Goot to see you my little brother.
Rohit took many years to unleash the beast inside him.
Rahul shows the glimpses of an even bigger beast that lives deep inside him.
Reminds me of Neo asking Morpheus if he would be able to dodge bullets once he is ready in the Matrix to which Morphy replies with a smile that when Neo is ready he won't even have to.
That would be me telling any critic of Lokey right now.
When he is ready he wont just be another Rohit Sharma on 5th gear but much more than you could ever imagine.
Peam Rahul will demolish Lara's 400 record inside 5 sessions of test cricket.
Thank you FC. Nice to see you too.
KL Rahul is something else. I remember watching him bat in 2016 series in WI and felt this guy had the ability to humiliate other bats. While others were batting carefully, he was just so effortless and batting on another planet.
Then came the T20 match in USA and he scored an outrageous 100 batting at 4 chasing 250 runs, almost winning us a lost match.
Then came the 2017 series which honestly we would have lost without him.
Then IPL (where he changed his role according to the needs of his team). Wow.
Personally speaking, never has a batsman since Tendulkar, captured my imagination like Rahul has done. Yes, Kohli is clinical but he doesn't have the "thrill" quotient that Tendulkar and now Rahul possess.
I get so nervous when Rahul bats and its so reminiscent of the late 90s when I used to watch Tendulkar bat. The nervousness is present because their wickets are so damn valuable. I kid you not, I tuned in to the Ireland series just to watch Rahul bat and then switched off the stream once he was gone. Haha.
When you mentioned about 400 in 5 sessions I was a bit skeptical. But upon thinking, it's not an impossible feat.
Modern pitches. Modern mindset. 80-100 in a session is possible. KL has the ability to score daddy hundreds.
So why not. Let's hope he does.
For now, I hope he has a great England ODI & test tour. Reg tests, the only issue I see with him is that he has these periods (like the NZ home series 2016) where he plays away from his body too much and gives away his wicket while looking like a million bucks. As long as he avoids that, he is going to pile on the runs in England.
