Not denying that such teams were already coming to Pakistan, and also being paid heavily for it. Credit should be given to previous boards of Najam Sethi and Zaka Ashraf. But major teams made their return due to negotiation and leadership skills by Wasim Khan. I am not a fan of all his ideas, but I admit, he gets 100% credit for using his contacts in England to bring English team to Pakistan eventually, and also the SA team. No one takes that credit away from him.
I have respect for Zaka ashraf too, and najam did good by introducing psl, but he did sell his soul with the whole big 3 fiasco.

Major teams have made their return not because of his leadership skills; they have made their return because the minor teams were used as guinea pigs to test the waters and gauge the security capacity of Pakistan.

Once these minnow players and other retired players playing in PSL came back from Pakistan alive, these major teams and big players built the confidence to tour Pakistan.

Shane Watson refused to play in Pakistan in PSL for 2-3 seasons but once those “railu kattas” survived, he finally mustered the courage to come to Pakistan.

The major teams would have agreed to tour Pakistan by 2020-21 anyway. Wasim simply found himself at the right place at the right time and does not deserve any credit.

I wonder if the PSL fiasco will push him over the edge and he will walk.

He's had to put up with a lot of rubbish during his tenure and the incompetence of some of his colleagues and the people PCB had employed and had to work with for PSL 6 might be the final straw.

I hope it isn't, but it's a realistic possibility.

Wasim Khan has done a good job, lets not make him a scapegoat, this is the fault of the franchise owners who would threaten to pull out of the PSL due to their clout. In India if a franchise owner did this then they could happily say goodbye and look for other sponsors but in Pakistan its a bit of a monopoly who has the money and power in the country, so we dont have as much "choice". If ARY or GEO say goodbye that doesnt leave us with many options and they know it.

I don't think that is necessary true now. Multan Sultans got sold for $6.35 million. Surely more corporate giants will be interested in owning a franchise now. The likes of Afridi and Akhtar have expressed interest in owning a franchise

Wasim faced the music last PSL and this PSL as well but where is Mani? At least Wasim is man enough to come out unlike Mani.

And of course many have been waiting for this opportunity to attack Wasim Khan and point the finger at him.

Unfortunately some idiots have now given them this opportunity.

For a wise PCB chairman, this could be a good opportunity to make a note of all those within PCB who gang up on Wasim Khan.

And then slowly get rid of them down the road.

Matter of fact, it will be nice to chop the head of snake by firing all of them, in one shot.

ANd how is anyone wrong?

ALot of money was invested in PSL. HBL has invested alot, and while last time they suffered due to a suspended PSL, this time they couldn't bare any mistakes.

Waseem Khan is the one leading this and is the one incharge. Offcourse he will get blamed. Sarfraz Ahmed, or Imran Khan are not going to be blamed because they are not incharge of PSL.

He was very easy going with this, and with the amount of financial damage that PSL is going to suffer, he will have to be blamed.

I am afraid, HBL might ask PSL to do opening bidding of the PSL title rights which might go for less money with what has happened. PCB created this situation now.

Wow, than again, we have PM who does this so offcouse the people of his country will think along the same lines.

In a democratic set up, you dont just slow get rid of people who disagree with you.

PSL has alot of stake holders involved, offcourse this cancellation will lead to criticism to the top body.

People still have no idea about the damage that has been done here

Here we go:

Pakistan Cricket Board's head of medical panel, Dr Sohail Saleem has submitted his resignation to chairman Ehsan Mani following increasing criticism over the abrupt postponement of the Pakistan Super League 6 this week due to COVID-19 cases.

PSL was on Thursday postponed after six cricketers and one support staff member tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the cricket board to announce an inquiry into the fiasco.

A spokesman for the board confirmed that Dr Saleem has sent his resignation to the PCB chairman but no decision has been taken on its acceptance.

Very good point.

Those that are against Wasim will show themselves right now, hence they need to be culled because they are nothing but poison and only have self interests.

They like to leech off the pcb's pay roll for doing nothing, which is the reason why they hate Wasim Khan.

Used as guinea pigs? Come on! First you say that it was all because of the minor teams such as Zimbabwe SL, and credit goes to najam sethi for that. Then you say they were used as guinea pigs. You seem super confused. You made two different points on same one issue, lol. Thinking before writing, I have stopped taking your post seriously after the guinea pig part.

Yes he should. It is yet another feather in the cap of the most incompetent PCB administrator ever.

He got the job through his sycophancy and by buttering the right people and did the “I left England to help Pakistan” drama to get into the good books of the supporters.

He expected the ex-players and the media to fall for his scam as well which is why he has always been crying about the hostility and criticism that he has received.

He is looking for a way out anyway unless he gets a pay-rise which he clearly does not deserve. He has been out of his depth since day 1. All talk and no show.

He needs to be shown the door as soon as possible.

Besides, dual passport holders shouldn’t even be in these executive positions. He doesn’t have stakes in Pakistan and if things go south, he will go back to the UK which is his safety blanket and his little insurance policy.

Same goes for Ehsan Mani who has been sleeping throughout his tenure. He does nothing other than drink tea in his office.

Time for these UK imports to go back to the UK.

Let's be honest, the only reason you bash Wasim Khan and Ehsan Mani 24/7 like a broken record is because it's an extension of your phoney anti-Imran Khan crusade. Yet YOU voted for said Prime Minister in the 2018 Elections, claiming you couldn't look your mother in the eye if you didn't vote PTI :))

Receipts since many here suffer from amnesia: http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/s...-the-2018-Pakistan-General-Election&p=9830602

So enough of this attention seeking nonsense. Now I'm not one of those blind jiyalas who'll defend individuals for political agendas. The domestic season and home internationals were conducted relatively smoothly in Biosecure conditions - but they were directly under PCB auspices.

PSL is more nuanced - integrity of biosecurity requires buy-in from multiple stakeholders including PCB, PSL franchise owners, local and overseas players. I think Mani and Wasim deserve criticism for their soft touch on the franchise owners and players, allowing the PSL Biobubble to be repeatedly violated.

There's also a deeper rooted issue which is many Pakistanis had a cavalier approach to the pandemic from Day 1. Our people regularly flout SOPs in public, stemming from social media misinformation, illiteracy, anti-intellectualism, and poverty. Pakistan's politicians set a poor example - holding rallies flouting social distancing rules. Even the PM is seen not wearing a facemask sometimes.

PCB have definitely created a loss of trust, and now there's no margin for error if Pakistan's to continue hosting cricket at home. However lessons must properly be learned instead of playing stupid political games.

It is not that hard to understand.

No one was willing to come to Pakistan between 2010 and 2015 apart from some retired players XI in 2012 when the likes of Jayasuriya etc. turned up for a couple of exhibition T20s.

As soon as Sethi got involved with PCB, he made strides towards opening the door for the return of international cricket by convincing teams like Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, West Indies etc. to come Pakistan.

Cash-strapped boards were provided financial incentives to play in Pakistan. This proved to be a big boost and helped change the perception of the security situation in Pakistan.

The big teams refused to tour at the time but once they saw these small teams go to Pakistan and come back alive, they gained confidence.

The restoration of international cricket, just like the success of PSL, is Sethi’s legacy.

Of course it is political. Imran appointed two sycophants and people refuse to hold them accountable because of people allegiance.

It is the same reason why everyone has a problem with Sethi even though he did a very good job overall. In the last decade, PCB had two main agendas: establish PSL and initiate the process of restoring international cricket in Pakistan. He delivered on both fronts.

This nonsense of him not replacing balls in domestic cricket and not improving the pitches and bla bla means nothing because reformation of domestic cricket was not the main agenda of PCB at the time.

One can imagine the bhangra of Wasim and Mani would have established PSL and initiated the process of reviving international cricket in Pakistan.

You offer nothing substantial to your point. You downplay his achievements and use him as a scapegoat for systematic failings. Who are you going to blame for the fact that many of the facilities are sub standard and the training/medical staff have a very poor reputation from past cricketers.

Using Imran Khan appointing him as some excuse is a little silly, considering Sethi was appointed by Nawaz Sharif (Which makes sense why you have a soft spot for him). Sethi's outlandish, selfish and careless comments at PCB management for any shortcomings also suggest ulterior motives for Sethi.

Wasim had brought much needed awareness to the situation in Pakistan Cricket, especially in England.

The fact it took Wasim only a short time to bring the PSL to Sky Sports Cricket and some decent HD Coverage abroad speaks volumes of the bigger picture.

You also won't see Wasim Khan stopping to the pathetic level as some of the ex manageent.

A competent administrator can focus on more than one thing at a time so that's not much of an excuse. It's like saying we should praise a doctor for treating the patient's cancer despite ignoring their renal disease, heart failure and hip fracture.

Sri Lanka's Board have recently launched the LPL - does that make them visionary administrators too by your criteria ? No, because all other aspects of their cricket is rotting.

One cannot cherrypick the positive aspects of a regime and ignore the negatives. Like Mani and Wasim deserve praise for domestic reform and criticism for their handling of PSL6; Sethi can be credited with launching PSL and condemned for allowing FC cricket to deteriorate to the state where matches were ending in four sessions on his watch.

Wasim Khan has a lot to answer for as unfortunately the buck does stop with him. He may have learnt a harsh lesson about trusting people blindly in the firm but he really should have been on top of this, especially given the importance of the bio-secure environment.

I think he is really conflicted between wanting to do something really good for Pakistan Cricket which he cannot do if ceases to remain in the position, something he might not get to do again in his life and resigning because of this debacle

Also while yes the buck stops with him but is it rationale to expect him to micromanage everything? In the professional world most of the times the managers, higher up's will let go of junior people, staff below them to save their own behinds

I think the thing to understand is that the post of chair is shared between both Mani and Wasim. Not as if i'm a Wasim fan boy but at least he's faced the media on this problem rather than Mani who hasn't made any statement from what i've seen.

Wasim can't be superman and police everything, he is within his right to delegate tasks to people below i.e. the medical team in this case. However, what both Wasim and Mani must answer is who approved the frequency of tests (from what i heard they ran a test only for Fawad when the news came out), who gave the green light on a 3-day quarantine (unheard of) and who's bright idea was it not to book a full hotel?

Surely Wasim was shown all these plans? Like all of us, he must have asked the same questions?

I would like Wasim to answer all these questions.

You are absolutely right bro, everyone has a manager and in this case it's either Mani or Wasim who would've approved this. I feel a thorough investigation of the hotel (in situ) as well as the review of the SOPs needs to be carried out along with the duties of the individuals. However, this won't be professional investigation.

At the end of the day Wasim's future if he wants to continue will be in the Board of Governor's hands and the Chairman's hands.

At the moment the pressure is increasing on him to be removed.

I guess the report can't come soon enough for him (if that is that it shows it was by and large the franchises at fault).

Uncomfortable days ahead for Wasim Khan.

Wasim is going absolutely nowhere, unless he himself wants to.

I think what he's done for Pakistan domestic cricket has been big alone and on that evidence alone he should be retained. However, like i've said time and time again Ehsan Mani is also a chairman and he should also be held accountable but is nowhere to be seen.

There are still lots of questions with this big soap opera of a mess but it's a case of tune in next week for another episode of "When disaster strikes: Pakistan Edition"

His days are numbered and it couldn’t be better for Pakistan cricket.

He has been balking on a new deal for months because he wants a pay-rise, and after this humiliation, it is hard to believe that he is going to get a better deal.

He is a political appointment so the chances of him getting sacked are low, but people should brace themselves for Wasim walking away after his contract expires.

He has already exposed himself as someone who with a very thin skin who cannot take the heat.

That is why he always crying about facing hostility and criticism from the media and the ex-players, and he is going to have a hard time coping with all of that in light of the recent events.

Only financial incentives will convince him to stay but as a I said above, he has basically walked himself out of a better contract after the PSL debacle.

Wasim fans will tell you that him leaving would be a disaster, but the reality is that the sky will not fall over if/when he leaves. Life will move on - the said reality is that Pakistan cricket is the poster boy of mediocrity with or without Wasim Khan.

While we talk about Wasim, it is also important to talk about Ehsan Mani who has completely faded away in the backdrop after the appointing of Wasim.

He is a senile man with no presence and energy. He serves no purpose as the Chairman and takes dictations from the higher ups. If Wasim leaves which he should, Mani should also follow suit. There is no reason why he should survive this disaster when he is equally responsible and guilty.

Wasim Khan's failure to implement any kind of policies over the management of the biosecure environment cannot be excused by stating that it would have been micromanagement if he had taken it more seriously than he did.

It was the single biggest risk for organizing the marquee tournament in the PCB's annual calendar and the Chief Executive of the board can do no less than ensure that he was on top of it. Any excuse is frankly a pathetic cop out.

