Scotland replace Bangladesh at T20 World Cup 2026 (Update @ post#3202)

After Pakistan, is BCCI now targeting Bangladesh cricketers for exclusion from IPL as well?

  • Total voters
    53
Also, demand these things from BCCI:

- An unconditional and sincere apology for disrespecting Bangladesh.
- 5-match Test series home and away (away series must take place outside of India). Total of 10 Tests. All profits should go to Bangladesh.
- Get Bumrah tested for possibly illegal bowling action.

:inti:inti
Also add a dozen checkered lungis for Younus to your wishlist while you are at it.

Am I the only one who is surprised by the level of, to put it mildly, rage on the both sides of this issue?

I'm connecting this reaction to surprise/relief at the outcome. Of course I could be wrong.

Wasn't the outcome always on the cards? If you were expecting a different outcome, can you provide the reasoning? not why it should have been the outcome.

The power of BCCI at ICC has been solidified in may critical decisions.

IMO, 2 events stand out.

Imran Khawaja: In spite of shenanigans by Shashank to pot up a non name clown as head of ICC, it got shut down so badly, it wasn't even funny

Then there is the 2023 revenue distribution. By every possible metric, it dwarfed the "Big 3" and the rest ofteh boards fell inline with barely a whimper, other than the usual lip service from PCB.

given this, why exactly is the level of rage here?

Yes , kick out Bangladesh is half job done , BCB will face financial section by BCCICC :klopp :kp
BCB will cease to exist or BCCI will place a “Dhurandhar” to run it. Only 2 outcomes.:inti Paperless man and copy paste man can spray whatever nonsense they want all over the forum, hum maze lootenge bas 😭

Kuch nahi milega, 👍

Scotland at the T20 world cup should be an exciting occasion but it all feels very holo at present. Don't think it'll make much difference in Scotland though, 95% of the population will continue without even being aware we've got a team playing international cricket.

I really feel sorry for Bangladesh but sadly for them all cricket is controlled by India and there's nothing anyone can do.

So good news for BD fans is that we don't have to watch bunch of BD vs Zim, BD vs IRE, or BD vs Afg matches any time soon in the near future.

Sri Lanka with its political instability and some Tamil issues is really also not far away from being blacklisted by BCCI.

Thats not the discussion here why animosity exists

BD security situation also arises from same political animosity.

Millions of Illegal BD in India has nothing to do with it. BD's National team can be subject to political hatred which was displayed by kicking out Mustafiz from IPL team. So you cant say India's Security concerns were fair and BD's not

If there was a general hatred for BD then these illegals would be the most easy targets than the BD Cricket team. But Its quite fascinating to see how the victim mentality Of Muslims works in general.

No one said its General Hatred. Indian Journalist Vikrant Gupta Visited Lahore before CT 2025 and he was perfectly safe. So Argument can be made why not Indian team? it was Specifically communicated by Indians that ICT as a group is more vulnerable to Alleged threats they face in Pakistan. Its quite a fascinating that in a mirroring situation , bigotry of Indians come to fore like that and they will try to justify how their refusal to tour Pak for CT is fair and BD's not

On a serious cricketing note, this was probably Bangladesh’s best shot to get to at least semis in WT20 . Tournament is held in subcontinent conditions, it would suit their spinners and batsmen and they also have decent seamers. Afghan, Pak, SL, Bang are more or less in the same ball park in these conditions. Catch a couple of gora teams or if super lucky even India on an off day and who knows. They blew a great opportunity here.

2027 WC in SA 🤣 let’s see how far Bangladesh will get in those conditions.

Having said that foolish decision from a cricketing perspective.

No matter how much Indians pretend, they were indeed shocked to see BCB's perseverance. All they were expecting a U-turn from them at the very last moment to ultimately become a laughing stock for others.

Good move, it sets a good precedent and those who thing BCB will pay dearly for it are mistaken as whatever Indian propaganda media tries to project they never pulled out or boycott but instead were sidelined by ICCBCCI themselves

ICC set a example for minnow Bangladesh and Pakistan in the future event's that will be host by india - either Play in india or will be kickout by BCCICC .

