Ah I see. I said something similar with regard to Churchill - he was a monster, but we needed our own monster to fight a worse monster.
I have repeatedly stated on PP that I think the invasion of Iraq was a horrible mistake. I supported it at the time. But my views change as the evidence changes.
The “veneer of legal speak” refers to Blair - there is no UK or ICC legislation that could be brought to bear on him. The Law Lords decided this.
If you dig out the thread on Palestine you will see me criticise Israel’s actions, in terms of the Geneva Convention, chapter and verse.
Clear where I stand?
I'm curious why did you support the invasion of a sovereign country that had not invaded your country or threatened to do anything like that. I mean you would ha e been in your 30's with access to information e.g. the order of battle of the iraqi army, the condition of his airforce etc. You would also surely have known what could happen if a centralised govt would fall in a tribal country? Surely? Also do you now in hindsight believe that resistance to the invasion was legitimate?
I believe you have now clarified your stance vis a vis Palestine.
