Zafar has hardly been taking loads of wickets..Ehsan had his chance few years ago but he is a trundler as well..

In what universe did Ehsan Adil get and waste a chance?

He is a tall fast-medium bowler who clearly would be a specialist for use Outside Asia. His job would be to bowl a full length at the top of off-stump with a minimum of 3 slips in place.

He has bowled in 1 Test innings, in South Africa, and his figures of 2-54 included the wickets of Graeme Smith and FAF du Plessis.

I am really not seeing how he missed his chance. I am totally baffled by your comment.

Unless you somehow imagine that not having white ball success without a slip cordon is somehow relevant. If that's your point, please send a memo to Australia that since they don't pick Josh Hazlewood in white ball cricket they need to drop him from the Test team too!

Shan Masood fined 25 per cent match fee for showing dissent

Karachi, 31 October 2019:

Southern Punjab captain Shan Masood has been fined 25 per cent match fee for level 1 offence relating to showing dissent at umpire’s decision during a match during his team’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy round five first-class match against Northern at Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot, on Tuesday.

Shan was charged by on-field umpires Abdul Moqeet and Farooq Ali Khan for violation of clause 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel for showing obvious disappointment with umpires’ decision when given out caught behind.

Shan pleaded not guilty to the charge and, as such, a hearing took place following Wednesday’s play in which the match referee Kamran Chaudhry upheld his decision.

Watch out for Sajid Khan (26) the offspinner with a classical action ,Still i think he is not using his non bowling arm properly, He was averaging 10 with the ball in 2nd XI and was rightly called up in the main XI , and he didn't do too bad in his first outing.

It's a shame that the field is so poor, fielders are bound to get injured if there are non grassy areas in the out field, that patch looked really rough and sandy. That could be torn ligaments in the knee for the fielder.

More runs for Haider Ali. As Azhar Ali falls, it will be hard to ignore this kid. Pakistan need an attacking test match opener.

He has a pretty decent action.

Naseem has match figures of 9/111. Great outing. Almost one it for CP, just needed 2 wickets.

Sarfaraz somehow manages to save his side. Naseem got him out though. Naseem is getting good wickets. Abid Ali, Fawad Alam and Sarfaraz Ahmed were his scalps this inning.

Rubbish pitches in Sialkot and Quetta. We've gone from one extreme to the other.

Don't these pitches deteriorate ?

The four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy fifth-round fixture between Central Punjab and Sindh ended in a draw at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

Set a target of 331, Sindh had half of their batting lineup back in the pavilion with only 68 runs on board as fast-bowler Naseem Shah continued his impressive form.

After Central Punjab had declared at 273 for five in the morning session after adding 81 runs to their overnight 192 for two, the young pacer had Sindh at 17 for one, as he bowled Abid Ali for the second time in the match, when Lunch was taken.

The 16-year-old right-arm pacer took two more wickets in the evening session as his wicket tally for the match went to nine for 111 runs.

Sindh’s fightback was led by captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored a 62-ball 54 before he was dismissed by Naseem.

Sarfaraz spent 75 minutes at the crease and hit seven fours.

That Sindh edged out in securing a draw against the home team also had to do with their bowler Tabish Khan, who spent 48 minutes at the crease scoring only one.

Opener Khurram Manzoor, who scored 28 runs from his 84-ball stay at the crease, was the other noticeable batsman in the innings. The right-handed batsman had cracked five fours in the 134 minutes he spent in the middle.

With two wickets for 45 runs, spinner Zafar Gohar was the other bowler to have sent shivers down the Sindh’s camp as the left-arm spinner took the wickets of Asad Shafiq (eight) and Kashif Bhatti (0).

Earlier, Central Punjab’s Salman Butt completed his 24th first-class century after resuming his innings on 90. The left-handed opening-batsman scored 137 runs from 206 balls, hitting 20 fours.

