If you're going to play an out and out medium pacer, on merit, it should be Asif every time.

There isn't a lot of performance difference between the two and Abbas is a lot younger and can also bat a bit.

There's no stat that can make me buy into Mohammad Abbas having an inch over Mohammad Asif. Age, fair enough, batting ability, not nearly as relevant. Asif would for sure be able to make a ball talk more than Abbas and is a proven IQ cricketer at the highest level. I'd rather move on from both and invest in someone else, but if it's between these days, Asif eats Abbas alive.

Abbas can bat a bit? News to me. Proper tail ender. Would say there's very little difference between Abbas and Amir in the batting department. Asif is a better bowler though no doubt, could have been a great if he didn't get involved in controversies throughout his career. Abbas though, should still be in the test squad regardless of whether Asif is or not because he's had a great start to his career too.

I was totally against Amir being allowed in the team but given that PCB selected Amir for the national team, there should be no double standards when it comes to Asif and Butt. If they are both performing superbly in the domestic, they deserve a chance to be in the national team. And by the looks of it, Asif is killing it in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy. I would have him now.

I still maintain that none of the three should've been allowed to play international cricket for Pakistan but since PCB has allowed one, the other two cannot be held back.

Asig got outbowled by Wahab today. Single wicket of Asad, delivery was a foot outside off stump and Asad chased it without being in line and got caught in the slips. A nothing delivery to be honest.

Lets see what Asif does with the second new Ball.

Abbas in the next innings

Adnan Raees looks like a proper player. After the rubbish we have seen over the years, why has not even been on a A tour? And btw Yasir looks like he has been on the cheese burger diet.

unfortunately he is from KPK>

If any selector took a salary and didnt even watch him play then he should be embarrassed by his incompetence. Its not as if we are blessed with great quality, and i dont know if he would have had the wherewithal to make it but i do know that he wouldnt have been any worse than Akmal etc.

if he was from some bi city or had some good connections then i am sure he would have played at least 20 test matches,,though i have not seen him play but by his stats and previous examples<masood etc> set by the very competent pcb.

Abbas is a better bowler in this inning for sure, it seems like Asif was trying too much thereforr he was all over the place...

Asif and Abbas should be our opening bowlers in test cricket. Teams will find it hard to score off them. Sadaf/Amir/Hasan can be 1st change. Sadaf should get a go to be honest ahead of Amir.

As new ball bowlers, they should both be in the Squad and Abbas needs to learn from Asif.

It is criminal not to have Asif coaching young Pakistani bowlers

Who is more talented among the two?

I dont think Asif as good as Abbas on dead wickets.

Asif could do magical things with a cricket ball on a motorway or the Sahara Desert. He was a once in a generation bowler who also had tremendous flair in his bowling.

As amazing as he was though, He was the cause of his own demise but here's hoping Abbas can become better but for now it's still Asif.
