After a defeat against India, Rizwan reassured his teammates, saying, "Nothing happens to the players, selectors and coaches will be relieved." This comment upset board officials. The Pakistan team's Champions Trophy campaign ended early due to losses against New Zealand and India, with their match against Bangladesh being washed out. That shows in their action. I am not even surprised. They see cricket for what it is - a venture to make money.

Why do you think they get so upset whenever they get dropped out of t20is? Because they wont get contract to league cricket.

Why do you think somehow players like Imam, Hassan and Faheem end up in international tournament squads?
Its all about the brand deals.

Why does the captaincy of the team cycles between a particular group of players?
To maintain influence over selection and not let each other get dropped.

All the podcasts, paid PR, stat padding just to ensure the place in the team stays.

No cricket, no passion, all about money and power.

Maybe his troops were feeling pressure from coaches and selectors. We don't know the inside happenings of the dressing room. The King can motivate his troops as he sees fit. For now this is conjecture. Let's wait for more news.

It could be. But I wouldn’t doubt it. Rizwan apparently told Zaka Ashraf something like this too during the NZ tour last year. The guy is like a broken record with some of the things that are pinging in his head and he has to bring it to his mouth.

What kind of shameless would make such comments as a leader, what is he trying to say? Don’t worry guys, keep being trash, I will see to it that the selectors and coaches get done so we can keep the gravy train going. The PCB should take immediate action against this parasite.

Respect to the player who exposed 🐍, PCB should award him a plot where the make-up queen lives and then relocate the actor to the barriyah with all the kohteh, his fans can come out to support their humperdoo freely in the open; but don’t get too close to the leg-side off the donkey, off-side is fine, he wont kick you from that side.

Dude stop brown nosing Indian fans and Kohli in every post. Kohli was shamefully laughing and not upset when Pakistan handed India a thrashing in CT 2017 final.

Why is Misbah so hated by Pakistani posters? Yes, he was not an ATG but Pakistan cricket has been mediocre for last 2 decades. I feel he kinda slowed the decline a little.

Defensive mentality. Sticking with his favourites . Tried super hard to bring his region players but they were crap . As coach it was his great idea to drop Fakhar at 4 and promote Rizwan as opener so Rizwan can get a place in side . Rizwan wasn’t fit in t20 team if he didn’t play as opener .
His only contribution is giving a test team a stability due to UAE pitches .

He didn't slow the decline, he accelerated it.

Pakistan has always been a mid card team and after forming unfriendly relations with BCCI it would have only gotten worse + ramiz ensured that Pakistani pitches were so bad the youth lost interest in test cricket altogether.

However before Misbah, one good thing about Pakistan cricket was the idea of playing aggressive and modern brand of cricket, infact India and Pakistan were the first 2 teams to correctly adopt the mantra of t20 cricket during its early years.

Even though afridi was a tulla, the youth wanted to be Afridi so much so that They even made a movie about Afridi called Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi which featured a young cricketer wanting to become the next afridi.

Inzi and Anwar promoted an aggressive brand of cricket ad well and people like younis and yousaf inspired test cricketers and encouraged players to participate in county and play more fc games.

This all changed under Misbah who felt that the correct approach to whiteball cricket is to adopt a classic 1970's approach. This dude values consistency over value and hence lobes the idea of accumulators who can consistently score runs even when said method doesn't work.

He instantly collapsed the t20 team and was forced to retire from said format and 2017 ct team brutally exposed how rubbish misbah was in the format.

Now the youth wants to be Babar Azam aka a meek tuk tuk batter whereas when the youth inspired to be like afridi, you'd have aggressive players show up. Some of them were succesful such as inran nazir in t20 and some of them were not like Umar akmal later on.

Look at some of Misbah's decisons in whiteball cricket

A) As captain promoted batters like asad shafiq into the t20 side at no 3 when asad had no business being in a t20 or odi set up.

B) In his final years kept batting at a strike rate of 95 in t20 and refused to step down until PCB gave him an ultimatum to retire from t20 or be dropped from all formats.

C) Dropped Afridi and Umar Akmal for ct which is fair, but decided to replace them for Imran farhat and Umar Amin?

D) Consistently went in Media and claimed that the best batting approach for pakistan is to have accumulators at no 1 to no 5 and aggressive batters at no 6 and no 7 in odi because he believes that's the best approach to Pak cricket ad Imran Khan used this approach even though IK used this approach only for one series due to comditons. Not for every series. His wc 1992 moto was aggressive from the get go lol.

E) Constantly held camps and encouraged batters in the set up to accumulate, Promoted Asad Shafiq as his main No 3 batsmen and kept stubbornly promoting him despite him avg 24 and 65 sr. Umar akmal use to bat at no 3 and Misbah refused to let UA bat higher then 6.

F) When Sarfraz and Sharjeel came into the odi setup, both performed really well as openers, Especially sarfi during his purple patch 2014-2015 phase, he was the highest scorer in aus odi series. Misbah who didn't like the idea of strikers dropped sharjeel for nasir jamshed in 2015 and pushed sarfaraz back to no 7 and didn't even play sarfi for WC 2015 until Jamshed rubbish forced sarfi to open. Infact Misbah went on media stubbornly claiming that jamshed didn't get chances, which is a hilarious take since it's a world cup, not an experiment

G) Once he got chief selector role, he established the Babar and rizwan duo at opening. His reasoning for fakhar was that even though fakhar won the trinseries for pakistan with fakhar scoring 91 of 46 against full strength aus, he was simply too inconsistent in t20 with an avg of 22, hence someone like rizwan would be better as rizzu provides stability at the top. This is absolutely hilarious take, since the likes of finn allen and Travis head have shown that t20 is crickets most inconsistent format. You want 30 of 11 scores, Not 40 of 37.

h) He promoted multiple members into his team, the most notable being Chacha who is possibly pakistan's worst lower order batter I've ever seen. Infact, Misbah went out of his way to protect Ifti. He realised chacha can't play wrist spin and hence he deliberately hid him vs zampa. Then he made Chacha a lower order allrounder which provided pakistan with an infinite no of 25 of 20 scored.