Ishtiaque Sadeque resigns as BCB director

Ishtiaque Sadeque, on Saturday, resigned as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The BCB's game development committee chairman tendered his resignation to cricket's governing body in the country, citing family reasons for his decision.

"It is true that I am resigning. I believe that I am unable to dedicate the time required for such a large community like Game Development, where I am currently serving, because of my family and personal commitments. I cannot provide the effort necessary to accelerate Game Development. For this reason, I feel a personal sense of regret that I am not doing justice to this position. That is why I am resigning from here," Ishtiaque told Cricbuz on Saturday.

"The claim that I am leaving because of any misunderstanding, relationship issues with anyone on this board, or due to any hurt feelings or grievances, is completely false. Everyone who was with me tried their best in their own way," he said.

"I believe that whoever succeeds me in Game Development will be able to take Bangladesh's cricket forward. They have my full support. Even though I will no longer be on the board-I mean, they will have my complete support. Thank you very much, " he added

Ishtiaque, as one of the closest ally of Aminul, came to the board during the last election. It remains to be seen if his resignation will follow the walking out of some other directors as well.

In few years they will become bankrupt. This is just beginning :kp

Yes we expected them to be like Pak cricket board. Take that as a compliment though. Most people in Pak board are all probably friends and family and look out for the $$$, so they kind of have that accountability.

Bangladesh on the other hand is like kamikaze, this way or that way regardless of consequence. However, that’s not always a good thing.

So you have a point.

You are a glass half full guy aren't you :) Trying to present a disaster into some kind of achievement, and creating an artificial worry on behalf of Indians :)

I feel they will be back in line in maybe a year. Maybe 2 years tops. Don’t see it being long term.
I want them to be more resolute. With zero quarrells, fights, animosity between two countries i never liked the idea of playing Bangladesh given that they refuse to come out of tier 2 standard. They need some relegation. This is good. In the last 2 years
Bangladesh across formats have played

19 against SL
14 against Windies
11 against Afghanistan
9 against Pakistan
8 against India
7 against zimbabwe
5 against Ireland
4 against Netherlands.

Look at the odd man in the list. India. If you remove that it will be tier 2 clashes.

You guys have lost a big chunk of IPL viewership already on top of lesser eyeballs for upcoming WC. The quality will definitely further regress for Indian leg, given BD were a strong side in T20I and most importantly all over the world you have Garnered bad will. But that's ok and a new normal for you guys who claim to be USA of cricket.

Let the facts sink in later

WCA Statement on Withdrawal of Bangladesh from Men’s T20 World Cup

Statement from WCA CEO, Tom Moffat:

The withdrawal of Bangladesh from the T20 World Cup, and resulting absence of a valued cricketing nation from cricket's pinnacle international T20 event, is a sad moment for our sport, the Bangladesh players and fans, and one that requires deep reflection.

Cricket is at its strongest when every team and every player is treated with respect, supported appropriately and consistently, and able to participate on fair terms. The game is at its best when all participants are genuine contributors to its success.

In recent times, the WCA has become increasingly concerned by broader trends in the sport, including agreements not being honoured, rights being eroded, and a lack of meaningful consultation with players and their representatives – all of this amounts to a careless approach to people that should not belong in cricket. It also highlights significant issues with the game’s existing operating model at global level. These issues, if continued to be left unaddressed, will weaken trust, unity, and ultimately the health and future of the game we love.

This moment provides an opportunity for reflection across cricket. Rather than allowing division or exclusion to take hold, we call on the game’s leaders to work with all stakeholders, including Governing Bodies, leagues and players, to unite the sport, not divide it, and in the shared interest of the game’s long-term health and success.

On behalf of players and their associations around the world, we continue to offer our support to the Bangladesh players, who miss out on an opportunity to compete on the world stage, and to their association (CWAB). We reiterate our commitment to work constructively with the BCB and all other stakeholders to strengthen and grow our game globally.