It is never about one man. Wasim Khan is not the first CEO of the PCB and nor will he be the last. Yes, life will go on if he goes but there is nothing for anyone to gain from him going right now.

What happened was bad - why it happened can be blamed partly on the PCB, partly on the franchises and partly on the players. But it really isn't an earth shattering event. Many sporting events in the last year have had covid outbreaks. I would actually praise the PCB for recognising the problem and taking a difficult but decisive decision. Everyone should learn from this and move forward.

I can just about guarantee that the same outcome would have occurred regardless of who the CEO was at the time. Unfortunately for Wasim he finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, he may not be able to navigate the treacherous desi political environment he finds himself in now.

Yea but this is the second time and this was clearly due to gross negligence. Wasim like i've said is not a superman and can't police everyone he's got delegates and they are equally responsible as well. This was a collective failure all round but I have to say I am sadly displeased with the negligence of Javed Afridi and really showing no care along with Azhar Mehmood who is a senior man and inviting people over to his place for a birthday bash.

In any corporate company/entity, whenever there is organisational failure which this PSL fiasco, The CEO has to resign.
It happened with Barclays/WestPac(Australian bank) scandal. The buck stops with the CEO, even if he was not directly responsible. What is the job of being a high paid CEO then. It comes with the whole and sole responsibility of successes and failures.
Unfortunate for Wasim, but for his mental health it is better to go back to UK and be with his family.
Subcontinent is not a place for thin skinned administrators. You need hard nosed people like Dalmiya/Ganguly.

Absolutely.

Wasim Khan must resign. He is the CEO and he needs to pay the rise.

But he is thin-skinned anyway and cannot take the heat, so hopefully he will run away after his contract expires.

Can Wasim Khan find a job anywhere - even in England, after this episode? Colour me sceptical.

Can Wasim Khan find a job anywhere - even in England, after this episode? Colour me sceptical.

Ofcourse he can. If Tony Hayward the ex Ceo of British Petroleum can find a job after the oil spill in the US, this is nothing

Can Wasim Khan find a job anywhere - even in England, after this episode? Colour me sceptical.

He will be running some county again, but his aspirations to lead the ECB in the future - for which he was using PCB as a springboard - are certainly over.

He has proved that he does not have what it takes to run an international cricket board.

Why is Wasim Khan getting all the blame, when Mani hasn’t faced the music once? Come forward when it’s happy time and when it’s hard times shy away. Wasim at least has guts to face the music and honestly I feel he’s done a lot of great but if there is negligence on his end for this then that’s upsetting.

I am the CEO for my health organisation that is government regulated. Coronavirus is one of our biggest risks / priorities just like it is for PCB.

I am also the person responsible for assessing any coronavirus risk within my organisation including for staff and clients. I know its very 'me me' but I hope you see why as I wish to add a different perspective to this saga.

We have had many reported cases and have had to manage weekly testing for state, clients, manage the priority vaccine programme etc etc and then deal with positive cases and also outbreaks, in our case defined as more than one person in one building.

A member of staff told one our managers that her boyfriend who she lives with had a positive coronavirus case but did not have any symptoms. My moronic manager advised the member of staff to continue and not self isolate in the workplace, which caused everybody to be tested, staff shortages due to self isolation - you get the picture. Th big 'but' is that it was not brought to my attention by this manager and somebody blew the whistle to the regulators who have rightly come to investigate. Now manager has been rightly dismissed but I am not going to walk the plank even though I am the CEO and the buck stops with me.

Bringing this example to the PCB saga then there are so many facts I would want answered before making judgement that I hope the board of governors consider. Points such as:

- what does PCB policy say with regards to self isolation for positive cases? Who signed off for 7 or 3 days and was it ever brought to the CEO attention? There must be a written policy surely on this?

- have any the poisitive tested previously been tested positive in say the last 90 days?

- is the test done in house or by a private lab and who does the results go to? The PCB CEO office or do middle management?

- does the PCB CEO get a daily report to manage the coronavirus risk and if not then who has been appointed to be head of the virus risk?

- when did PCB CEO find out about the outbreak and could anything have been done sooner such as stressing to all about social distancing more firmly?

