Not enjoyed today, Pakistan losing and prior to this, senior players acting like teenage school girls letting off gas.

Hafeez is allowed to praise Rizwan as far as I am aware. And he's stating a fact.
It seems that Sarfaraz is a bit sensitive to Rizwan receiving praise?
When you watch them you think they are great team mates with all the dost yaari but in reality they are bitter losers. Is it any wonder that during the pressure situations they let themselves and their teams down. Its this badniyaati that has held us back for nigh on 3 decades. The only people they like are the ones that pick them irrespective of performance.
HAFEEZ DID NOTHING WRONG.
He just praised Rizwan and didnt name anyone. Even if his intention was bad, his statement was calculated and didnt warrant a cringy response from Sarfaraz.
The childish response from Sarfaraz and those whose are supporting him are astonishing.
If you object to people praising others, what kind of precedent are you setting??
Any thing can be touted as a statement with ulterior motive behind it. Whats the criteria? You cant stop people from saying what they feel.
Huge issue this if these people will in Pakistan's T20 squad for WC.
PCB needs to sort this out asap.
I'm surprised barely anyone has seen it this way, sarfaraz has clearly reacted to this praise of Rizwan very badly and exposed his own jealousy and insecurity.
If someone praised Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Amir chipped in saying everyone is number one it clearly would show he's jealous. Surprised that Hafeez is being criticized here for merely praising someone who has gotten so much unfair abuse from the media because they all back Sarfaraz

Firstly, Hafeez was taking a shelf at Sarfraz. It is blatantly obvious from his choice of words and tone.
Secondly, Sarfraz has been full of praise for Rizwan. You can scroll throw his Twitter feed and check for yourself.
If he has a problem with people praising Rizwan, why would he do so himself?
People defending Hafeez here don’t have a strong argument. They are acting irrationally and criticizing Sarfraz for the sake of criticism.
There was absolutely no need for him to write the following:
“Wonder how long u need to prove that u r NO1 wicketkeeper/Batsman in pakistan in all formats of the game. Just asking”
It is as obvious as anything that it is a dig in Sarfraz and Sarfraz was within his right to respond.
People reading way to too into it.
Subcontinent players have been using Social Media freely the last few years and lack the nuances and filter suggests naivety on their part.
It seems it's just an extension of a big WhatsApp group to them.
They'll hopefully look back at these snide comments in cringe
I thought we may have had another congratulations tweet from Hafeez today for Rizwan's 50.
Perhaps he thought better of it in that Sarfaraz would have totally lost it after seeing another tweet praising Rizwan.
Not sure whats your agenda at play here considering you are Amir level when it comes to seeking attention. Have you even considered the fact that the tweet did not mention, tag or was not in response to anything from Sarfraz? The tweet simply praises Rizwan on the surface and its good practise to take things on face value unless you know what was going on in hafeez’s head when he wrote that tweet.

For all the naive and the deliberately disingenuous posters in this thread - this is how you “simply praise a player” without taking potshots at anyone.
This what it looks like. Read it a few times so that it can penetrate your grey matter.
Hafeez’s tweet is not an example of “simply praising a player”; it is an example of using the success of a player to take a jibe at someone else.
I am not sure how can one not see the evil intention behind self proclaimed saint aka Hafeez tweet? On the contrary they are quick to blame Sarfaraz for responding. Smh

I initially thought Sarfraz was completely out of order. But it seems like there’s something in the background between Hafeez and Sarfraz. Might even have to do with his friends the Akmals.
I seem to remember there were rumours about senior players trying to instigate a mutiny at the World Cup as well.
Hafeez is a clever man and I think he was making a point using Rizwan as a pawn.
I still think Sarfraz is bang out of order for reacting. But there’s more to this than meets the eye and Hafeez knew what he was doing.

