Two very good tests are developing. In one match WI tail is resolute. Here England is ringing changes to induce stupid shots from Indians. It is working so far.
 
wood to Iyer. Big test. He said in recent interview he will take on the short ball. Let us see what he does.
 
Wood’s reintroduction to the attack is designed to rough up Shreyas, who has been suspect against the short ball in the past.
 
So yet another failure for the fraud of a batsmen in Gill.

His technique and temperament is just not suited against even a half decent opposition (be it limited overs cricket or tests).

Likes of Rajat patidar, sarfraz khan must feel hard done by the continued selection of Gill.

His ego is his enemy. He can very well let the ball go. But he takes it as a challenge and goes after shrot ball. Often times expecting short ball and getting out to elngth ball.

Yes no one can play all short balls but iyer is playing all Balls instead leaving

Kohli, Pujara are ground shot players. That is why they stay a little longer (when in form) Jaiswal should revisit his first class appraoch. He batted like T20 in this Tests. Nothign wrong with that. But he still has to play percenatge cricketer. He is too good a player. Sehwag was largely a ground stroke player and precision placer. That is why he could score a lot of 150s at breakneck speed.
 
Hope these two take the score to par score without losing further wicket. Axar/Ashwin/Jadeja can do some damage down the order. Bharat is a waste piece.
 
76/2 in 20 overs today - will take that after losing a wicket to 4th ball of day
 
These two are actually fighting with Gill for their spot in the team when Kohli comes back. They cant afford to relax
 
Early days but the best young spinner to tour India in recent times is Todd Murphy.

That young Aussie bloke impressed more than anybody else

High pace, very accurate line and length and could tonk the ball as well.

Root bowled a lot of overs in last year's Ashes. He is 5th bowler for England now in Bazball era. He also bowled a lot in the series in Pakistan in 2022, 20+ overs per test.
 
All 3 wickets were gifted. India of 2016-17 would have scored at least 700 here, let's see what these rookies do.
 
Shreyas Iyer can't even relish on home pitches against spinners! India should move on from him...

Rehan opts for the googly and as the cries of 'catch' come as Shreyas goes for the sweep.

Luckily for England, Hartley is ready and waiting on the boundary at deep midwicket to take it.

That is a BIG breakthrough for the visitors.

Is this a serious post or trolling?

Pitch in Hyderabad is generally batsmen friendly with not much variation in bounce and little bit of spin assistance. This one is no different.

All the four batters who got dismissed so far were due to their own faulty approach (there are no demons in this pitch).

And BTW, root dismissed a batsmen who was trying to play t20 style innings which led to his downfall.
 
India have gifted all four wickets, but should eke out a sizeable lead here.
 
Iyer has been poor across formats for quite some time now. Time to move on from him.

But knowing that we're being coached by Dravid, likes of Iyers make merry.

Rahul dravid - (with an agenda and buffoons as assistants) this Indian team has.

Till he is at helm, we will be tortured with more of these inexplicable team selections and strategies.
 
Run rate has stepped up, lead of 15 so quickly. Every run will send Stokes into panic mode. Once lead is 100, i guess game over.
 
India have mauled the English spinners here. No amount of baz ball can save you when you have club level bowlers on show and Anderson warming the bench.
 
Big gap between ball and bat, decision overturned. More frustration for England.
 
This pitch offers a lot of turn. Simple accurate bowling would get you wickets without bad balls

This has always been the case with this track that is pretty good for batting having even bounce and consistent pace.

As usual English press which is cricket’s whiniest bunch (as Sunny G puts it) was in panic mode the moment they saw a ball turn.

Pitches in India turn and there is reverse swing. Seam in SA and NZ, swing in Eng, bounce in Aus, basic character of these pitches.
 
Best Test pitches in the world. No doubt about it.

Only morons with no understanding of cricket think we make bad pitches.

Unfortunately, That’s not how they project our surfaces in their press.

Bunsen burner, dust bowl, under cooked surface, selective doctoring is some of the common excuses they keep ready even before the first ball is bowled.
 
SG ball has pronounced seam. It reacts differently. That is used only for Test matches in India.

Totally agreed.

Just to spite India, some of our friendly neighbors (and their fans herein PP) too resort to pitch blaming (when we do well at home) along with SENA press.
 
ENG 246/10 IN 64.3 Overs , IND 281/4 in 63 - turn which Leach is getting in 64th over in line o stumps indicative of how bad the English spinners are !
 
Either Gill or Iyer will sit out when Kohli is back. Who will be dropped?

In an ideal world, both of them should not be anywhere near our test line up. Giving chance to someone like rajat or sarfraz would be better. But knowing how our think tank (euphemism for rahul dravid) works, we won’t see anything new.
 
Here comes a keeper-bat with a career average of 18?

WHat is he doing in the Indian test team I really wonder. :LOL:
