South Africa tour of Zimbabwe (2025)

Sean Williams has been fighting a lone battle all series.

257 runs @ 128.57 and a SR of 104!

Seems he didn't have much faith in his countrymen, which explains the intent.

Very underrated player and a loyal servant for Zimbabwe cricket who doesn't get his just due.

Zimbabwe pacer fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

Kundai Matigimu was punished followed a breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the second Test against South Africa.

Kundai Matigimu has been fined 15 percent of his match fees for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the opening day of the ongoing second Test against South Africa in Bulawayo.

The incident occurred during the 72nd over of South Africa’s first innings, when Matigimu fielded a ball in his follow-through and threw it at batter Lhuan-de Pretorius, hitting him on the wrist at close range.

Based on the incident, Matigimu was found to have breached Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which pertains to “throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment) at or near a player in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an International Match.”

Matigimu admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Ranjan Madugalle of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, thereby avoiding the need for a formal hearing.

In addition to the fine, one demerit point has been added to the pacer's disciplinary record. This marks his first offence within a 24-month period.

Nick Welch's 53 not out leads the fightback for Zimbabwe who reach 170 & 143/3 at lunch, trailing by 313 runs (following on)

I was rooting for South Africa.

But, after Mulder's retarded declaration, I am now rooting for Zimbabwe. LOL.

Wiaan Mulder’s Record-Breaking 367 Powers South Africa to Innings Win Over Zimbabwe

South Africa thrashed Zimbabwe by an innings and 236 runs in the second Test at Bulawayo to seal a 2-0 series win, thanks to an extraordinary all-round performance from Wiaan Mulder, who scored an unbeaten 367 and took three wickets across both innings. After piling up a mammoth 626/5 declared, South Africa’s bowlers bundled Zimbabwe out for 170 and 220, enforcing a follow-on with ease. Mulder, named Player of the Match and Series, dominated with 531 runs and 7 wickets across the two Tests. Zimbabwe’s fragile batting was exposed again despite a spirited 83 from Sean Williams in the first innings and a fighting fifty from Nick Welch in the second. Debutants Lesego Senokwane and Prenelan Subrayen also impressed, while South Africa's fast bowlers and spinners shared the load efficiently to wrap up the match inside three days.

With the Zimbabwe–South Africa Test ending today, tomorrow will be the first day without Test cricket since June 17. The 22-day stretch (June 17 - July 8) is the fourth longest streak of consecutive days of Test cricket (Excluding rest days and no-play days)

Glad we got to see lots of Test cricket. Much better than junk T20.

So the series is done and the results were as expected. WTC champions feeding off the minnows and letting them know that Test cricket is not their cup of tea.
