Captain's Role in managing/picking team

Each Captain will have a pre-tournament role in designing his team taking team members opinion in consideration.

Each Captain will issue:
2 Platinum
3 Diamond
4 Gold contract to players (non international).

Captain will also pick 2 International Platinum players from the PSL squad.

Captain will pick additional International regular players to get total squad strength of minimum of 13 players and maximum 18 players per team.

Each playing XI, should have atleast 1 WK and 5 bowlers (including AR).

Format

The format for this PSL is each team plays each other twice (home and away) before 4 teams qualifies for the playoffs named Qualifier, Eliminator, Challenger and Final with total number of matches is 34.

Qualifier to be host by 1st place team.

Eliminator to be host by 3rd place team.

Challenger to be host by loser of Qualifier.

Final to be host by winner of Qualifier.

Incase anyone is wondering, sim's player database uses 55 column of data for every player.
Though most of the columns is useless for simming purpose here. One bad data entry can cause sim to crash.

The code below can be saved as csv file and then can be opened in excel.

PITCH TYPES AVAILABLE TO CHOOSE FOR THE HOME TEAMS:

Pancake, Road, Flat, Dry, Normal, Spicey, Devilish, Nightmare, Unplayable.

It's self explanatory. If you read from left to right (Pancake to Unplayable), you go from the most batting friendly pitch (250/2 in 20 overs pitch) to the most bowling friendly (50 all out in 10-12 overs pitch). The specific ground conditions also play a part, such as Bounce/Swing/Seam/Spin/Deterioration set to Low, High or Average.

A suggestion. When you post fixtures can we try posting some dates and match start time of those fixtures?

I would advise that we do like 2 matches or even 3 per day but at different times of the day and look to post each match within 1-2 hours of after its start time.

We haven’t tried this approach before, but I think it’s worth a try at least for the first few matches and we are likely to get more engagement from people if they know when the matches will start and dates beforehand.

Of course that means that teams and captains will have to be more organised and quick about posting pitch type and deciding on their team combo - but I am sure each team can figure that out.

Yea I think it will create more buzz and will be a bit easier for the person posting the matches as well.

As they will only post one match at a time (eventhough we have 2-3 matches in total in the day)

That would also mean that for example for the first match the 3 teams that are not playing can participate in the match thread and follow it as the sole attention would be on that match.

And then later in the day the sole attention would be on the second match, etc.

Penalty for failure to submit a pitch variation and team lineup

Failure to submit a pitch variation on time the team will be deducted 1 point.

Failure to submit a team lineup on time the team will be deducted 1 point.

In any of the cases above match will be simmed randomly.

The rules can relax for the first round though.
