Did it today.. he needs more chances, he can be off colour in one or two games, but still can avg 40+ if given consistent chances.

I hope we will see more from him if he continue to get those consistent chances in the reminder of the PSL.

someone who's been in and out of the side for nearly 9 years and still hasn't shown any ability at the international level will not become a 40+avg player.

I like the idea of Ahsan Ali but the problem is his fitness. He must improve it to be apart of Mickey Arthur's team. As for Umar Siddiq, he seems to be too legsidish.

It's incredible players are being forced to play in these completely meaningless T20 matches in PSL while being rested in ODI against Australia even though the World Cup is only a few months away.

Resting some of the main players in PSL would even allow for younger players to be showcased like Saad Ali, Saud Shakeel but nope, they are going to play all their main players in PSL because $$$.

I guess the decision is also influenced from the fact that they want to test the bench strength.

So with this decision players will also get rest and some new guys will also be tested.

I don't blame the players. It's their job, they want to make money.

It is the job of the board to keep the players financially stable. They should have been told to sit at home and rest and gotten compensated for it.

What exactly Hammad Azam has ever done or during this PSL ? he does not deserve to be any FC team . And, Hussain Talat has been a failure lately, no need to carry him on, same with Anwar Ali.

I want Iftikhar, Ahsan Ali, Haris Sohail, Amad Butt, M Husnain, Rauf and Ilyas to get a couple of games based on what I’ve seen thus far.

Sarfraz, Fakhar, Babar, Hasan Ali are pretty much confirmed for WC and can rest.

Iftikhar looks a very promising middle order bat. He and Haris can compete for one WC spot (#4).
Ahsan Ali could stake a claim and replace Imam if he does well.
Amad was very impressive in the one game he played. Looks a skillful bowler and can bat a bit so could compete with Faheem for the 4th pacer role.
Rauf and Husnain for the express/X-factor. See if either is ready for the big stage.
Probably give Rumaan a couple of games as well. See if he’s fit for 50-over cricket. Maybe have Umar Amin also open in a couple of games - not convinced he’s consistent enough though.

Exciting times if we are smart about it.

Really really good idea but it will end up bad application. No point to rest batsmen Babar, Fakhar, Sarfraz, Haris, Asif and replace them with A Shehzad, Kamran and Umar Akmal, Iftikhar, S. Butt etc. since not a single emerging batsman got consistent chances.

Rest only bowlers because they are actually match winner compare to our batsmen.

There was no IPL, PSL, BPL, CPL, BBL 20 years ago and players were still financially stable. Our players are becoming greedy day by day without have any significant performances. They want to compete with rich people and their life style.

It's a good decision, I don't want fakhar and sarfaraz playing on UAE wickets if it Can be helped

I saw Iftikhar playing the QeA Trophy 2017 final that was telecast live. He looked like a legit test quality batsman playing against top class bowling on a pitch that had something in it for the bowlers. Think he won the final for his team. Hope he gets his well deserved chances

Same reason why India frequently rotates its players in international cricket esp. T20Is, but their main stars never opt out of IPL. Franchise owners invest millions in their teams and pay these players very high salaries. It is not about compensating the players; it is about the investment of the owners.

No investor is going to pump money in a league where the cricket board forces its players to opt out because of workload.
