S7 Edge or Pixel XL

Guys please help!!! I can't decide between the S7 Edge and the Pixel XL.

Problem is I want my phone to have good looks, smooth software and the best camera.

Pixel XL has the best camera right now and buttery-smooth software but it kinda looks weird.

S7 Edge looks gorgeous and I like its edge panel and Always-On display. Its camera is good as well but not better than the Pixel XL.

Both have the same AMOLED display.

Btw please don't mention iPhone 7. I don't like it at all.

Which one should I buy???

I bought an iPhone 6 January 2015 with a contract, know I see all my friends with 6S and 7's.

So sad!

Luckily though my contract expires this January, then I can get the iPhone 7. Also no more contracts for me, gotta wait until they end to get a new phone.

Pixel XL because I love stock Android.


Samsung phones become buggy and laggy after a while, since they have too much bloatware on top of stock Android.

Galaxy S7 Edge. You can always optimize S7 to have fast OS. Google is in its immaturity days while Samsung is an experienced quality phone-maker. Pixel's camera lacks OIS which is still a huge negative even if they've compensated it by everything else. I am not a fan of edge-bending screens, but S7 is the pretty much best you can have in android.

But any phone would go down as an average after 1-2 years, high-end phones are probably worst way to spend your bucks.

In hand feel of S7 Edge is better than 7+ and PXL, 7+ and PXL are too big having same 5.5" screen, bezels are large and ugly. S7E also has best finishing and most premium looking among 3. Get S7E eyes closed.

Lucky you. Pixel XL isn't even available to be pre-ordered in Saudi Arabia. In fact, no ads or marketing for Pixel whatsoever

On top of that, when I started to forget about Pixel (because I have no idea when its gonna be available here) and thought of buying S7 Edge then I came to know that none of the dealers here have the S7 Edge in black.

Not much difference practically, but battery wise S7 Edge is the best, where it is way ahead, so S7 Edge is better overall.

LG was good till G4 and I also like the new V20. HTC probably lost it after the M8.

I think its about different priorities for different people.

My priorities are screen display, battery life/charging time, performance, camera and speed. I don't care much about anything else.

Performance is probably the only place where you'd love to be an iPhone user.

I disagree with the camera and speed part though.

First of all, the camera on the S7/S7 edge is only inferior to the Pixel/Pixel XL. No other camera comes even close to these two.

And Touchwiz UI has improved significantly since the S5. Both S6 and S7 are buttery-smooth and there is no concept of carriers in Saudi Arabia so we rarely get bloatware from carriers in Samsung or any other phone, therefore, even the Note 3/4 still work at the same speed (zero lag) nowadays.

Battery life depends on usage, so I'd rather not compare phones in this regard but Samsung is among the fastest in charging from nil to 100%.

Google probably hired a person whose only job was to make the Pixel as ugly as possible. Pixel is hands down the most ugly premium flagship in quite some while, the colors and the 2010 era bezel are enough to make a person not buy the phone. So please go for samsung

Have you considered Htc 10? I have owned m7, m8 and am currently on the m9, waiting for the 10's price to drop. I consider HTC phones to be the best looking among the lot although many have adopted their style now a days. On the software side I think Sense is only second to Ios in terms of the most buttery smooth experience. The camera is a let down, however, I heard they improved a lot this year but still not the best going around. Unless you are a very expert photographer I dont think you'll see much difference b/w pic quality of flagships now a days.

All 2016 flagships are fine. Huawei P9 is also a fantastic phone which is perfect for day to day use and offers outrageous camera at this price (Probably best camera Hardware+Software).

LG G5 is an excellent phone but LG's are not much reliable though V20 has reportedly improved quality.

Pixel XL looks a great phone to me, Bezel-Less Phones are also showing up as Xiaomi has already launched one while Meizu is also working over one.

In short this technology is a race and competition. Everyone has their preferences and it's upto the user what their preference is and hence decide accordingly.

So since our priorities don't coincide, so our must be along the lines of, which actor promotes it, what head phone it comes with it, what type of box it has..... Right?
