30-1

Jamshed the man out to AA.

Azhar Ali has a slight Kallis in his game, the one weakness I see is a tendency to poke at nothing balls outisde the off stump.

Out of 100 matches, he makes a century and i should praise for that? He always fail. We always criticize. But what is the point? In spite of being senior cricketer, he will never improve.

dudeee he has been the best pakistani bowler.... batting hes underperforming for a long time but he has been pak best bowler in odi... he contributes ot the team in one way or another

:))) Good one.

There hasn't been any thread about criticizing Afridi consistent failure performance. As soon as he performs out of 100 matches, hundred of threads are to be expected on the arrival especially with so called Beastologist threads. Naming Afridi on Beast department does insult to actual beast.

If you take away his bowling performance against minnow teams, then his bowling average is nowhere to prove ' a best bowler' in ODI. Be my guest and take a look of Afridi statistics. Although, Tanvir has been our best bowler of Pakistan team so far.

NO NO NO NO NO

It's MalikMohsin, not a MalikBrother; ahem. Anyways, thank for asking. I am fine. What about you? :D

Azhar is very impressive... but seems to be made for tests. There are too many good things about azhar and yes he has the kallis touch to him

Well played Punjab, but I feel that they somehow might not deliver when it matters most; in the final. We will se InshaAllah :)

:)))

Sindh CHOKED! Afridi scored s DUCK! Punjab rocked them today! :D

What have the crowds been like for the games?

There has been free entry, so PCB are trying to get the people in.

Lol at the haters pouncing when Afridi fails. At least the Beasties are there through thick and more recently thin.

is malik 2-0 infront in the head to heads?

no problem.. malik won the battle.. Afridi will win the WAR

Today was the biggest crowd somewhere around a 1000.

Guys how about let's go for federal instead of punjab and since sindh are out

That's the way it goes, I suppose. Punjab were the better team on the day. Credit to their bowlers and fielding unit and the greatest captain to ever live, Malik.

However, Sindh aren't out of the tournament yet. They are probably ruing that first match loss to Balochistan, but if Federal Areas lost to NWFP tomorrow, then Sindh and Federal Areas will be equal on points and it will be net run rate that decides who meets Punjab in the final.

Have to admit, this is humiliating for Shahid Afridi, the RBS T-20 final was a close thing but this was a terrible disaster and whats worse he got out first ball playing a nothing shot. All credit to Malik. But like i said, captaincy in domestic cricket and in international cricket are two different things. I really wish Malik could captain equally well in International cricket but have no real clue as to why he doesnt in the end.

Savak, I have honestly come to believe its the senior-junior thing that affects him. I said this thing before as well that Moyo's departure somehow made him more aggressive in the Windies series, and we're seeing this thing here. At the moment, he's known as "Shoaib-bhai" amongst the Punjab team fellows (baring maybe only Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt) but a major part of it is the feel you get when you are treated as a senior, as a leader.. You feel liable to your team, you feel 'no, I HAVE to do something here..' and strangely, I felt his attitude turn to that during the Asia Cup when he was ill.. Fact is, I really don't believe Shahid Afridi, Moyo or even Younus Khan for the matter let him take any place in seniority, and perhaps they also do not give him much regard and say 'bas jo kuptaan keh raha hay, wohi hoga.' And secondly, he also seems quiet and shy and doesn't push the matter much. Maybe, he feels that the seniors would help him out but truth is he is captain and he has to make his own way..

I also, kind of, feel for Afridi here, because for him this young baccha who used to go around calling him "Shahid-bhai, shahid bhai" is now supposed to give him orders and MAKE him follow them.. There seems to be a bit of a power struggle in the dressing room, and Malik takes the pressure more because naturally, Afridi only WANTS be captain, but if Pakistan loses, then the blame would still fall to Malik, not Afridi..

That's why I see him serving Pakistan longer and successfully as a captain because frankly, how much time to these seniors have? Moyo is virtually gone. Akhtar is hardly there in the team. Younus said somewhere he wants to play 2-3 years more and if Afridi is 28 then I'm not even BORN yet! So this is going to be a difficult time for Pakistan, but they need to hang in there and stick with Malik. He has taken a few steps further, that's a positive sign, but he does not need to look back at all.

And this was what my father also told me when I first heard the Malik was captain.. I thought "the seniors would kill him," but then he said "The next 3-4 years would be tough, but he is the best solution for them, long term i.e... And the chain will not end on Malik, it would continue with someone else.." And probably that someone is Butt.

I dont know if there is a mistake in the scorecard, but Umar Akmal was wicketkeeping in thes game. Seems like the mini Akmals want to be like big Akmal - hope they can catch though.

You are right. I dont think Malik was accepted as captain by the team when he was first appointed. And honestly lets face it, in the Asian culture its odd for an extremely young guy to lead his team which is full of more experienced and perhaps more qualified players then him. No one is totally right or wrong problems were bound to occur.

My only complaints against Malik were his repitition of mistakes during matches and his failure to learn from them. Then there were a lot of reports in the media about Malik vs the senior players and sometimes they painted a picture of Malik being the guilty party.

But Malik has led his Punjab team so brilliantly and in complete contrast to his Pakistani team performance. Even though this is domestic cricket but credit must be given to Malik and his performance as skipper cannot be discounted.

But i must admit, i initially supported Afridi's claims to the captaincy, but now i dont think he will be successful because a captain has to be consistent and cannot play in the manner Afridi does.

I never thought Afridi would ever GET to be Pakistan cricket captain, for ANY format, but once he openly admitted "crying in the dressing room" over his performance (or rather lack of it, thereof) I came to think: "Ok, the captain is ill and out, and this senior who claims he deserves captaincy is now crying instead of helping and preparing the youngsters in line for batting.. how pathetic is THAT?!"

And naturally, once a form of authority is said to be involved in any conspiracy, it makes things spicier.. And that is why Malik is almost always shown in the negative light..

The pressure is on.

Will Afridi do his usual of closing his eyes and swinging at everything or will he play for the team.

Do you watch cricket? How often have you seen Afridi close his eyes and swing? Honestly.

Honestly, probaly 150 of his innings. With all this talk of pressure and Afridi being a better choice then Malik......he doesn't seem to appear whenever Malik is his opposite number.
