Shot was there to hit but should not be hit on this situation hopefully he understands he has responsibilities with bat too
 
Sarf is very contrary to the statements he likes to give out in his press conferences. You'd think he was Ricky Ponting planning to win the world cup for a 3rd time.
 
Should be dropped from the side, not contributing and not worth place side on merit.
 
If he was half as hard on his batting as he was on his team most of the team. We would be somewhere better right now.
 
Can’t believe he’s not opening, how dumb does the management have to be not realise he’s not a lower order batsman? Get him at the top where he can rotate the strike!

Hypocrisy at its Peak!People used to bash Misbah for not batting up the order but in case of Sarfaraz,its the management's fault.
 
He needs to concentrate on his batting and realise that he is batting at the most crucial position. Improve or be dropped. Make Fakhar captain and play kamran akmal as keeper batsman (atleast he scores runs). Even as a massive defender of sarfraz it is getting ridiculous now.
 
Very lucky that this tullabaaz is captaining one of the premier sides of International Cricket .

I will take the HK Keeper Anshuman Rath over this unfit overrated waste of space.

Oh bhai misbah kaha say agayea? He’s should’ve never been in the squad in the first place.

I blame sarfraz too, he’s cost us the game with the toss, and by not opening!
 
Can't think of a great captain in history who didn't lead through their own performance and since being made captain Sarfraz has been rubbish with the bat and average as a keeper.

Unacceptable. But be honest what other choice in the 11 is there to captain the side? Maybe Fakhar but not really to many candidates.

Guys, chill down - abhi to party shuru hi hua nahin. Let him play in SAF, then ENG and finally WC in UK - his numbers should change .................. from what it is now.

Yes very big supporter of Sarfraz but really disappointed with his batting form... his batting has reduced to worse than tailenders. Not good enough for no.5 at all

But, he is leading from the front. You have to realize that, in PP at least majority Indians are against Kohli's Captaincy & majority Pakistanis are praising Sarfraz's Captaincy .... this doesn't happen by chance!!

There's no place to hide in the line uo. Him and Malik are supposed to anchor this batting and to keep going at a brisk strike rate.

But if Misbah had been the captain instead of Sarfaraz, today,he would have been taken to the cleaners.I love how the times have changed.Previously,it all used to be Misbah's fault then Umar Akmal/Ahmed Shehzad.Now people have a hard time finding the "mujrims".

Worst player to ever captain Pakistan team for such a long time. I have always said he relies heavily on the shoulders of other players. He is such a meek character who can never be a fighter. He can only shout at his own team mates and make himself look like a joke he is.
 
The kind of a shot he played showed his street level cricket mentality. Someone obviously needs to tell him he is not some Afridi-style entertainer but captain of the team who has to take responsibility and lead the team from front. There was no need of that shot but we have seen him countless times play stupid shots to get out even in tests. Which is another reason why I don't think he is a captaincy material. He just got lucky with young Pak players raising their game in the champions trophy and giving him a big title otherwise even Mushrafe leads his team better than him.

Lesson to learn for future. Never make a player captain of the team if he can't even justify his place because he becomes biggest liability for the team.
 
Damn he can give serious competition to dhoni chaha who is performing similar since last 5 years for us.

Well yes, Misbah was the sacrificial goat for everything wrong. Even though he led from the front.
 
With Sarfaraz not performing the middle order looks weak. I never rated Shoab Malik as a player and he proved again today that he does not deserve to be in the team. He looked very shaky with two dropped catches and that horrible run out. We should have replaced him a long time ago. Middle order will remain a concern for Pakistan is Sarfraz doesnt pick up his form.

But why can't the captain stand up to the coach and say we must select 2 spin bowlers for these conditions? Or is he not the tactican his fans say he is?
 
Whether it be him be batting at number 6 in tests or 5 in ODIs he simply not good enough as a player to merit playing in such positions, add to that our weak batting line ups and the lack of team runs when we get into early trouble is always apparent. I can see some bad team results for pakistsn against Aussies and kiwis soon due to useless skipper not scoring runs and also imbalance in the team.

Yes, failure of coach/captain. I used to think he's a tactician, lol. Far from it he is.

Mickey Arthur is also leading us on a wrong path by playing so many 'experienced' accumulators.
 
What I dont like about Sarfraz is the way he shouts at his own players. In the last game against Hong-Kong, Amir misfielded one and he was giving him a mouthful. He was giving mouthful to a player who probably has 10 times more calibre. Sarfu need to understand, all players are adults...you need not be like a hitler on field. Not long when one of his team mate shouts him back.

I mean Dhoni captained India for years but was never used to shout at its own players. Neither great Imran Khan did nor Kohli does. Maybe Mickey Arthur needs to ask him to calm down. Showing aggression in cricket dont mean shouting....you can show agression by field settings, bowling changes etc.

Imran used to give choice Punjabi gaalies to his fast bowlers though.
 
Wait for him to score another career saving 50 against the mighty Afghanistan, just like he was boasting about that 50 in that T20 against Scotland

Barring a purple patch in 2014-2015, he has been a poor player throughout his career.

He was simply lucky to hit form at the right time when Misbah was about to retire and Azhar failed to convince as the ODI captain in 2015-2016. It is a shame that he has no competition now, and it also sums up how bad we have been when it comes to producing quality WK batsmen - it has certainly been our Achilles' heel.
 
In all honesty he's an old-fashioned number 7 in ODIs and Tests.
 
A huge issue for Mickey and selectors.

They can not drop a captain that has done fairly well and Sarfraz is a dud these days with the bat.

In a way Kamran Akmal is right about selectors being biased.

That’s not fair. Imran became PM for winning one WC, this guy already has won 1.5 WC (I take CT as 0.5 & U19 WC obviously is there) - he is already achieved enough to hold top two posts of PAK’s constituency - both Predident & PM at one go.

His on field inspirational dialogues & body language is worthy of great national leadership indeed.
 
Should he have come in earlier today vs England in T20I?
 
A very poor cricketer that hit a purple patch around 2014/2015.

Doesn't even make any of the teams on merit, he would never be in the side if he wasn't captain.
