[PICTURES] Wahab Riaz versus Ahmed Shehzad [PSL 2016]

I'm sure Shehzad will take his revenge through a strongly worded tweet

Unneeded from Wahab though. Need to maintain your clown regardless how much the guy opposite to you is a clown

To me it looks like Shehzad is to blame for the situation. Yes, Wahab celebrated aggressively (which he does all the time) and in response Shehzad pointed his bat at him and then walked straight into Wahab forcing him to get physical.

in the sense its right this game is just too batsman friendly..... if fast bowlers doesn't show such aggression then sooner or later they will be endangered species in cricket

Wahab taking the role of The Enforcer too personally ever since the spell against Watson.

He should concentrate more on taking wickets or improving his basic skill set rather than behaving like a jackass which he has been doing throughout this tourney.

Yeah pics say it clearly. Shehzad is waving his bat at Wahab and being a knob as usual and Wahab put him in his place.

Wahab always seemed like the guy who keeps quiet until tampered with, then he hits you back.

Shehzad has always been the spoilt little brat, can't believe this guy has fans tbh. Needs to be kept out of the team for a long team, his narcissistic attitude will be toxic for team culture.

Post of the thread.

Shehzad must be in heartbroken that Afridi didn't come to his rescue or comfort him when he was walking away like a little girl whose toys had been snatched from here

Post of the thread.

Lol dude I'm going back on my word like a besharam

I feel kinda bad for Shehzad now. Wahab shouldn't have pushed him, he's better than that.

But yeah Shehzad is no angel, got scorched by the fire today :shehzad

By the way after the whole ordeal you can see Afridi telling Wahab to forget about Shehzad. Break ups are tough :sree

How besharam of you.

As much as I don't like Shehzad's attitude, that was all Wahab's fault.

But once again I ask, WHY?

No need for it.

See the video from other angle posted by uberkoen. It's clear that Shehzad initiated physical contact

I still stand by what you wrote. Shezzy deserved every bit of it. :uakmal

I felt a bit bad for Shehzad but after watching this video, it's clear that it was Shehzad's fault. So no sympathy for him.

Maybe they took this literally

Both at fault, Wahab getting a little too carried away with his celebrations these days which obvioulsy Shehzad had a word or two to say about that. The physical aspect was mutual imo and both should get a talking to. As long as they keep it on the pitch, as a 'in the heat of the moment' type of situation, and can make up off the pitch it is fine to be honest.

Tbh that other angle is as inconclusive as you'll get.

Was Shehzad waving his bat because Wahab said something?

Or

Even if Wahab didn't start the verbals, should he have shoved or put hands on the Shehzad in the first place?

That's my 2 cents.

Both are stupid but Wahab actually put hands on Shehzad, which is very idiotic and he should be banned.

Doesn't look like he was threatening with his bat. Seemed to me like he was gesturing while trying to make a point. Could be wrong of course. Shehzad started the verbals but i think it was because of the Wahab celebration :))

Handbags is all. Will hopefully be forgotten about and they can move on from it.

But the question is how to avoid such situations...gradually players are crossing there limits.

Give Wahab a 10 year A contract.

Feel for him tonight tho, when he gets home and logs into twitter....oh man.... more fire will be coming outta that notifications box than an erupting volcano.

I think this was wahabs fault, you can clearly see him swearing after which shahzad pushes him away

Some people can't see that. Just blind hatred for Shehzad. I don't even like Shezzy

True people don't like Shehzad and that's what clouding their judgement. I like wags but he needs to cut down these in your face aggression.

Whatever guys, both are guilty.

Both are at fault but to be honest it only is really bad for one of them.

1) Wahab is basically untouchable for selectors, for better or worse. He's a fast bowler with a lot of aggressive but I have to say, I've NEVER heard him have any issues with teammates, EVER. He's always said basically the right things, seems to get along with all of them.

Heck, I even commented in NZ that it was Wahab who was doing all the onfield communicating with Amir.

2) Shehzad has now a terrible reputation. People have said he has a bad attitude. True or not, that allegation has stuck.

Also, haven't there be issues of him fighting with fielding coach or being disrespectful?

And now he's not even on the squad, being dropped, and he has a moment like this?

