One of the best openers in recent time has been getting flak from the Indian Media and its fans recently, half is justified, while the other half isn't.

Whatever the case, Drawn has a hunger for these ICC events.

He top scored for India in the 2013 edition, which was played in more testing conditions in the same country compared to the 2017 edition.

The left-handed southpaw also took bowlers apart in the 2015 cricket World Cup, scoring a fluent 70 odd vs the arch rivals.

I have a feeling that Dhawan will silently strike fear in Pakistani fans hearts with his knock come this Sunday. He has little pressure for this occasion as fans will often look to Kohli to perform.

If pakistan don't spill any catches, they should be able to shut him down fairly quickly

He has a odd peforming pattern. Isn't consistent throughout the year and has a bit rohit sharma like reputation. But come ICC tournaments, he always has one or two significant clutch performance for India.

So i would be watchful of him. Wouldn't overestimate him but also wouldn't underestimate him.

Getting him out will be Hafeez's only useful contribution in the game.

Lol if this guy played for Pakistan, he'd already be the 2nd best opener they've ever had.

I think you could say there are critics of most of the Indian batsmen picked for the Champions Trophy. Most of them are out of form. There's a hope that they up their game come the Champions Trophy.

Shikhar dhawan will silence his critics , rohit sharma will blast us away , virat kohli will smash us..

Looks like india are going to score 500

He can silence his critics if he gets away with a dozen edges, 20 play and misses and a couple of dropped catches.

Dhawan is lion hearted. He can surely up his game in big matches. In fact he has done so a couple of occasions. It doesn't matter if he does so edging or being fluent if strike rate is respectable.

Dhawan does not perform in group stages. He performs in the knockouts which is a complete antithesis of Rohit.

so many questions over his selection in CT squad ..imo easily most underrated ODI player

Batting avg of 44.36 strike rate of over 90 .... 10 hundreds in 78 matches

those are top class stats.. just for comparison Gambhir had avg of 39 and st 85 with 11 hundreds in 147 odis

supposedly out of form Dhawan's last few innings ...68, 126, 78, 1, 11, 68, 125

He is already emperor of champions Trophy.

Indeed he is brother, but he has to win it for team India and not bottle it, needs to show the world that he is the God of ICC events, better than Ricky, better than Gilchrist.

Dhawan HAS to win it for team India, if he has a poor outing then his critics will have a field day.

68, 125, 78 and 46.. These are the scores of Dhawan in this CT. What a big game player he has been for India.

Leading run scorer in CT 13
India's leading scorer in WC 15
On his way to become leading scorer or top 3 scorer in CT 17 too

And fickle fans were hoping for him to be replaced with Rahul :))

Rahul is another ATG batsman in the making but he is replacing Dhoni after the finals. I have a feeling Dhoni will bid farewell to his Indian jersey in an emotional speech, deserves it, has helped Kholi win the champions trophy with his support.