- there are so many people involved such as players, coaches, laboratories, administration staff etc. Are there any inconsistencies

- Has the franchises themselves got a legal health and safety responsibility to manage coronavirus risk as they give out the player contracts and possibility considered as employers or is it joint responsibility with PCB or solely PCB

There are many more questions I would like answered before I could form a decent opinion on whether PCB have been massively inept let alone blame the CEO Wasim Khan who has already done outstanding work and put Pakistan Cricket back in the mainstream from isolation. We are also not dealing with a doughnut but a genuine MBA graduate who has managed large organisations before but even I am sure he is capable of getting it wrong.

I hope you guys can appreciate the perspective I have added as we are dealing with governance, legislation and so many little details.

This guy is very cunning and coward. When problem arise he goes to hibernate and boasts about himself when there is any positive signs. This guy has lack of any leadership quality.

This is what everyone else keeps saying that where is he hiding? One person can not manage all of this and there needs to be a collective responsibility.

Its a collective failure. We need to stop this blame game

As the CEO, he is responsible for the collective success and failure.

If PCB would have pulled the PSL off successfully, people would be praising Wasim Khan and not calling it a collective success.

They would not be praising the franchise owners for their contribution.

We all know that if Imran Khan was in the opposition and a PMLN or PPP appointed CEO was running PCB, he would be demanding his resignation and giving examples of the west and how the CEO always resigns when a disaster happens.

Agree.

But the problem is the knives are out and when there is such a failure then the people at the top have to take responsibility.

In all honesty I only read Dawn for Pak news and I don’t see it being such a big issue, don’t think he will resign.

He may not resign but may yet decide not to extend his contract and who would blame him?
Actually I know who'll blame him, the ones calling for his resignation

Working in a deeply badniyat environment filled with Mamoons where people don't even bother or care when the likes of Sharifs, Bhuttos, Zardaris openly loot plunder the national treasury, kill opponents, honest whistle blowers, reporters, critics but in deep badniyati take their knives out, raise the volume up ruthlessly and demand someone like WK to resign over a much minor goof up.

Would someone really blame WK for moving on from this environment?

This is not a minor goof-up. It has made Pakistan cricket a laughing stock again and could potentially disrupt Pakistan’s hosting capacity with teams refusing to play in Pakistan until the pandemic is over.

It is a sack-worthy goof-up that has badly exposed Wasim Khan for the incompetent, weak and clueless administrator that he really is.

Some journalists implying that Wasim Khan is to blame for the PSL situation. I think its an unfair assessment.

It's really the responsibility of the planners and Wasim as well.

Not really, it was an unrealistically quick turnaround time for them to relocate the whole tournament to another country. The only thing for which they can be criticized for again is the messaging around the potential resumption of the tournament after case numbers had started to climb last month.

Time is up for him. First, he destroyed so many domestic cricketers' livelihood and then flopped massively in trying to host the PSL in Pakistan.

They still had time to plan, and one would think ok if cases are climbing would it really be wise to resume the PSL in Pakistan? What can we learn from the recent case in India?

You must have a plan B and regular meetings to plan it, the fact that they are "surprised" just goes to show they didn't implement a fall-back plan.

First the PCB medical panel shot themselves in the foot and now the planners/organisers who again clearly aren't doing their job nor chasing PCB seniors on advise.

Time is up for him. First, he destroyed so many domestic cricketers' livelihood and then flopped massively in trying to host the PSL in Pakistan.

To be honest this is not entirely his fault again but is only partially his fault. There must be some level of organisation in the PCB and with that planners. The fact that the planners didn't implement plan B is their fault and they must be copping the blame for this mostly.

He got manhandled by Afridi, Sammy and Wahab. There wasn't a proper bubble, all kind of useless activities were happening in the hotel where they were staying. He is the top brass of the PCB, Ideally, he should have been the one to resign after the massive flop.

Again i don't think you quite understand how an organisation works. The CEO in this case Wasim is head and he delegates these tasks to the rightful owners (commonly like any company) and it's up to them along with their supervisors to approve/oversee measures. The failure of all this can't just be blamed on Wasim but the medical panel which it rightfully was and as a minimum their chief medical guy was asked to resign (another way of saying you are fired). Wasim is not a super policeman where he can overlook everything, and while we blame him the onus should also go on Ehsan Mani who cowardly runs away from any responsibility bestowed on him.

