Should Shahid Afridi have mentioned Kashmir at the toss?

Ironical Anurag Thakur is the one to say the guy has been spitting garbage from the day he got the job.

Also Lala has freedom of speech similar to next time or last time Bangladeshi players mention "Freedom fighter and Independence 1971" stuff ,we can merge the thread to get a better understanding.

I first heard about babar azam's talent almost 4-5 years ago from a friend of mine here. There was no mention of him on even PP then.
 
It's really a story about nothing.

Many Kashmiris do support Pakistan, maybe because they don't like the fact they are surrounded by one of the most complex heavily militarised zones in the World. Afridi just stated a truth that maybe bitter to swallow.

In any case it's just sport, why do some Indians get so sensitive about it ??

If Bangladeshis or Afghans support India over Pakistan I wouldn't care. It's not a war ffs.

Mashrafe Mortaza said he dedicated a win to the freedom fighters which shows bengalis have not forgotten for all the atrocities their people were subjected to... part of life move on stop the crying..

And outside stadium i.e. in Kashmir. Even though people are disappointed with the performances of the team, still nobody misses a ball of a Pakistan match.

Many Indians and Pakistani have played for England,Australia, New Zealand, s.Africa etc.

If you're suggesting no Kashmiri has played for Pakistan then I can't neither confirm it or deny it.

I really don't who kashmiris have you met in real life. Let me break it for you 99% of kashmiris support PCT may be you u hv met someone from that 1%.

People who have not visited Kashmir know more about it than the people who actual visit the place and talk more often to actual people of Kashmir. :)

The support was imagined in 65 and 99 too. Still some lessons are not learnt.

Well it's kind of like saying a lot of Muslim Indians are here to support Pakistan :)

It's totally different if an Indian Captain touring Australia says that they have a lot of support in the crowd thanks to expats.

I know someone who has spoken to an Indian Army officer. He told him that the place where he was posted, there were Pak flags posted all over the place.

I have heard Hyderabadi muslims support Pakistan back in the 90s. Don't know if it was because India sucked in the 90s and they needed to rally behind what they saw as their second team or they were just being anti-India. My childhood friend who is a muslim who is pro-India BTW once told me wouldnt it be funny if we held up a Pakistan flag during a Indo-Pak game. It would be nice if we held both India and Pakistan flags but I thought that was a little strange. You wouldn't see me hold a Nepal flag when India and Nepal play each other. Also a BD coworker who is a nice guy once told me BDeshis liek India more than Pak but he was supporting Pak in a match over Ind. Things get a bit murky when their religion is involved.

And you are saying Pakistan Army and their pashtun "freedom fighters" in 1947 are nice guys here. Remember long before India made its move into Kashmir, Pakistan funded a Pashtun-heavy tribal fighters into Kashmir (which was then independent and neutral to both Ind and Pak) in 1947. They severely targeted the hindu and sikh communities for ethnic cleansing). Even then Nehru didnt react. Nehru deployed his forces only after the Kashmiri King fearing this threat signed to India. Not saying thats a good thing for Kashmir but dont tell me India is evil and Pakistan is the good guy here.

Indian muslims supporting Pakistan are a minority.

Lot of support for pak I was in the stadium there were lot of chants jeetega Bhai jeetega Bhai pak jeetega and mostly kashmiris were present in the stand where I was sitting about 90 % were Kashmiris

OOH.... what a feeling of sadness for the plight of people of Kashmir... Man... just read what 'Fire Bird' has messaged w.r.t the history of Kashmir.or google it.
Even after India & Pakistan got independence in 1947 ,Kashmir remained an
independent nation ruled by Hari singh. That means Kashmir's people had started to lead a peaceful , free life with out any problems or unrest in the
independent nation of Kashmir after the long periods of unrest and instability caused by British rule and partition in neighbouring India ,Pak etc. It was then that PAK army for some reasons attacked kasmir.

Now ... people like you are crying that Indian army killed innocent people in Kashmir and that KASMIR needs to be freed from India and made an independent nation to restore the normal life in Kasmir.but the irony is that Kashmir was an independent nation in 1947 at the first place till PAK
army invaded it and started the seeds of long term turmoil in the region.

So much for your claim of peaceful life and freedom for the people of Kasmir.
i would call it 'crocodile tears' at its very best.

When Pakistan was apprehensive of touring India because of safety concern then why would you give such statement which are likely to stirr up/irk our nationalist groups.

As a captain, your job is to win matches on Field and be as politically correct as possible off it.

I don't know why the Indians are getting so heated.

My friends from the Kashmir valley attended the game with their fellow Kashmiris in large numbers. I have pictoral evidence but obviously can't use on here without their permission.

Move on.
 
Non issue imo. Kashmiris can support whoever they want and apparently it makes no difference . The hearts of Kashmiris are not gonna win you matches against India Lala :) :srini

Kashmiris, Punjabis, Gujratis, we all love you in unison.
 
Talks about Kashmir, talks about Kolkata, and then you are playing at Mohali where the crowd has been quite friendly it seems to the Pakistan team and no mention of them !

As a Lala fan, I feel let down that he didn't even mention the Mohali crowd for their support.

He must be under tremendous pressure to prove his loyalty to Pakistan. :(

From what i noticed majority of local mohali Punjabi crowd was supporting nz and aus. Kashmiri on the other side traveled to Mohali to support Pak
