South Africa (183/9) secure an 11-run victory against Pakistan (172/8) in the 1st T20I to go 1-0 up in the 3-match series

Still hoping 1 of the spinners from new crop becomes world class because we need it alot as we invested in nawaz and shadab alot without any returns
 
Very poor decision to bowl spinner the last over.

SA have managed 183 in their 20 overs. A decent total. But not a match winning one.

Pakistan should be favorites to win this. SA bowling is ordinary and the pitch is a paradise for batting.

Well this clown was man of series so there you go

I do think this is a belter of a wicket but because we have three batters and rest tail no chance and why didnt saim bowl today
 
Durban is a very high scoring venue in recent times. Saffers still may be around 20-25 runs short.

Average 1st innings score since 2020 is around 197

Can’t judge Sufyan based on this one game. He has bowled poorly but let’s see if he is strong enough to make a comeback.

I hope Rizwan doesn’t bench him the next game, that would be cruel.

Shadab used to give such performances consistently and wasn’t dropped.

Don't think two spinners should be bowling here in the first place.
 
Rizwan made the right call giving Abbas and Rauf the ball earlier. He was expecting them to bowl South Africa out because they were 8 down. But Pakistan's death-bowling was really poor today. Practically no bouncers or yorkers. Even in the last over, Sufiyan was bowling too full. When he pulled his length back he picked up the wicket.

Our batting is Saim and in sha Allah right now.

All same tempo batters unfortunately.
 
1 too many spinner in this belter of a wicket. Poor captaincy from the start. If they needed an extra spinner they had Saim.

To hit that 5-6 m length, you need to get a lot of overspin on the ball and get it to dip a lot.

Which is why Varun Chakravarthy has been successful of late. Think Sufyeen gets more side spin on the ball

I'll be surprised if Pakistan team chase this even if it's a 200 par T20 track.

Their team has not overloaded their batting with hitters and high SR players, which might be needed here. They usually struggle in 160+ chases in T20 because of both weakness in batting talent and handling pressure once it builds up.

Then again I agree that SA bowling attack seems ordinary but if they bowl with discipline, then the match is SA's.
 
This game will be lost only due to bad captaincy.

People were saying South Africa can't play spinn to defend rizwan

Check econ rates sufiyan abrar and Harris has given away the most runs
 
Rickleton can be brought in for the next match in place of Rassie.

Another left hander would be great against this bowling lineup.

This could have been 220+ had they not been so careless
 
I expect Babar and Rizwan to make merry.

Remember how they smashed nobodies last time?

But we will think its start of new dawn again.

And cycle will repeat itself.

Rinse and repeat.
 
this is easily gettable total. just use common sense and Pak can get this. All bowlers are pretty inexperienced and both Babar and Rizwan can feast on them. This is the kind of total that are made for them

He was always going to struggle with grip but had he bowled according to his field, he would have avoided getting smashed around as much. He seemed scared of getting hit on the leg-side boundary by Linde and began overcompensating by bowling full. It was too predictable and decreased whatever little chance he had of extracting some movement from the pitch.
 
God awful picture coverage in Sky Sports. From where they are getting the feed? LOL
 
Take your time boys with thrash like Ayub & Usman to come bat till 17th over.
 
Not sure if Pakistan has the batting to chase this down.

Also, making Saim bat at No.3 is a crime.