It is indeed a sad day for cricket, all said and done. For posters that are saying quality will go down with BD no longer participating in it or 180 million viewers from BD will not watch etc., all of this is correct and agreed.

However, keep yourself in the shoe of ICC and honestly tell us what other option they had? They tried to reason with BCB for few weeks now but they were not willing to budge. Had ICC accepted BCBs absurd demands, it would created a norm which would have been dangerous to the future of this sport. Tomorrow England or Australia will say they will not travel to India or Pakistan due to food poisoning and want their games hybrid in their own home country. Then what? What would ICC do then?

So ICC had absolutely no choice and had no other option.

I know this is a Pakistani forum but the biggest crook in all of these in PCB and that Moshin Naqvi guy. Pakistan had no beef in it, they are even not coming to play in India and already got an agreed hybrid arrangement. There was absolutely no reason for them to poke their nose and instigate the matter more for Bangladesh. Now that they did, I just hope they stick to their original stance and boycott from this tournament to show solidarity with Bangladesh. Lets see how much brave they are. ICC also should be ready for a hefty fine slapped at PCB. Atleast there is some rationale what BCB is asking, but this begane shaadi me Abdullah deewana was harqat PCB has done should be taught a lesson.

Wow nice essay buddy, a simple Q; Why did India not travel to host nation in CT 25?

Why would an average indian fan care who watches IPL. Pakistan has been sidelined for year from IPL. ON youtube pakistani analysts follow even Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare. Even i was not fully aware of how well Isan Kishan did in the SMAT lol Pak youtube analysts made sure i knew it. I am sure average fan will watch IPL. WHy would they want to change their lifestyle for one person.

So the issue is 'why India got hybrid model and not us' more than real security concern. Je baat.

India never set foot on Pakistan since 2008 Mumbai attacks and they stuck to their stance come what may.

This is not the case for Pak and BD. Pak toured here in 2012, 2016, 2023. Heck Najam Sethi even wanted bilateral series with India few years ago with Pak home games played in UAE and Pak touring India. Less said about Bangladesh, the better. The tour here every year.

So BD & Pak reason to not travel India is conditional unlike Indias. ICC is not stupid and they understand it and made an exception last year. Personally speaking, they should not have even accommodated India and played the entire tournament in Pakistan without them. I said the same thing last year as well. Now, Broadcasters probably will not allow it but that is a different issue.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

41st page of Indian wailing for the BCB boy cutting the useless & redundant T20 WC

This thread has a potential of going to 1,041st page of Indian wailing if PCB boycotts this useless tournament too

🤣🤣🤣🤣
out of 41 pages - you and Bro @sweep_shot 's bromance along with your default vitriol and venom on every aspect of India alone produced about 30 pages  :D:LOL:

Just a polite inquiry from the Back-benchers association ;

Since you are the resident expert on India, have travelled there, have relatives etc....:

- If India is the worst imaginable place for Muslims, and Pakistan Bangladesh are the absolute defination of Utopia/paradise for muslims, the very epitome of peace & harmony etc...
- Why are Indian muslims not queing up at Attari-Wagah border or @ dawki/petrapole or Sabroom border crossings or tearing down the fences to get into Bangladesh/Pakistan?
-Or approaching the Pak and BD consulates in every other country with asylum requests?
- Why are Bangladeshi's so desperate to illegally fence jump into India at great risk of life and health?
- If Bangladesh is the very epitome of peace -Would Shakib Al Hassan get into his country without getting arrested?

Lastly, if the tournament is 'useless' as you have said - No doubt, the begaane Abdullah's will enjoy the Khatte Angoor when the tournament gets started - with or without India's eastern or western neighbours..

Next step should be to dismantle the entire cricket setup of the Bangla kitty kats.

Their entry into cricket was due to the charity of India (Jagmohan Dalmiya) and now time to kill them off for good....

Let's get it done...