So here's the bottom line. Bad from both, but it only hurts Shehzad in selection.

Good. Maybe it'll make more people, including those on the squad, realize how delusional Shehzad and his fans are.

Don't need that kind of cancer on the team. It's not the first time Shehzad has caused drama.

If you want to talk about selection than only look at their performances.

Shehzad has been failing in international cricket non stop for a year now and the only reason he wasn't dropped much earlier fairly is because of his relationships. But even that could only take his so long. On merit he should not be in the team anyway

I am all for aggression and passion in the field but that was just embarrassing and pathetic.

First of all I have no idea what on earth Shehzad could possibly be saying whilst waving his bat in Wahabs face, moments after he was just owned and made to look like an incompetent school kid of a slogger.

Meanwhile I have no idea what on earth Wahab was thinking getting in Shahzads face and then pushing and shoving him away - basically acting like a drama queen.

Both players will - and I think should - be banned for the remainder of the PSL.

No doubt there should be aggression and passion on the field. However, there is a line you shouldn't cross and once you start waving your bat in someone's face or start pushing and shoving the opposition - that line is so far behind you that you can't even see it any more!

Remainder of the PSL? That's a bit harsh. Wouldn't even get such a ban if this happened at an international level. At most a fine with a 1 game ban. I think in this case a fan shall suffice. Move on, it happens.

No. I think it's perfectly reasonable to say that X player is a good player but he is an absolute terrible teammate, he displays poor temperament and judgment, treats coaches with contempt, and regardless of talent should not be on a TEAM.

So, yes, performance matters most. But Shehzad has a bad reputation now, and Wahab has generally never been a bad teammate. That absolutely matters

Looks like Shez showed him bat first, kinda liked wahab's aggression.

Btw why is it only Shehzad who gets in these kinds of troubles.

It's been going on since under 19 days. Fighting coaches

Wahab should be banned. Wahab also headbutted Shehzad in the helmet which made him push him. People here just hate Shehzad!

Because he has a horrible entitled attitude. At this point it's not some mystery

You cannot show bat and say **** to a raging fast bowler and get away with a polite sendoff.

Honestly, Shez asked for it though Wahab is guilty of taking it up a notch.

I thought you would had loved this episode bro it has such a pre-match WWE vibe to it.

Some amazing scenes on Twitter right now with Shahzadians crying and abusing Wahab :yk

Shahzadians (Shehzad Fans) were already abusing Wahab on Twitter a few days ago for his reaction against Nawaz (Shehzad team mate in Quetta) and they were spreading a pic on social media Shehzad appreciating Umar Akmal innings against his team Quetta and were comparing it with Wahab reaction after taking a fellow cricketer wicket.

I have from a reliable source that Shehzad showed Wahab the bat and said "Balla maroun moun pe?" Upon seeing Wahabs celebration. Wahab then reacted

Dude that's not Shehzad's acc. The hint is the actual name of the account :))

Shehzad endorse it and liked the tweet

Not the first time either. He has liked anti Waqar tweets in the past and ran a campaign to be made captain over Azhar after the WC and once the decision was made liked tweets against team management and Azhar

If all that aggression was coz twitter then its such an anti-climax, i honestly thought it was the on field-aggression type scenes.

Oh no I thoroughly enjoyed it and encourage such incidents on the pitch but just wanted peeps to be clear on how things went down

The irony Shehzad fans were spreading this pic on social media a few days ago and there was also another pic of wahab to insult him (i am unable to find that pic)

I think a 1 match ban is kind of useless since both teams are already through to the next round any way and will have 1 group game left after this match.

Basically banning them for 1 match will mean resting Shehzad & Wahab is the last group game which will be a dead rubber. Specially if Peshawar win today (which is highly likely the way things are going), Peshawar and Quetta will both be guaranteed to play the 1st Qualifier anyway so you will basically end up just resting the two for a dead rubber before the 1st Qualifier.

He may have liked that tweet but he likes anything about himself tbh.

Good to see Pakistani cricketers showing some mardaangi. Its been missing

I don't have the screenshot and neither have I seen the tweet myself. It's what some people here were saying that he liked a negative tweet about Wahab.

It is in the other Shehzad thread. Some fan made fun of Wahab and he liked the tweet
