There goes that idea :)) whatta catch! Doolan Parker takes another beutayy!

This block block block approach from SA isn't going to save them.

Chasing 470, the block block option is surely on. Chances of win are so remote that Saffers are better off trying to see off as many overs as possible today.

OMG nearly out first ball McLaren. He was very lucky not to nick that

ABCD has to play the fighting rearguard again. Still 130+ overs left to bat out with 5 wickets left and 350 runs to get

Come on Jonno give em a bit of chin music

Wow that hurts. Smacked on the head, blood coming out

What a ripper by Johnson hope McLaren is ok but this is exhilarating stuff from Johnson I haven't seen fast bowling like this for a long time

This is going to sound pretty harsh but while I reckon Jonno did the right thing to see if McLaren was ok, he needs to walk away and get to his mark and wait there. You don't want him to start feeling guilty for cracking blokes on the head. The OZ team showed the right attitude in making sure McLaren wasn't seriously injured, now they need to let the SA trainers deal with it and not lose their focus.

I would bounce him again I reckon. See what he's made of

Agreed.
Harmison did the right thing with Ponting back in 2005

Does he know how to dodge bricks from the crowd? :)

Cmon now no fast bowler would ever feel guilty after hitting a bloke :))

Are Saffer fans that feral?

It's internation cricket, not U12s

You don't go out to injure a bloke but if he gets injured that's just the way it is.

It's like playing rugby or league. When you're out there you want to put a really good hit on a bloke and smash him, and it's very satisfying when you do so. You don't want to hurt him in a bad way, like fark up his ACL or break some ribs or damage his neck, but if it happens fairly it happens. You just get up and get ready for the next tackle.

Johnson's bowling in the last 5-6 months has been the best fast bowling I've seen in my life.. Phenomenal is too little a word to describe

Then again if you're a Japie you just try and bite them #bakkiesbiter

Yep.

If it's fair play it's fine. Same thing in Australian football

I havent seen such brutal fast bowling in ages. England were mercilessly slaughtered and SA are getting destroyed. Cant wait to see him in action against the India and Pakistan in the upcoming series.

Exhilarating stuff from Johnson! but he should be prepared to cop some too in the coming tests.

Yeah he will.

Bravest thing was probably 1995 when Glenn McGrath (who averaged about 2 at the time) went around bouncing Curtly Ambrose and the like. Won us the series though.

Don't think Pakistan will struggle as much primarily because the series will be held in UAE where even Johnson won't get the bounce he is getting right now. We, on the other hand, will face him in Australia. :))

when MJ is bowlinhg like this... it makes compulsive viewing... awseome stuff.

Tin cans in UAE better get ready to go flying :hafeez

Hopefully he won't be in the same form he is in right now.

another good thing to see SA being demolished like this... is listening to their overbiased commentators squirming around... waiting for "steyn to get ol' crazy eyes going" ... :)

Another ripper by Mitch great bowling

What a beauty McLaren has gone Saffers look helpless against him

Didn't matter, next ball :out

too fast, edged a short ball thru to Haddo

This is why Kallis retired against India and not Aus he didn't want his last memory to be getting battered by Mitch

Jonno has destroyed this batting lineup. Here comes Robin Peterson looking like he would rather be on the highveld with a pride of lions than in the middle of Centurion with a bat

This bowling is perfection.

Peterson won't last long

SHOCKING!

Really thought SA would dominate them but they haven't, I expect SA to do some damage in the next 2 games but in the end I see the series being a draw.

Aus win
Draw
SA win

it's going to be great making a compilation of MJs bowling in this game alone (forget the whole ashes). not only his wickets but his intimidation and aggression... do it to the tune of crank it up... till the walls cave in

I'm sure there's no better feeling as a fast bowler than to have batsmen hopping and jumping and fending at the crease. Procreation maybe, but it would be close.

He didn't want to cry in front of his home crowd at Newlands.

He played in a charity game in Newlands a few days after he retired and crowd was going berserk.

gotta feel sorry for devilliers, the only guy in the saffer line up capable of playing johnson and he is running out of partners!

De Villliers is proving to be an ATG here.

The mark of greatness is performing against a great opponent. De Villiers is doing it.

Why not wouldn't he want to retire in front of his home crowd in front of all his friends and family that would be a special moment like Tendulkars retirement in Mumbai

Amidst the carnage ABCD is 3 runs short of another half ton

Good catch by Smith ABCD gone and the match is gone definitely

South Africa defeated in their fortress, second time in Test match history. William Hill slashes the odds of a whitewash.

OMG Jonno gets another one gets fifer. ABCD out for 48. Slower delivery again

Seffrica about to be humiliated. Can they survive till stumps? Another 32 overs left to bat with just bunnies at the crease. I reckon this is the perfect time to dish out some chin music like they did to the Poms. I know Morkel and Steyn can probably return it but so what.

akhtar was never so lethal with the bouncer as johnson is.

That's true but Akhtar bowled some magnificent hostile spells in his time Johnno has been amazing in an era of trundlers he is a breath of fresh air

He is already ATG in my book. The man is simply head and shoulders above every other batsman in world cricket today.

How can batsmen face Johnson when he's ripping them like that!! He's insane, this guy!!
