Something needs to be done about this smog situation. Funny thing is people in Pakistan think it is natural order of things and not caused by excess pollution

MMHS umar amin bowled.saad ali again top scorer , kamran ghulam with the bast and ali shafiq with the ball..good to cee/

Hamza parcha i have heard this name after a very long time
has he played in every rounds of this season ?
or was he injured or dropped ?

you forgot saud shakeel
he also scored 70+

yes another good thing.saus and saad ali should be given chances againt NZ.saad definitely if not saud..saud is more of atest cricketr but saad can be good in odi as well ,he is scoring runs with 80 strike rate in QEA trophy,

agree with you
saud deserves chance in longer format maybe he can be included in next year or so
but saad ali is must for all formats
not only in squad but should be in playing XI comfartably over anyone apart from captain and babar

he has to target hafiz place...or mlaik,,,he and haris will fight for thta hafiz spot...if management decide to go with fakhar and babr to open then he should come at 4 while haris at 3 which is unlikely .

in tests saad should come at 4 or 5 for shafiq while he goes to his original number six and azhar opens with harris at 3 babr or usman at 4.

Shan Masood is captain. Captain Fantastic.

123 runs in 5 innings with 0 fifties for Captain Fantastic.

His scores are 15, 21, 18, 45* and 24. The 45* was in a chase of 94 runs against the newly promoted side, PTV.

It is to be seen whether Inzimam select top scorers of the tournment as this pitches in QAE trophy are said to be bowler's paradise so batsmen should be world class if they are performing in this matches

on topic , how aamer yamin and umar amin performed ? ? ?

aamir yamin went wicket less .umar amin with two wickets.

Umar Akmal in last 5 innings

47, 6,11,12 and a golden duck in this match

slman buttt so far in QEA trophy.38,26,1,56,16,62,2,6,8.39.10 and golden duck.

So Asif must be injured, bowled 5 overs of 2nd innings in last game and is not playing this game

Saad Ali again was the highest scorer for UBL in the first inning showing his class. The only knock on his outing would be not scoring at least 50 but otherwise it was a good inning in testing conditions.

MMHS umar amin bowled.saad ali again top scorer , kamran ghulam with the bast and ali shafiq with the ball..good to cee/

Saad Ali and Saud are batting at a high strike rate in such condition, which is the best thing to see.

Ever since Junaids wrote that Salman Butt, in Test, would average 45 in this era - his scores has gone to his standard operating level excluding few innings against AUS. And, ever since Umar came to know from same source that Mickey is eager to bring him in Test team, his scores as are matching Butt ......

This was probably Salman's last chance to stake a claim because he was so close to getting selected.

I don't think after this season Salman will ever be able to make a comeback. He has failed at the most critical time for him.

what about this ali shafiq guy.going neck to neck with sadaf hussain...and umar amin bowling?

Ali Shafiq is feasting on these green tracks, he got bashed around in the first edition of the rising stars tournament.

what about this ali shafiq guy.going neck to neck with sadaf hussain...and umar amin bowling?

Umar Amin used to bowl pretty regularly early in his career. I remember his dismissing Trott, should be the bowling highlight for the rest of his bowling career.

both him and Butt are having a pretty terrible season (Thank GOD)

Umar Akmal lol. How we kept giving this loser a chance is beyond me. I reckon in about 20 years time we'll see him as a PCB administrator trying to get his kid in via sifarish.

Glad Umar Akmal and Salman Butt's performance has been so bad that even Inzi cannot select them.

Good that Umar is back amongst the runs. Has a chance to end the season on a high seen as though UBL will be progressing further.

Ehsan Adil also back in form. I still see a future for him in our Test side but he needs to sustain some performance in FC cricket.

What does Saad Altaf bowl? Spin or pace?

Left-arm medium-fast. 34-years-old. :misbah2

Why are people recommending Saad Ali for the ODI squad when he is performing in the longer format?

bcoz Saad ali has potential to perform even better in ODIs and T20s
His strike rate is awesome

Check his thread and you will see I was the one commentating on how consistent he has been this QeA, well before his 200 vs FATA.

