Should Naseem Shah play Test cricket?

no alternative in the squad ATM.....I would give him a go again....he did well in some spell.....although his very first spell was wayward...... I think he will play

The saviour! The man who will bowl to the perfect plan for get out Kane Williamson

Lol... I accidentally posted it without completing....
I think we can have a look at...

Zia ul Haq
Ehsan Adil....

In near and distant future..
Hasan Ali..
Shanawaz Dhani
Arshad Iqbal

What I look these players will form our attack..

Saheen
Naseem
Arshad
Hasnain
Hasan
Dhani
Zia and Adil...(both are not in good books of selectors though )

If he can maintain average pace of 140+ with few of them going over 145, then he should be persisted with.

I thought taking wickets was the only reason to be persisted with in tests.
He should be in the team only if he takes wickets regarless of the pace he bowls at.
If he plays 2nd test, he has to take wickets. Otherwise it will be his last test for some time.

Applying your theory, we should drop Abbas in 2nd test.

Ofc Naseem with his height will have more chances of taking wicket if he bowls quick.

Dropped for the Pak v SA Test series - hope he can make a comeback.

From PCB:

Fast bowler Naseem Shah was not considered for selection after complaining of a niggle in his hamstring. He will shortly commence his rehabilitation programme at the National High Performance Centre.

Most likely he has been dropped without declaring it publicly, so as to make sure he doesn't feel the pressure.

He needs to get his mechanics and run up sorted before coming back.

I can get why Naseem was initially selected, but it was a bad decision to persist with him for so long. He's just too raw

Need's a couple of seasons in domestic cricket to really refine his bowling

You don't develop by getting hammered by top international batsmen over and over again. You develop in domestic cricket

Chin up lad. Plenty of cricket to come in your life InshaAllah

He had enough chances now needs to work in the NHPC and work hard in domestic competition.righly dropped from tbe squad

Well they said he was struggling with a hamstring injury and that's why he was left out, but the reality is that he was fully fit and has been dropped.

It seems the selectors were just being kind to the young man regarding his dropping.