Hafeez started it all...
And sarfraz is a nice guy by all accounts with no major grudge against Rizwan
If you're going to rile up a good guy by "factual" but unnecessary and trollish tweets than he should get all the heat
And sarfraz is within his rights to clap down on this absolutely cringe worthy Individual
And this was definitely a garbage tweet...
Sarfaraz is so sensitive but Hafeez is clearly trying to rile up Sarfaraz.
IMO it feels like Hafeez is trying to get Rizwan under the heat who seems like a good boy and just wants to play. PCT seniors are the weirdest folks.
Hopefully Rizwan stays away from this and focusses on cricket.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sorted out the difference between two former captains, Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Hafeez and Sarfaraz indulged in a Twitter dispute on Saturday after which the cricket board stepped into the matter. “The team management has talked to both the cricketers on this matter. The difference between the cricketer has been sorted out and both of them have been advised to not drag themselves into an unnecessary controversy,” sources told ARY News.
It must be noted here that Hafeez praised Rizwan’s performance in the first T20I and also raised a question on how long will it take for him to be recognized as the number one wicket-keeper batsman in Pakistan.
“Congratulations Rizwan on scoring T20 century. You are a Star, shining star. Wonder how long you need to prove that you are NO1 wicketkeeper/Batsman in Pakistan in all formats of the game. Just asking,” he wrote.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Congratulations <a href="https://twitter.com/iMRizwanPak?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@iMRizwanPak</a> on scoring T20. U r a Star shining star

In reply, Sarfaraz took a dig at Hafeez in a series of Tweets. “Hafeez Bhai Sb, whoever has played for Pakistan from Imtiaz Ahmed, Wasim Bari, Tasleem Arif to Saleem Yousuf and from Moin Khan, Rashid Latif to Kamran Akmal and even Rizwan right now has always been number ONE for the country and have been respected accordingly,” he replied.
“We are all behind Rizwan and wish that he plays many more amazing innings for our beloved country,” he added.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Hafeez bhai Sb, whoever has played for Pakistan from Imtiaz Ahmed, Wasim Bari, Tasleem Arif to Saleem Yousuf and from Moin Khan, Rashid Latif to Kamran Akmal and even Rizwan right now has always been number ONE for the country and have been respected accordingly. <a href="https://t.co/dF7BScOurl">https://t.co/dF7BScOurl</a></p>— Sarfaraz Ahmed (@SarfarazA_54) <a href="https://twitter.com/SarfarazA_54/status/1360341999572955139?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 12, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
“And for the future as well, whoever gets a chance to play for Pakistan, he will be number 1 for the country. We expect nothing but positiveness coming from an international player who has played so many games for Pakistan,” he concluded.
The dispute wasn’t over yet as Hafeez came up with another reply before the PCB intervened in this matter. “Shallow minded approach EXPOSED!” he wrote.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Shallow minded approach EXPOSED!</p>— Mohammad Hafeez (@MHafeez22) <a href="https://twitter.com/MHafeez22/status/1360521264398544898?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 13, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It must be noted here that Hafeez was dropped from the national team for the South Africa T20I series after he refused to join the team on the said date. He was playing in a franchise league in the UAE and told PCB that he will be able to join the bio-secure bubble a day after the rest of the team joined.
Hence, he was dropped from the squad for not meeting the COVID-19 protocols, mutually set by the two boards.
PCB used to have a policy that no contracted player or player involved in an ongoing series was allowed to use social media.
Unfortunately what's happened is that policy has now been relaxed and we have started seeing these sort of incidents.
High time the PCB started to clamp down on players use of social media once again.
Still wouldn't have stopped Hafeez and Amir from tweeting, in this context.
Firstly, Hafeez was taking a shelf at Sarfraz. It is blatantly obvious from his choice of words and tone.
Secondly, Sarfraz has been full of praise for Rizwan. You can scroll throw his Twitter feed and check for yourself.