However, the fact remains that by all accounts he had a poor One Day Cup. Let's not mix formats for now.

Umar scored probably 54 (12/1) out of 69 from boundaries, coming at 3 - one last time, for just 1 last time, if he is fit - bat him as opener in NZ in those small 350+ grounds and give him a licence to kill for 5 innings, without bothering what's next.

After that, if it doesn't happen, I don't mind if he is dumped for ever.

Why are people recommending Saad Ali for the ODI squad when he is performing in the longer format?

Because he has List A average of 56 and SR of 86 after 32 innings.

People keep harping about Farhan who has much much inferior stats and has only played 9 matches.

See above. He really struggled in the most recent One Day Cup. We shouldn't mix formats.

Comparison with Farhan is a poor one. They bat in different positions and play different roles. Not least because it has taken Farhan 9 matches to hit the same number of sixes in List A matches as Saad has hit in 32 innings (10).

Not sure why you think Farhan's stats are poor- averaging 41.88 at a S/R of 99.4. For the record, in another thread I have mentioned in detail Farhan's technical issue.

37 all out, what a joke of a domestic season this has been.

Hammad Azam's having a great season with the bat.

Don't think that banning UA for three QeA matches was the cleverest of ideas. That's the format everyone wants him to be playing.

That was my first comment after ban - hurt him where it hurts only him (his pocket), but this ban was like a collateral damage.

Yep.

But I don’t know why Markhor and MMHS both tagged me about Salman Butt. I have consistently said that his chance ended with the 2016-17 Australia tour.

Pakistan already has far, far too many Test players over the age of 30 (Sarfraz, Yasir, Azhar, Shafiq and Wahab).

The last thing they need is to add another like Salman Butt or Fawad Alam.

This is hilarious. Have you forgotten when you said he was the best opener in Pakistan?

Markhor is from sheffield, need I say more :yk you need to tell him a couple of more times before it sticks :yk2

And speaking of Salman, he's being positioned to return now although it would be pointless because we have enough young prospects who wouod be worth investing in

I only care about Tests, and I want Sami Aslam to open with Imam-ul-Haq so that Azhar Ali can drop to Number 3.

Both Shan Masood and Salman Butt are having rubbish seasons and should be unselectable.

Shan Masood has only scored 123 runs, and Salman Butt has only scored 264 runs.

What a turnaround this is from you.

What happened to Salman's 50 being worth a 100? :))

More seriously, I am happy to see you have seen sense and we are in agreement that Butt is unselectable due to his poor form.

lobby is working very hard for Fawad though. There is a strong chance of Fawad making into the next test squad.

If people at PCB had any sense they would fire person running the domestic affair after seeing the pitches for mega event. There seems to be no accountability system within the PCB. Najam Sethi is too busy saving his grace and he wants company of senior people..:misbah

No boss, MMHS didn't drag you on possibility of Salman Butt's chances in PAK team - that little sense MMHS do have, you may know; MMHS actually has posted enough data as evidence on this. MMHS dragged you on your post that Sulman Butt will average 45 in these days as opener which actually is at per with Cook, Warner, Azhar and better than Tamim - this is a bit difficult to digest your know; I don't have any vendetta with Butt guy, but we can't disgrace players like Cook, Warner, Azhar, Dhawan, Vijay, Elgar ....... Tamim is a minnow team player, obviously that automatically makes Butt better than him, so no issues in that regard.

By the way, Butt never, never, never merited a call in AUS tour last winter, based on his heroics 10-6 years back and couple of innings in a domestic final - he is proving that time and again.

Did anyone notice Salman Butt got a pair in the ongoing match for WAPDA?

In the first innings he was batting at #3.

Hopefully these performances are given due consideration before the selection of the next Test squad... which isn't for many months.

Another current left-handed Test opener is struggling too...

You are the bearer of great news. Keep it coming.

As an aside, the "Faisalabad Region vs. Peshawar Region" link in OP is broken.

Imam ul Haq also bagged a pair.

Atleast Sami is managing to grind some runs out though.

That's because three days have passed with 'no play due to fog' so there's no scorecard link to add yet. :najam