Rashid Latif urges Pakistan to boycott T20 World Cup

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has again urged Pakistan to withdraw from the ICC T20 World Cup, warning that the tournament would lose its credibility if Pakistan do not participate.

“If Pakistan don’t go, everything will be toppled. It won’t remain a World Cup,” Latif said. “There can be matches like Australia versus India, but the World Cup level will be destroyed. The World Cup will be finished.”

Latif was responding to recent remarks by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, saying the comments suggested Pakistan may already be moving toward a withdrawal.

“From today’s press conference, it looked like they are walking on that path,” Latif said. “When he says he will speak to the government, I feel that conversation has already happened. This is just about extending the episode.”

Latif praised Bangladesh for maintaining their stance of not playing in India, saying it demonstrated clarity and resolve.

“By sticking to their position, Bangladesh have shown they are clean and clear, keeping their country in mind,” he said. “Now for Pakistan, it’s time to stop talking and take action.”

He also alleged political influence over Indian cricket administration, saying the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) operates under the influence of India’s ruling BJP.

Latif said Pakistan’s absence would significantly reduce global interest in the tournament, particularly India–Pakistan matches.

“At least 50 percent of people want to watch India versus Pakistan,” he said. “That interest will die down.”

“If Pakistan also join Bangladesh, then things will come to the bargaining table,”
Latif added. “If Bangladesh are alone, they will face sanctions. But if Pakistan pull out too, it won’t be a World Cup — it will just be the IPL.”

Latif said the India–Pakistan rivalry attracts attention beyond cricket, citing examples from junior sports and athletics like Javelin events.

“If Pakistan pull out, the news will go worldwide,” he said, adding that the India market plays a major role in global broadcast revenues for cricket boards.

“Just imagine if Uganda replaces Pakistan — India playing Uganda in Ahmedabad to a full house,” Latif said jokingly.

Like I said previously, with 'well wishers' like Rashid Latif, Pakistan cricket doesn't need enemies. The guy doesn't even talk like an ex Pakistani cricketer, he talks like some random emotional Pakistani fan walking down the streets who has no skin in the game.

Their entry into cricket was due to the charity of India (Jagmohan Dalmiya) and now time to kill them off for good....

This is true. I remember reading several articles on this and how Jagmohan did so much to spread cricket around the world, with great focus on assosciate cricket.

Did BCCI inform ICC of it's decision with less than a month to go before the tournament?

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Indiots thing that world is a Bollywood movie. BCB has a time machine. It could have seen a BD Muslim player getting abused and SRK harassed by the Indian bigots in advance

Of course BCB will address the security issue when it takes place, not months in advance

🤣🤣🤣🤣

What is the next step for the BCB?

They took a stand and stuck with it. Good for them. What next?

They are going to lose WC revenue. I am sure they are not going to get a cut of the WC26 revenue. That is a significant amount of $$$$ lost.

After what has transpired, I am sure BCCI is not going to travel to BD for any bilateral series. Not in the foreseeable future. Which is also a significant loss of $$$.

Given the above two, BCB are going to take a huge hit to their finances. This affects a lot of people in the BCB ecosystem. Most of whom are innocent participants.

- Why are Bangladeshi's so desperate to illegally fence jump into India at great risk of life and health?
.
They are not. There are smugglers, on both sides who cross the border illegally
But in 2026 no Bangladeshi is going to India crossing the border

Instead of being furious at their loony Govt for this ridiculous decision to pull the team out of a prestigious WC, Bangladeshis think they're engaging in some heroic Gandhian resistance to big-power injustice. What paindoo fans

I am sure those who prefer status quo are in a position to tell others what they should do in face of injustice.

THis is potentially how much Scotland can make.

What is the status quo here ?
In this case, BCCI deciding to not visit country they don't want to visit and forcing those countries to visit India. Though that's just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to the thuggish behaviour of BCCI.

Actually till now I believed the PCB to be the most worthless and incompetent cricket board in the world. I was clearly wrong.

Hope Bangladeshis enjoy watching the tournament on TV! The whole tournament will be crippled if not for their viewership. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
