Based on last time pak toured it could be 2-1 in favour of both sides.
 
It will be extremely close series but I think Pakistan will edge it, but Babar needs to show his class it's his second tour of SA & he can't come back without scoring a century.

Impatiently waiting for the ODI series, I don't even remember when was the last time Pakistan played an ODI vs a good side, it was probably in WC19.

South Africa have really gone full strength. In home conditions, they will be too strong for us. 2-1 or 3-0 likely.
 
South Africa will start as favourites at home. Pak middle order isn’t experienced with only Babar over 50 ODIs, 3 debutants (If Abdullah is considered in the middle) and Rizwan with 35 matches, but, if the bowling attack is full strength i.e Hassan Ali is available than it should be a competitive series.
 
Depending on where Rizwan bats our tail begins at 5. The batting is either incredibly weak or very inexperienced. We have no proven finishers at all.

You need pacers to win in SA and as usual apart from Shaheen no bowlers stand out. Hasan is capable of a good series but it's impossible to say how he'll perform after so long out of international cricket.

I doubt we win anything unless Babar or Rizwan do something crazy.
 
Pakistan to win 2-1. Saud Shakeel to announce his arrival with a century chasing 300+ in the third ODI to give Pakistan the series.
 
2-1 to RSA but hoping Pakistan pulls something out of the hat. I will be interested to see how Imam handles Nortje.
 
This will be a tricky series for Pakistan. It will depend what the team will looks like. It will depend on Babar, Rizwan and Faheem perform with bat. Hasan, Shaheen and Hasnain will need to click with the bowl and Babar's captaincy.

3-0 easy.

Pakistani batting is too strong. A top 4 of Imam, Fakhar, Babar and Rizwan is unstoppable, Faheem, Nawaz, and Hasan Ali have all played match-winning innings in 1st class cricket this year, they should be in good enough form for 50 over cricket.

On top of that, South Africa is a poor side, especially in ODIs.
 
We will win this series. M Wasim has selected an excellent squad which has ensured that Misbah and Babar can't include duds (Malik, Talat, Asif etc) in the playing XI even if they want to.

Rizwan made a mockery of himself last time in SA. Hopefully Rizwan 2.0 will redeem himself there.

I hope saud shakeel debuts and bats at 4
 
South Africa beat Australia last year and I’m sure SA had a couple of players out lol.

South Africa will win the ODI series.
 
As much as it pains me to do this, I've gone for 2-1 to South Africa.

Home side, squad looks decent, I think Pakistan might struggle with the bat.

Very surprising that you think Pakistan will win a match. South Africa would be disappointed with anything less than 3-0.
 
Depends on how the first game goes. It's tough to come back from a first game defeat in a 3-match series. I'm going with 3-0 for Pakistan.
 
Just hope we dont get blown away for low scores and put up decent totals!

With imaam,babar,saud who can all bat throw the innings we should be able to get atleast a par score
 
My prediction is SA will win 2-1. The last two games will be competitive.

Yep, can't remember any other Odi series we've beaten South Africa other than that time Misbah led us when we beat South Africa in South Africa.

I think this is Pakistan best chance imaam,Babar,saud can all bat throw fakhar,haider,rizwan can look to play thier shots if we get 280/300 we will most games
 
The number 5 and number 6 position look very shaky for Pakistan. Highly likely that two of Haider Ali, Saud Shakeel and Abdullah Shafique are going to fill those two spots. And I can't say I have bought any of these guys as international-level talents. If they go with Shadab at No.6 than that would be even worse.

Yep, it's not exactly the weakest and not exactly the strongest SA.
 
Only a 3-0 vs SA will make Pakistan move up one position to displace RSA

No.ways pak are winning one days saffers are out for revenge and they will be fired up in their home conditions

South Africa is captained by temba bavuma of all people? Pakistan should whitewash them. Anything less would be a humiliation.
 
2-1 to SA, even that is an achievement for the so called least talented team in the world. Pakistan have not yet managed to form a settled side,and will rely on good form of players like Babar, Hafeez, Shaheen and Hasan Ali. I hope Hasnain plays as he has done nothing wrong not to be a regular in the side. It is a shame Nawaz has been selected over Zafar Gohar, the latter being batter and bowler than former, yet discarded without any fair chance.

Captaincy is not as important as you may think it's the individual players, and as we have seen world over teams playing in their home conditions usually win. SA also so some very good players.

Pak can win 2-1 i believe now, that's if Pakistan beats SA in either the 1st or 2nd ODI. The 3rd ODI will have a weakened SA side as the likes of Rabada, Nortje, QDK and David Miller are leaving for the IPL.
 
It depends how our line-up is posted and how well Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Faheem Ashraf bat and how our bowlers ball. I am expecting this team to be a bit more settled and not too dissimilar to the T20's.

I will be surprised if the team wins even one match. Batting is simply not good enough against pace and bounce. Hopefully batsmen use this as a learning experience and PCB arranges more such tours so that batsman can improve their skill levels.
 
If south africa had thier full squad then yes id expect 2-1 south africa.

If Pakistan win either the first odi or the second then i expect 2-1 Pakistan
 
It’s been a good series so far, really enjoyed it. Hope we get a good last game.
 
All the main South Africans are going to IPL and missing this. So should be easy win for Pakistan.
 
I called it 2-1 and i'm keeping with my prediction of 3-1 to Pak in the t20s now that i know even Pretorius isn't playing.