how cringey can one get? Lol
how cringey can one get? LolSarfaraz overreacted. He even directly quoted Hafeez.
Agenda or no agenda, Hafeez didnt name him and it should have been the end of story right there.
Just look at Sarfaraz' response, its embarrassing. He began naming all the previous keepershow cringey can one get? Lol
No, these are not a strong reasons. Even if Hafeez's intentions were to take a jibe at Sarfaraz, Hafeez did not name anyone directly and that alone is reason enough for Sarfaraz to ignore his tweet.
So if you feel that Rizwan is the best Keeper bat in the country, you cannot say it because someone's sentiments can get hurt? I'm surprised that you of all people are seeing it like this. It has nothing to do with how sarfaraz has praised Rizwan earlier. The tweet named Rizwan and that should have been the end of story.
There have been instances of such competition in other teams as well but they dont act like this and there is a reason why. There were talks about whether Mahela was better or Sanga and many Srilankan commentators put forward their opinions. Never once did Mahela or Sanga go after those people if they named the other player.
When you support Sarfaraz's cringey response and blatant insecurity, it sets a precedent that one cannot praise a fellow player (that too without naming anyone else) without being scared about how other players will feel about it. I dont give two hoots about the intentions behind such a statement, all that i care about is how measured the statement is. In Hafeez's case, his words were calculated and didnt warrant a stupid response from Sarfaraz.
He didn’t just say that Rizwan is the best WK batsman in the country. He also said “wonder how long you need to prove just asking”.
He was clearly implying that Rizwan has been a better WK batsman than Sarfraz for quite some time and was kept out of the team unfairly.
He is not just praising Rizwan; he is using his performance to validate his own viewpoint that he has been better than Sarfraz for a long time.
Anyone who is criticizing Sarfraz for being sensitive needs to put himself in his shows. Anyone in Sarfraz’s place would interpret it as a cheap shot.
Sarfraz has had a dramatic fall from grace and he is obviously regretful over what has happened in the last 4 years.
He had the entire nation at his feet after the CT and had the opportunity to lead the team in all formats for years and become a proper legend.
However, he let it slip through his fingers after reaching a position that every Pakistani player dreams of.
He has received a lot of criticism from the fans over the last few years and every time Rizwan scores, he gets smashed. Sarfraz is obviously aware of all the hate and the mocking he gets from the fans on social media.
The last thing he needs, or the last thing he has to cope with is his fellow teammate taking potshots at him on social media.
It was uncalled for by Hafeez and I do not blame Sarfraz one bit for responding. In fact, he was gracious enough not to respond to Hafeez’s follow-up tweet about shallow character exposed or whatever.
We are not in anyone's head to see how they think. If Hafeez tweets tomorrow and outright denies that his tweet had anything to do with Sarfaraz, how would Sarfaraz prove hafeez's intentions? Where there is such massive ambiguity, the best response is silence or a clever, indirect reply which clearly Sarfaraz is incapable of. Otherwise one just ends up making a fool out of himself.

Where there is such massive ambiguity, the best response is silence or a clever, indirect reply which clearly Sarfaraz is incapable of. Otherwise one just ends up making a fool out of himself. Since his new found form, Hafeez has started to think of himself as godsent! He tries to across as someone who is wiser than everyone else and holds this authority to comment on every subject matter.
Someone should really show him the mirror and let him know of how ordinary his own career has been.
Why does he feel the need to make a case for Rizwan and especially while, indirectly but completely intentionally, putting down Sarfraz?
Hafeez is one of the most annoying cricketers but is also fast becoming one of the most obnoxious ones too. Idiot!
Why should Sarfraz sit back and take that cra* from Hafeez? Hafeez thinks that he can get away with anything these days. From taking on PCB with the whole Covid testing saga, to blatantly lying about the selection for the SA T20 series, he's totally off the boil. Needs to be put in his place. Agree that there's no need for Amir to chime in
A lesson I have learnt in life: You're ONLY as insulted or humiliated as you believe if YOU choose to react to it. Most people neither know, nor care.
If Sarfraz hadn't reacted to the tweet, how many would even have noticed it?
Because Sarfraz reacted to it, now it's all over the place.
However, we all have our threshold beyond which we snap. In Sarfraz’s case, he couldn’t take potshots from his fellow teammate and he had to speak for himself.
Hafeez has actually gone out of his way to criticize Sarfaraz on a couple of occasions over the last year or so, saying that he would hide down the order, calling him a toss karne wala kaptaan, etc. So there’s a bit of history there too.
He didn’t just say that Rizwan is the best WK batsman in the country. He also said “wonder how long you need to prove just asking”.

