He cant play leg glance or flick from what i have seenGood scores so far.
Nice range overall.
Weakness : when bowled into lower ribcage.
He cant play leg glance or flick from what i have seen
Would not mind him batting at #6 ahead of Imad in ODIs.
Shaddy is better than Iftikhar.
But I am not sold on him in T20Is, he is not good enough.
He has hit sixes on legside
Shadab is inconsistent but I’ll take him everyday of the week over Cha chaWho are you not sold on shadab or ifti? If you are saying ifti then I agree.
Shadab is inconsistent but I’ll take him everyday of the week over Cha cha
They are competing for 2nd all rounder spot
Performing in the PSL is different to international cricket.
This doesn’t make sense. If performing in domestic games doesn’t matter how are you going to select players for national side? Just select them from u19s?
In PSL you face some of the best bowlers in the World so if you can perform here consistently you are certainly good enough for Pakistan.
Shadab Khan's passion reminds me of the Shoaib Akhtar's days. Good for Pakistan cricket
He has hit sixes on legside
Would be nice to free up one of the middle order slots for him at 4,5 followed by Iftikhar, followed by Imad, and then bring another batsman in at 7/8 who can power hit
Performing in the PSL is different to international cricket.
He has always batted well in test match cricket and is not a player to bat in slog overs where he has normally got his chance in loi
Can he clear the long boundaries in Australia? Clearing 62m boundaries in Pindi is one thing..
Would not mind him batting at #6 ahead of Imad in ODIs.
Shaddy is better than Iftikhar.
But I am not sold on him in T20Is, he is not good enough.
How big are the boundaries normally 80M ?
How often has Rizwan played/batted?So far in PSL Shahdab has done much better than Uncle Iftikhar & Mohd Rizwan. He should be promoted into the middle order.
So you can say for certain that Shadab will be scoring comfortably off Starc, Cummins,Bumrah, and Boult?
By all means try Shadab at 4 in international cricket. I am just being cautious.
How big are the boundaries normally 80M ?
Nowhere in world in T20 cricket are boundaries that big. It's always around 70m
Whenever Shadab has been given a long time to bat, he has scored, whether it's in test or ODI cricket.
Yes, I still remember his match-winning 4 (24) against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup when he came to the crease in the 20th over.
So you picked 1 instance. Bradman scored a duck in his last innings, so what's your point.
/My point is that Shadab is a highly overrated player who is not a top/middle-order batsman by any means.
So similar to what you get in psl
He’s played well but the 60m sixes here would be caught in the deep in Australia. He’s still no power hitter.
Clearly backs himself more in batting than bowling plus he has already displayed remarkabke technique in tests on tours of SA and ENG
I think it all depends on how much he is willing to hard work and improve. He has his basics in place except strike rotation may be against quality bowlingHe did send a few deep in the crowd today, nobody else have done it, including the foreigners.
Yes, boundaries are short.
And all of it doesn't automatically mean he'll become Rohit Sharma in international cricket.
But he has shown himself to be a reliable batter. Won't be a big hitter in intl cricket, a just a bit better than Imad Wasim.
I cant remember many good performances against top opponents with the ballAverages 20 with the ball in T20s.
Those are legendary bowling figures.
My point is that Shadab is a highly overrated player who is not a top/middle-order batsman by any means.

Lol, hitting sixes for fun in PSL and you compare him with Aamir and Riaz. Either this is pure hatred or you know nothing about batting.

But but he is a tail-ender, these are fluke innings lol. Every one who understands a bit of batting can see that this guy had potential and can play proper cricketing shots. If he has the right attitude and work ethics that is a other discussion.
Enjoy these false hopes against pathetic PSL bowling and fielding. I have seen all that I need to see regarding Shadab at the international level.
Are you referring to him outperforming both Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail with the bat in his 5 Test matches?Enjoy these false hopes against pathetic PSL bowling and fielding. I have seen all that I need to see regarding Shadab at the international level.

So a glorified tail-ender at the international level is batting like de Villiers in PSL, and then we are told that PSL has the best bowling among all the leagues.

Brilliant post its just that posters dont like it when proven wrong so they have to find new excuses. The kind of absurd opinions flying around on Shadab's batting and downplaying his performance in this PSL just because of biases and personal likes/dislikes is absolutely ludicrous!
He is the 2nd highest run scorer in this years PSL.
He has the highest average and the highest strike rate for the top 10 run scorers in this years PSL.
He has also played well in test matches against good teams, good attacks in tough conditions when most of our "actual batsmen" have failed . .
I am not saying he has become a great all rounder or whatever. But he has improved, its evident and you have to be delusional to not admit it . .
Criticism is good when its objective and devoid of emotional judgements! I have serious reservations about his bowling which is becoming more and more ineffective! but to read such opinions on his batting is insane . .
I would bat him one down in T20 WC and give him the license to kill. Kid has all it needs to be a champ and needs to be backed up.
Kami - no other option at the moment
Babar
Shahdab
Haider Ali
Would be my Top 4 for the WC.
