Jadeja had lashed out at Manjrekar during the 2019 World Cup after his 'bits & pieces' comment for the all-rounder

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is once again facing the heat on Twitter after a user on the social media platform leaked his personal conversation with the cricketer-turned commentator. In the chats, Manjrekar can be seen taking a dig at star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stating that he doesn't understand English.

Jadeja and Manjrekar were involved in a heated altercation on Twitter during the 2019 World Cup. After India's loss against England by 31 runs, the talks of Jadeja's inclusion in the playing XI in the next game against Bangladesh had not gone down well with the commentator. Manjrekar called Jadeja a “bits and pieces” cricketer while explaining why he didn't deserve a spot in the XI.

Jadeja was not pleased by Manjrekar's remark and hit back at him on Twitter, comparing his statement to “verbal diarrhoea”.

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar had said.

“Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I am still playing. Learn to respect people who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea,” Jadeja tweeted as he hit back at the cricketer-turned commentator.

Now a Twitter user had leaked his chat with Manjrekar, where the former India cricketer has claimed Jadeja doesn't understand English and that someone would have spelled verbal diarrhoea for him. In the chats, Manjrekar can be seen having an argument with the fan over his analysis of the game.

"Sad state you are in. Expecting me to worship players like you do… by the way I am not a fan. I am an analyst. And Jadeja doesn’t know English so he did not know the actual meaning of bits and pieces. And surely somebody spelt verbal diarrhoea for him.” one of his messages read.

"I didn’t want to share this personal chat in public, even though it’s full to ****. But couldn’t help, coz ppl need to know this side of this man. Jadeja would be proud of what he did to prove you wrong.
BCCI is this the kind of man you would want in your com panel in future?" - the Twitter user captioned his post.

That fan basically exposed Manju. Really cheap comments this from Manju.

A bit harsh to criticise his English.

Surely what's more important is the quality of his performances on the field.

It's irrelevant. Private convo are always like that. I am sure Jadeja have some nasty stuffs about Sanjay.

If anything, leaking out of private messages, and that also after 2 years, speaks of witch-hunt.

Its a pattern with him.

Insulted in Bhogle on air for his views just cos he didn't play official cricket.

Had I been Bhogle, I would have surely given it back then and there. :P

Harsha is too much of a gentleman to give anyone back!

Ironic from the worst English commentator we've got.

He cried many times on Tendulkar, Kohli and Jaddu.
He has issues with Harsh Bhogle.

As Pollard once said :))

I wonder what's wrong with not knowing English; why does it have to be be offensive? Jadeja probably doesn't know a lot of English...so what?

I'm not a fan of Manjrekar but Harsha deserves it. He has no business commenting at the highest level of the game with his less than gully cricket experience.

Was alluding to Jadeja’s use of the word “verbal diarrhoea“ which had dented Manjarekar’s ego lol.
It was a very poor reaction by Manjrekar. Should stay away from social media, his so called friend leaked everything lol

Plenty of iconic football commentators have never kicked a ball in their life.

I dont understand the manju bashing - is jadeja not a bits and pieces cricketer?

Those of us who watched Manjrekar in 1989 away to Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis find it pretty amusing that a guy with a similar Test record outside Asia to Shadab Khan thinks that he has had a better career!

The likes of Imad Wasim or Yousuf Pathan are bits and pieces players.

Not Jadeja, who has been averaging 50+ with the bat and 25- with the ball in recent years.

The heights of delusion that some people have here is what I like most about this forum.

If Jadeja was a Pakistani, he would most likely be the captain of the test side and certainly the MVP of the team.

Agreed. Manjrekar tends to over estimate his achievements which is a common trait but what is worse, he belittles everyone else's

Think it's actually the other way around.

He's perfectly aware of his achievements (lack of them perhaps) and hence the constant over-compensation with his over the top remarks. :91:

Mountain out of molehill

Silly of Manjrekar to respond to fan goading.

IMO Jadeja neither knows not cares about this so called feud. He outsources all this Twitter/Insta handle posting to his PR team.

He'd be one of our greatest cricketers and I think he is one of yours. Unfortunately he became a bit of a meme at the start of his career but overall he is a top tier cricketer.

So one series defines a player's stature?

What has he done apart from that series which in any case was such a bland one and run fest? Only thing which was interesting in that series was debuts of Tendulkar & Waqar!

In India you must speak English to be considered intelligent by the 'Elites'. They might still admire your trade (sports, singing, acting, whatever), but will rate you only if you speak good English.

Manjrekar was led to believe that he was going to be the next great Indian batsman after Gavaskar.

But Tendulkar and later on Dravid and Ganguly ended his mediocre career. He had the style but not the mentality and confidence to dominate in international cricket.

Since then, he has lived a bitter life and has tried to compensate for his failures by taking shots at Indian cricketers who have maximized the potential and forged far better careers than him.

A complete waste of space and not worth listening to.

May be it was Harsha Bhogle who wanted to take revenge from Manjrekar? :murali :inti

He was poor man's Aakash Chopra. :inti

And Indian fans are so unfortunate who first saw these below average cricketers playing for nation and now listening to their commentary during matches.

and then they have their social media goof ups

The guy has the nerve to question even Sachin Tendulkar. Back in 2005 when Sachin was struggling with his tennis elbow injury, Manjerakar questioned the timing of his injuries indirectly implying that those injuries were phoney.

And then in the 2008 CB series in Australia, he once again harshly questioned Sachin when he missed out on 3 matches. Thankfully Sachin scored 117* and 91 in the 2 finals respectively to shut him up.

My earliest memory of Manju (apart from that '89 series against Pak in which Tendulkar debuted) was his 40-odd in WC '92 against Australia.

He was batting like a dream in that game and got run out in an absolutely horrendous fashion. He and of course Shastri were the main reasons why we lost that game to Australia by a solitary run!

Close to 3 decades have passed since that incident but I haven't forgiven him for that harakiri! Was absolutely devastated for many days post that loss!

Jadeja has been a complete allrounder in last 2.5 years. A remarkable turnaround especially in his batting which has become quite impactful in LOIs since then.

Sanjay Manjrekar only notable performance was in the test series against Pakistan, which was played on absolute roads and where neither team even won a single match. So Sanjay can't stop praising Pakistan bowling line up of that time (which was excellent no doubt) because he wants to show that he scored against some unplayable bowling line up, which can't be further from the truth.