Well according to Hafeez he called the PCB about his tweet and the response.
The PCB media department responded to him and said that he had not done anything wrong in his tweet and that he didn't need to apologise to anyone.
Don't care for either Sarfaraz or Hafeez . . but difficult to trust anything coming from a guy who said if PCB had told him that he needed to be back by the 3rd, he would have been back when every other person knew what the selection criteria was (he was implying that he was just not aware that that was the cut off . . but another player involved in the league did come back in time) . .

This applies to everything. If you are victim of racism, if you don’t speak up no one will know that you were discriminated.
If you are a victim of sexual harassment and you don’t speak up, no one will know that you were harassed.
If we use this logic, then no one should retaliate to anything, because it is the most effective way of ensuring that others don’t find out about it.
However, we all have our threshold beyond which we snap. In Sarfraz’s case, he couldn’t take potshots from his fellow teammate and he had to speak for himself.
Would it have been gracious of him to ignore it? Yes, but at least Hafeez now knows that his jibe did not go unnoticed and it could to prove to be a deterrent in the future.
Best not to trust most of these guys
All as bad as each other.
These clapping from sarfraz and the drmaybazi he does is just to show for the cameras and pretend.
This proves, sarfraz had no reason to reply back. Yet he did and that created problems.
Hafeez said nothing wrong. He can praise whoever he wants but sarfraz took insult.
Amir the corrupt bowler came in for attention seeker.
Rizwan has proven himself, yet their is criticism by karachi media and everyone waits that he doesnt perform. He scored a freaken 100 in t20.
Hafeez said nothing wrong. Sarfraz feels insecure just cause rizwan was part of jafeez and mosbah gang from sngpl.
His performance is there for evrryone to see.
Sarfraz is fake and he will be the first in line to congratukate rizwan just for showmanship.
He burns from inside, pathetic.
Instead of being jealous he needs to improve his game
The Safraz defender brigade is pathetic.
Hafeez did NOTHING WONG here, just praised Rizwan.
Who the hell is Sarfraz to barge in like that in a condescending tone and take digs at Hafeez? For what? Just praising Rizwan?
And we have real Snowflake s on the forum who are defending SRfraz even here. For feeling insecure about Rizwan's praise.
Sums up the toxicity of Misbah fans. One can understand when you compare:
Misbah's 2013 CT vs Sarfraz CT 2017
Misbah's 2015 WC vs Sarfraz's WC 2019

Both were equally poor. 2019 looked better because the format was more forgiving.
Sarfraz’s team playing in the 2015 World Cup would not have achieved anything different.
Logic doesnt work on them unfortunately.
Yet we're told that Misbah is this great saviour. One of the biggest fables in modern history.

Wasim Khan about this issue:
"Its down to professional cricketers to have discipline because at the end of all this, its Pakistan's name which suffers disrepute; So we are talking to them now and will also speak to other players but there isnt much more we can do about this; We are trying to treat them like adults and professional cricketers but at the end, there has to be some responsibility on them too"
Why would Pakistan's name suffer disrepute and why would they talk to them and they need to show responsibly when Hafeez already said the PCB told him he did nothing wrong?
Hafeez hasn’t even mentioned Safraaz. In his view rizwan is the best keeper. What is wrong with that? Why are all Safraaz fans getting sensitive about it??
Do you think Safraaz is a better keeper or batsmen than rizwan?? — exactly.