In the sixth round of the first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Central Punjab host Northern at Iqbal Stadium, while Sindh travel to Abbottabad to play Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Scores in brief:

Central Punjab 313 all-out, 95.5 overs (Kamran Akmal 90, Ahmed Shehzad 60, Faheem Ashraf 52, Usman Salahuddin 38, Ehsan Adil 25; Kashif Bhatti 3-99, Mir Hamza 2-46, Sohail Khan 2-72, Tabish Khan 2-80) and 273-5, 65.5 overs (Salman Butt 137, Azhar Ali 90, Umer Akmal 24; Tabish Khan 3-65)

Right now he is only good at mun k fire. Dont get the hype around this guy. Maybe due to the fact that he can speak fluent English and is raised in England because results wise he has showed nothing infact it is going downwards.

You have to be naive if you think it’s possible to get the pitches right straight away. This will take time but atleast they are aware of it and doing something by getting ICC curators in for help.

Umpiring standards also need massive improvement. Let’s see how things progress over the coming seasons.

Quetta, 31 October 2019:

The fifth-round match in the first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ended in a draw at Quetta’s Bugti Stadium.

Chasing a victory target of 306, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were 220 for five in 45 overs when stumps were drawn for the fourth and final day.

After losing their captain Sahibzada Farhan (22) with 48 runs on the board, Israrullah and Ashfaq Ahmed hit aggressive half-centuries which helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa maintain a healthy run-rate of over 4.5 runs.

Israrullah cracked a run-a-ball 85 before getting dismissed by Yasir Shah. His knock included 13 fours and a six. This was his second half-century of the match.

Ashfaq, from the other end, scored 51 runs off 64 balls, hitting seven fours.

Yasir, the Pakistan leg-spinner, followed his four wickets in the first innings with the figures of two for 62, while Taj Wali and Akif Javed took a wicket apiece.

The highlight of the earlier part of the day was the five-wicket haul of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Sajid Khan.

I wasnt talking about the pitches. Appointment of Misbah alone has dented Pakistan cricket 100 times. Looks like Wasim Khan needed a yes man.

It’s a questionable decision to appoint Misbah, I agree. But I don’t think it’s enough for us to write off Wasim Khans credentials completely. Let’s see how things pan out before calling him a useless appointment.

Why was Shehzad captaining CP and not Azhar? Maybe Azhar wanted to concentrate on his batting before the Aus tour?

Pretty surprising that Nawaz hasnt been playing for Northern in 4day format after the first match in which he scored a decent century.

Good. He only played so many matches for Pakistan because he is Sarfraz's QG buddy.

Misbah is rewarded with 3 roles and he is qualified for none. Is this what Wasin Khan sahab is upto? Are there no capable men in Pakistan and Misbah is the most capable for all these 3 roles in the world? Dont think Wasim is that clueless. He got his yes man and thats about it.

Quality pacer like Nasim still picked up 9 wickets last game it's not wasim khan fault that domestic trundles have forgotten how to toil for wickets due to pitches of past 8-10 seasons.

The only issue with piches I have is they are not breaking in the 2nd half of the game so spinners are not getting in to the game.It will atleast take a season or two to get the pitches right but this is surely better then watching pot bellied Saad Altaf picking 16 wickets a game.

For God sake stop picking on Saad Altaf now, the guy has retired hearing your comments again and again.

I reckon making the pitches extremely dead for the first few matches has worked. We have got Naseem Shah performing and the trundlers have been exposed. Now that we know which bowlers to look out for (Naseem, Sameen and Ehsan Adil have all done well).

But now the pitches must improve. They need to age well so that there is spin on offer on days 3 and 4. Also need a bit more in it for pacers, but not as much as before.

Junaid Khan fined for breaching PCB Code of Conduct, Central Punjab fined for slow over-rate

Karachi, 2 November 2019:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bowler Junaid Khan has been fined 40 per cent of his match fee for violating the PCB Code of Conduct during his side’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match against Balochistan, which ended in a draw in Quetta on Thursday.

Junaid was found guilty of committing a Level 1 offence under clause 2.6, which relates to using a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during a match.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when, Junaid got involved in an argument with umpire Shamim Ansari and used inappropriate language at the end of his over, the eighth of Balochistan’s second innings.

Junaid was charged by on-field umpires Ghaffar and Shamim Ansari. The player accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Mohammad Aslam. So, there was no need for a formal hearing.

Meanwhile, the Central Punjab team were fined Rs 40,000 for a minimum over-rate offense against Sindh at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on Thursday.

Central Punjab were four overs short of their target and were subsequently fined by match referee Nadeem Arshad.
