LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board’s selection committee is considering utilising the talent pool from the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the upcoming West Indies tour.
Various reports state that Lahore Qalandars batsman Fakhar Zaman, Islamabad United all-rounder Shadab Khan, Quetta Gladiators all-rounder Hassan Khan and Karachi Kings pacer Usman Khan Shinwari are being considered for inclusion in Pakistan’s squad.
Names of players from the domestic circuit such as Usman Salahuddin and Asif Zakir are also under discussion.
A training camp is scheduled for Tuesday where Pakistan’s head coach Mickey Arthur and board selectors would evaluate the player’s performances.
Ahmed Shehzad and Kamran Akmal, the batsman, wicket-keeper who grabbed three honours in the PSL 2017 are likely to be named in the squad for the Caribbean tour.
