Sindh squad for for the 2021-22 domestic cricket season

Sindh head coach Basit Ali: “The thought-process while putting together this squad was to fill in the gaps from the last season. We have strengthened our fast bowling and spin bowling departments as we have brought on board Zahid Mahmood and picked up young fast bowlers from the pre-training camp of the CCA top performers. My focus was to build a side which can turn around our red ball fortunes as we finished last in the last year’s first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.”

City cricket seems to have started doing its job to an extent in the first proper season itself. As per Basit Ali they have found a leggy, an offie as well few good fast bowlers in Imtiaz Laghari, Mushtaq Kalhoro and Khuzaima Bin Tanvir.

Arish Ali Khan - very keen to see him perform - hope he gets a chance to play

He told us in his interview:

"I am preparing myself to play in the upcoming domestic season in the 2nd XI or the first XI for Sindh and hope that at some stage, I can play First-class cricket as that is a great honour for any cricketer."


Tabish Khan - surely there are other younger player who can be brought in to the fold?

We know that there are less places in total due to the six teams so why not ask the older players to make way?

Khuzaima was 4th highest wicket taker in Sindh cricket Association city competition 2021 with 20 wickets in 5 matches at an average of 7.05. Imtiaz Laghari was at no 10 with 17 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 13 while Mushtaq Kulhoro was 14th highest wicket taker taking 15 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 16.

Important thing to note is that Basit mentioned that how the standards between different city teams at this level naturally varied a lot so the final decisions were made by looking them in the camps against other top players.

Pretty sad that 2 fast bowling spots will be occupied by Sohail Khan and Tabish Khan..the only disappointing aspect of 6 teams..maybe we should have a oldies 11 or something where guys like Sohail Khan, Tabish Khan, Asad Shafiq, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Tanveer, and a few oldies from kpk can play..
