Result : South Africa v England | 2nd Test | Jan 2-6, 2016 | Cape Town | Match Drawn

Whats sad here is people using religious scripture/words to make a cricketing point. Stay on topic or bugger off elsewhere.

Sad times for the haters. MOTM for Ali, double for Amla and nothing of note for Cookie.

"Hashim, Hashim-Hashim, Hashim-Hashim, Hashim-Hashim-Hashim," :amla

"Moeen, Moeen-Moeen, Moeen-Moeen, Moeen-Moeen-Moeen," :moali

Moeen has done nothing in this match

MashAllah brother, let me congratulate you with all my heart. This has been a tough year for our role-models. Both failed at the World Cup and didn't do anything of note since. :60:

Lighten up and take it easy man, its just a game. Cook should do well when England come to bat. I hope he has a good series and keeps his average up while England lose 2-1. :))

Unfortunately for them none of the SC teams allows foreign players in domestic matches otherwise they should have sent few of them there to develop.

Really? I had no idea, that's a real shame. But while it would be a great learning curve for one Danny Briggs, you have to wonder if SE teams would regard them highly enough in the first place to invest in their development...

English spin success in the past decade rests entirely rested on one county who committed to spinners (and spin friendly wickets) in a way that was out of kilter with the rest of the game here. And a county that is regarded by the ECB as badly run.

I'm okay, Cook isn't even my favorite player and I don't pray for his success, his legacy is cemented in my view. However, it is good to see that people's prayers are being answered. :60:

It's got nothing to do with the subject at hand. Don't need references to any religion to counter a argument.

SA bats too long in this match..,Morris @ 8

Nothing wrong with praying for someone's success, is there. Hating someone coz others love him is just being contrarian, nothing more or less. If Cardus can pray for Trumper to make a 100 and the Aussies be bowled for 137, why not pray for The Mighty # :amla
What legacy of Cook is cemented btw?

De kock gone, could england get a big lead here and still try and get a positive result?

Looks like the new white players in the team were good only as long as they were out of the team.

I don't hate Amla bhai. I have issues with his fans in Pakistan, who pray that he scores runs against Pakistan but we win so that his average is not disturbed. :60:

I have nothing against the man himself. I think Cook has cemented his legacy as an ATG already, there is not much left for him to achieve in Tests other than chasing Tendulkar's records.

That's a different story, you didn't said what is the issue? Is it personal or is it prohibited??

Do I really have to explain that to you? Read the above posts and figure it out yourself. Besides I pointed out the "issues" above.

Do I ready have to explain everything to you? Read the above posts and figure it out yourself. Besides I pointed out the "issues" above.

But I have seen these words used by different posters when talking about Pakistani players as well...so not sure what's the difference here.

What is the problem with the bolded part?

Any references in regards to religion should be used if it means to counter a argument to make a point. When someone says it in a positive way and means it, that's fine, but don't make attempts to put a point across and use those words.

This is what South Africa need to do for the next test:

Drop Morris for Steyn and Piedt for Abbot. They should also drop Van Zyl for Duminy and make De Kock open. Not only will this give them five proper bowling options on what is going to be a green pitch, De Kock won't be overburdened because England are unlikely to bat long on such a pitch. They will also keep their quota in place with Amla, Duminy, Bavuma and Rabada being their four players of colour.

England should play the same team.

Looks like some right macho ******** going on out there. Fast bowlers assuming they can intimidate a short batsman with short bowling and getting angry when he plays it well.

Not often the Umps intervene over verbals...

Class batting so far by Temba Bavuma. SA need Steven Cook in place of Van Zyl and this will be a strong team when 2/3 of the first choice quicks are playing.

Starting to think that there is a possibility that Hashim could declare behind, let England mess about not knowing how to play, then set up a chase on day five, promote ABdV to #3, BOOM!

Doubt it....SA is defensive side.

Nice little knock from Bavuma here, would be funny if england collapse on day 5 like pakistan did in 1st test in the UAE..

Or just keep batting as long as possible and wear out the bowlers some more. Seems a better option to me. The first one is a bit too risky.

If SA had a few hitters left except these 2 than it was possible to take risk and go all attacking in last session but looks like they will have to declare behind or will play the whole session with a normal RR to remove the lead 104 runs.

:)))

Mamoon you are hilarious.

Even a neutral would laugh at this.

Even the beard with good morals is getting hit now :(. What is happening? I thought it was not wise to attack him since he takes wickets when batsmen go after him?

Wow england bowlers will be knackered after this effort S.A should keep grinding the bowlers into the ground.

Bairstow drops Bavuma. England's fielding costs them again !

Temba Bavuma 16 runs away from becoming the first ever black South African specialist batsman to score a Test hundred.

Come on lad, make history.

Should take lead tonight. Bat 48 overs tmrw if possible and then put England in and try and bowl them out in 50 :D

Bavuma needs to get a move on here. Would be great to declare after his hundred and get in ~15 overs at England tonight, shift the pressure back.

Great from South Africa, and dismal from England who would take a draw at this stage I think!

Bavuma was 72 off 79 at one point. 16 off his last 54 balls.

I know a maiden century is a big deal but he needs to get a move on. 10 overs at England before the close of play would put them in a pickle.

Too bad they didn't show up after the first day. So much better than the boring "Sachiiin, Sachiiin" chant.

Neither failed at the World Cup, Ali was arguably England's best player. It was a middling year, I agree.

Bilal7 must be happy,First Amla scored a double ton and Moeen following him on 155

Intrigued to see what happens next. Would be epic if South Africa can get 50-60 runs ahead and then rattle England by knocking off a few of their wickets on day 5.

England's bowlers have produced 17 clear-cut chances on this pitch. Not bad.

Yes, Amla bhai didn't fail at the World Cup. :najam

When did Moeen performed well at the WC? It was just one game otherwise he was quite pathetic

Bavuma definitely has a bit of Sachin in him. Been in the 90s forever.

YES !

WHAT A CHEER !

Bloody hell, that was nervous. History has been made - the first ever black South African to score a Test hundred.

I think Anderson is finally finished. He just can't get that pace up to 140 mark anymore.

Could be that he is only a pick for England or Kiwi matches from now on. Give the new ball to Finn and bring on Wood.

Glory be, Finny gets a second wicket!

This track is no good. Maybe a Lillee or Holding or Marshall or Waqar could get something out of it with sheer speed, but twelve wickets in four days, come on!

Well done bavuma on maiden test 100.

S.A should bat till end of the day and declare now, then again i doubt their bowlers are eager to go out and bowl on this wicket again.

Great stuff from Bavuma, looks like a good batsman.

Finn looked dangerous too and I reckon Wahab Riaz would have done decently here. You do need pace to succeed on this kind of pitch.

Finn averages 28....Wahab 36

LOL! Declared just two behind. Great declaration from Amla. :amla

Amla declared.

But why would you declare, it's a beautiful opportunity to drive English bowlers to the dust.

You're getting annoying with your ignorance now. Both have pace, right? You did watch Wahab Riaz bowl in Abu Dhabi, yes?

Not interested in hypothetical possibilities...based in statistics Wahab getting wickets is less compared to Finn....

England need to approach 2nd inns positively as plenty of sides have made a pigs ear of 3rd inns in matches like this and ended up losing the game.

Funny you say this but I've seen you on this thread 24/7. You're not a Shiv Sena member, are you?

1.Currently in native for some functions, nothing much to do so posting regularly.

2.Only watched in TV during Stokes batting..,stopped watching after Amla bhai started Tukathon....
