Didn't know Khawaja could speak Urdu, think he would prove a shrewd selection for Islamabad.
The way Shadab is bowling at the moment, it seems that he holds the key to IU's destruction in PSL 6!
"We lost the last game we played here by a close margin and we could have taken it negatively but what we showed here today was that we took that first loss in a positive way; I am very happy with our bowling unit as that is what helps you win tournaments"
"When things are going your way then you use the same style of attack from the start when batting; Today pitch was easier to bat in the 2nd innings and winning the toss was crucial due to the dew factor"
"Musa Khan and Akif Javed bowled well; Akif was playing his first game after one year, and as we know it's very tought to make a comeback after injury; And then we had Musa Khan who took 2 crucial wickets for us, and of course Wasim Khan has been brilliant in the way he has been bowling throughout the tournament; Hassan and I also bowled well and if you are restricting the opposition to 130-140 then you are definitely bowling well"
"Faheem Ashraf has stitches on his hand and he will be available for our group matches towards the end of the tournament"
Im backing these boys to come last this year
As expected they look a clinical team without Misbah holding them back. It’s amazing to think how much more they would have won without Misbah being a passenger for so long as a player + dropping and then letting go of Babar + ruining the team as the coach.
He’s gone now and the difference is clear.
What logic is this, one off season didn't make them a bad team. They were winning when Misbah was there and they're winning now. Misbah set strong foundations here as the core of the team and the winning formula is the same as his playing days.
Is shadab injured or he got dropped as well?
"It wasnt a bad performance but for us the equation remains the same - if you win 2 games from here, you win the tournament; We gotta dust ourselves up and come back tomorrow and play a better game"
"Yeah it does hurt but leading up to that we were really good in the 5 overs up to that; It's one of those things when you have 2 attacking players who on their day get away from you; That hurts you when you are looking back but we cant blame it on one over; We werent at our best as we lost wickets together throughout the innings"
"It was only Usman who really made the contribution and we were about 30 runs short in the end"
"Still a lot of positives for us - it will hurt tonight but good teams bounce back and that is what we will aim to do"
"Of course we want to bounce back and try and get there for Thursday night and that is our aim"
Struggled in playoffs but, overall a decent tournament for them.