I can go on and on, I havent even sractched the surface, but it would make this poat way way too long as its already long enough.

Misbah changed the emtire culture of Pakistan. Pakistan may be a medicore nation however atleast they use to habe that afridi attacking mindset before ramiz and Misbah completly changed it. Now the new generation doesn't wish to emulate that.

Thanks, I was always confused why Fakhar is not a regular feature in Pakistani team.
I think moving away from Afridi mindset is very much needed for Pakistan and his idolization has caused the decay in skill level. You can win one-off matches with random slogging but to win championships you need consistency.
Dhoni is guilty of the some of the crimes which you are accusing Misbah of. India was terrible in 09,10 and 12 T20 world cups. We got gutted in 2012 with 0-8.
Afridi was good early in T20 because no one knew how to handle the shorter format, within a decade T20 cricket has matured, Afridi style does not get you wins.

He didn't emulate Imran Khan, he ruined Imran Khan's very approach to cricket.

Imran Khan only adopted the approach of tuk tuk for 40 overs and attack for the other 10 for just One series. I believe it was against England.

The conditons were extremely difficult for just that series hence he decided to adopt this approach. But it was one series.

Misbah and his fans think that this was Imran Khan's entire philosophy when it wasn't.

Secondly Afridi's mindset wasn't slogging. He himself was a slogger yes but it was about aggressive batting.

Inzimam, Saeed Anwar and even Yousaf and Younis Khan adopted this approach.

The likes of Umar akmal, Sharjeel Khan, Imran Nazir are the right players but with the wrong attitude and a rubbish system behind them.

Fakhar himself was lucky that he came in sarfi era. People forget that before he made his debut in ct, azhar ali made him debut at 5 in t20 cause he was mentored by misbah who saw fakhar as a no 5. Azhar also wanted fakhar to debut in odi at no 5. But that never came to be as azhar was removed for sarfi.

Pakistan is a mid card team, and their not expected to be > Australia, India, Sa, Nz or even England for that matter.

But their not that bad that their viewed as a joke. However Misbah and ramiz killed it.

However creating such types of pitches killed interest in test cricket since No fc bowler wants to bowl in such pitches and no fc batter can improve on these pitches if every tom dick and Harry is avg so high that even Bradman would be jealous.

Ignoring the damage on the field and you got to thank him for 07 & 11, many fans never forgave him for that. I think that he went from this personality which appeared level-headed on TV as captain, at least that was the perception, to someone who completely lost his marbles as coach/selector/manager; for the first time in cricket he received the most power anyone in management could ask for and he behaved like a man-child who easily got his jimmies rustled (Heck you saw it live on TV); just look at the players he picked for that AUS tour just to give a retort to the critics who say he doesn’t pick young players. Any tom/dick/harry could have just shown up to play Test cricket for Pakistan by that logic, you need to develop young talent and have an educated plan in place to bring them to the international stage.

Despite his unconditional powers he did not achieve much for Pakistan and he was also on the panel which removed Mickey Arthur, what kind of baqwas that ? This so called educated guy who is meant to be highly principled and what not, used his Chalaki to remove a foreign coach who had actually helped take Pakistan to glory in limited overs.

He ran Amir into the ground and is responsible for the mishandling of his career upon his comeback both as captain & coach, Amir had a professional workload management agreement with Mickey Arthur in place, but when Monkey Misbah showed up, he ripped that apart. Just look at how carefully India manage Bumrah. This moment was interesting because it made Pakistan fans mad and the coaches were still in village idiot mode, saying things like he gave a Dhoka and what not, in hindsight Amir was right because his retirement was a watershed moment for how the coaches would handle their lead pacers in the future and that so called pace battery is more like one of them Chinese knockoffs opposed to Duracell; they pusssss and puuur, and then are out in a flash.

Misbah continues to meddle in Pakistan affairs to this day when he has no right to, whether it’s an official or un-official role, he has influence among key members of the management and players. Pakistan began to open with Rizwan/Babar due to Misbah, he actually helped resurrect Rizwan’s limited overs career when he is simply not equipped to play in these formats and when you look at how much turbulence Rizwan has caused within the team, it all started with Misbah’s stamp off approval. Just as another example, how on earth can some external party dictate where a specific batter should bat in the T20I line up when they are not even meant to be on the payroll ? e.g. Misbah making sure Fakhar Zaman bats at number 4, it’s bonkers isn’t it. And it’s not over by any stretch of the imagination, Misbah is always waiting to offer his unsolicited advices and Pakistan are extremely vulnerable to his attacks every time they achieve a new low, he managed to find a way to reinvent the team to plunge them to new low depths.

He can’t comprehend that life is over for him in cricket, we kept him out the team so long because he wasn’t international quality, the barrel had to get bone dry along with some special events to give him a free run, and now he is making us fans pay for wanting to burn his cricket kit all those years ago.

He needs to remove his vice grip and accept that party’s over Grandpa, time to move on and find a new hobby.