I’m not saying Wasim is absolutely awful. But when something has gone wrong, fans of his will find every excuse to not blame him. Not gonna blame for being unable to shift the PSL to UAE in a couple of weeks. But he does have blame for appointing Misbah as coach and some blame should go to him for not maintaining the bio bubble and not having clear guidelines in place for the bio bubble.

India allowed spectators for second match of England series despite the threat of Covid looming over.

Wow, than again, we have PM who does this so offcouse the people of his country will think along the same lines.

In a democratic set up, you dont just slow get rid of people who disagree with you.

PSL has alot of stake holders involved, offcourse this cancellation will lead to criticism to the top body.

People still have no idea about the damage that has been done here

lol at “democratic set up”.

This is a work place environment.
Employers vs Employees situation.

If the Employer has the right to fire any of his employees then this is how it is.

If you don’t like such an employer, don’t sign up with them and find work somewhere else.

It has nothing to do with democracy.

That Dr. Sohail guy was in place before Wasim Khan was hired.
The job was given to the doc who failed to deliver - and rightly so, got fired.
Nothing to do with “democratic set up”. lol

Matter of fact, finally somebody had the courage to start the cleaning up process in PCB.

So, a big THANK YOU Wasim Khan.

I hope Wasim Khan fixes the one big mistake that he made by hiring Misbah.
I would like to see Wasim Khan letting Misbah and Waqar go for good at the end of their current contract.

Wasim Khan has the right and power to do so under the contractual terms.
“Democratic set up” has got nothing to do with it.

Not getting good vibes from WK at all. Ever since the PSL bio secure bubble fiasco and then the reports coming out that the PTV deal was hogwash, he has completely gone into a shell.

I think he has decided that the moment his tenure is up, he wants out. He has been away from his family as well.

you seriously dont understand how the firing policy works do you.

You dont get to fire someone just because they disagree with you. If this happens, the effected party can take you to court.

You really dont understand how offices and organizations work do you?
You always need proper reasons for dismissal, and even if you do, the fired person will still be on contract.

No one has power to do anything they want, just because someone criticized you or you dont like someones face doesnt mean you can fire them.

Stop living in loony world.

Also, Misbah isn't going to be fired, he will do his contract, only thing that will happen is whether his contract will get renewed or not. With all the loling, i seriously wonder if you know what firing means or not.
Why would someone fire a person whose contract is about to end.

Also, the doc wasn't fired, he resigned after being requested to. If he was fired, he could had gone to court and take the issue there as it was somewhat unfair to make that doc the scapegoat for everything.

Waseem Khan has been really poor. We all go crazy about the fact that he is a foreign person, but the guy has failed.

You have 2 psls being delayed. Infact, he ended up allowing the news of 2021 PSL being delayed again be published, that was such a ridiculous mistake.

The PTV deal has been rightly pointed was hogwash indeed. The domestic cricket structure has been destroyed and he couldn't speak up to Imran Khan.

Azhar Ali, Misbah and Hafeez had more guts and went to the PM direct. This guy was to scared to talk to the PM about it. Azhar Ali lost his captaincy job because of standing up for the players.

Looks like it's going to be some more pain for the anti-Wasim Khan brigade if the PSL goes ahead in Abu Dhabi.

Misbah is the cousin of IK not Wasim Khan.

Mani needs to go. Useless timid guy receiving huge salary for hiding and doing nothing. Unfortunate there is no replacement of Wasim Khan.

Any idea why WK is so quite and under the radar especially since the PSL Bio Secure Bubble fiasco happened? He is giving the impression of someone who is waiting for his tenure to end and to get out of Pakistan asap.

If he cannot ensure that Babar Azam have a say in team selection , then he should resign.

He's been on holiday in the UK past month or so, spending time with his family during Ramadan and probably wanting a break from cricket.

There are reports he hasn't accepted an extension yet because he is first waiting to see whether Ehsan Mani will continue on

Makes sense.

If the guy who gave you a job isn't going to be around, then there is every chance the new guy will want to replace you.

The continuing PSL 6 Abu Dhabi saga is not making things easy for Wasim, is it?

The desperation to hold this event outside Pakistan at such short notice deserves to be criticized, the logistics and organizational hassles were always going to be a massive test for the PCB.

Or were they lead up the garden path by their trusted friends in ECB?

Another incompetent person will replace the incumbent incompetent guy. Won't change much.
But the amount of salary that is paid to the incompetent guys at the top in sickening.
