Rahmanullah Gurbaz v Mohammad Rizwan

This thread is for comparing both players - do so with respect to each player - this is not for throwing whatever insult comes to your minds.

Gurbaz makes an impact.

Rizwan is an accumulator

So obviously they are better for different formats

T20s. Both open. T20 openers are there to attack and use the powerplay. Gurbaz is the obvious choice hands down

ODIs. Gurbaz opens and blasts and Rizwan bats and accumulates. Gurbaz the bigger impact player obviously, Rizwan you’ll find out when everyone else has batted the whole innings if his innings was useful or not. I want to pick a guy who I know regardless of what everyone else does, when he performs I know exactly what impact he’s made as soon as he’s out. Gurbaz scores here.

Tests:
Now this is Rizwan’s territory. Gurbaz brash type innings is not suitable for this format. Rizwan has shown he’s perfectly suited to this fo…..oh hold on, he got dropped. Woops.

I’m taking Rizzy bro but honestly Gurbaz is the most exciting young batter in the world right now.

Just saw your year old comment so just reminded you about your embarrassing comment which has come back biting you really bad. A usual for you so it's okay... Ya sure Rizwan will be left out, anything to soothe your pain. Would you mind sharing Rizwan's average and score list since last you posted that comment a year ago? Let's hear your out :)
Yes sir, Rizwan is the best wicket-keeper batsman in the world, Babar is the best batsman in the world, Shaheen is the best new ball bowler in the world, Rauf is the best death bowler in the world, Naseem is the best all-round bowler in the world. On top of everything, Pakistan is the number one team in the world.

Please forgive me if I have missed a few best this and that. I’m sure I have.

You are distorting his post.

This thread is about Rizwan vs Gurbaz, not rest of the world.

Simple answer, is Rizwan better, worse, or the same, compared with Gurbaz.

Please, no verbal gymnastics, and try and provide an objective opinion, and not an opinion based on Afghanistan beating England today.

Good foresight from you.

Rizwan's faces have been left red faced as Gurbaz has just played a much better knock and a match winning one against a proper bowling attack. He's literally stolen his thunder.

That Sri Lanka bowling attack was similar in level to what you'd expect from Nepal.
But but but it wasn’t century YAAR!!!

Babar better because he do the century YAAR!!

He gonna do century in Kolkata vs Bangladesh YAAR!!

💯

Gurbaz is better all-round batsman. He is fearless and very exciting. Very explosive too. I would happily take him as an opener in LOIs and choose him if I had to choose between him and Rizwan.

Don't worry not delusional like you who claim everything is best with your beloved country India. QDK is certainly better and Butter despite his questionable glove work is also better overall I would think, but Rizwan is getting up there in ODIs, certainly among the best wicket keeper batsmen in world cricket.

Resorting to best this best that won't win you argument, I have never done that. You are only resorting to it to feel better about the embarrassing comment you made a year ago. And don't worry I didn't bumb it, it was already among the top thread (someone else bumbed it) and saw your comment which brought a nice wide smile to my face so thought giving you a fact check will be nice. You haven't posted current year Rizwan stats, come on do it just want to see where you stand after a year with your biased take

Has Gurbaz kept for 50 overs and then went on to score a centuryagainst a team like SriLanka. BTW SriLanka bowling with Theek shana, Madushanka, and Wellalage was not bad all.

Not sure about all round he bats as an opener when there is no pressure and field is close, would he be able to bat as freely when Afghans are 30 something for 3?

Gurbaz is an impact player while Rizwan is much more consistent and he already has a wonderful 2023. Rizwan has already shown that he is better then Gurbaz. No comparison needed.

Gurbaz can take the game away from the opposition in a matter of few overs. On the other hand, Rizwan is more consistent and more reliable. Both very important part of their teams.

@Kriketer

You don't learn, do you?

Gurbaz is comfortably better than Rizwan. You can live in denial but the truth will unfold in the coming years if it hasn't already.

Joke of a comparision

Rizwan isn't even in the top 5 best keepers in Pakistan and yet here we are comparing him to the best batting talent Afganistan has produced

It's because Gurbaz has to deal with quality bowlers when he faces top teams because Afghanistan are viewed as a minnow and don't usually play top sides unless it's a cup. So gurbaz stats wise has it harder.

Rizzu plays alot of 2nd strings so on paper he looks better.

Goes to show how much I hate the stats argument lol.

This is what happens when you play too much 2nd string rather then developing 2nd string players into 1st string.

You get players like rizzu who are clueless against 1st string attacks

Out comes from the hiding. Nope still Rizwan is far ahead, nothing against Gurbaz he's good too. Rizwan has played too many gem knocks and is an excellent keeper. You still haven't responded last year you mentioned Rizwan is nothing and since that comment Rizwan has been absolutely exceptional, neither you bothered to share his stats of last one year. Bad games here and there don't change facts

You dont need to look at stats.

Just watch Riz bat to get an idea.

The pull shot from Gurbaaz is something you don't associate with many subcontinent players. Forget about Rizwan. I don't think anyone from Pakistan team can pull a fast bowler as well as Gurbaz.

Gurbaz is clear. It is embarrassing to compare them. Far better.

Watched a documentary on him last night. It is on the Afghan cricket YouTube channel.

What an inspirational young man. He is the Rashid Khan of Afghan batting - their first world class batsman, their first global star.

More power to him.
