Very weak Bowling lineup.
Batting seems to be strong but with Malik,Afridi and Younus you never know.
 
Shafiq playing for irfan , honestly misbah ....

What's the value of playing shafiq at 6 , put him at 3 or not all

And why are we playing 2 pacers
 
The only good thing is that at least Shafiq is there, Umar should've also played the pitch seems to be a road his hard hitting would have been handy.
 
Irfan dropped ... why break his partnership with Junaid ... they complemented each other well India.

As we thought pakistan was going back to produce good bowlers we drop them.

The quicker we get rid of this useless management the better!
 
I hope we lose! , this is killing the merit. This is bringing in the tried and tested failures back. People like fawad alam were kicked out to give peple like malik and kamran chances. and now umar akmal I hate this system.

only two pacers and one is umer... on this pitch you need irfans bounce...... this is crap.... nearly all favourtism... malik and afridi and younis have no place atleast not over umer akmal.... Believe me i dont like akmal but he should have been their...... kamran better prove his worth this time...

This isnt even defensive approach.. this is madness.... on a flat pitch you let opposition bat first and then you dont even play three pacers and then you make a team of seniors TTF.

Last decade and we have never one against africa :p :p :p with this squad i dont see any changes unless ajmal turns into a beast.

Can't understand this team selection it's the worst I've seen for some time.

No umar akmal. YK and Malik in. Don't think Asad has an LOI game yet (Umar does) so although I don't mind his selection, bit silly to have him over umar, he doesn't even have more experience than umar.

Two pacers, Afridi in. Terrible. I don't mind playing Afridi when we need 3 spinners to partner Hafeez and Ajmal, but on SA pitches generally conditions favour fast bowling don't they? Hopefully pitch is flat and our spinners are more effective, but it's a gamble.
 
It seems like we are playing to loose. Team selection makes no sense and then field first after winning the toss makes no sense. No one will make these decisions unless he is trying to loose.
 
the pitch is hard so only hope is junaid.....

Man junaid and irfan were soo good together and irfan could get bounce on bounceless tracks at 145 kph....

Yep... this is like you are trying to take the bull by the horns and then locked each other in a small room.
 
We don't really have a say in the team,do we. Even SA supporters must be disappointed with their team selection. No matter what i wouldn't want Pak to lose. If your'e truly a Pak supporter and not a player supporter, accept it and be behind your team. If youngsters play and we lose,fans will say why not choose experienced players. I back my team no matter who plays! Pakistan Zindabad!
 
Well, if you have to play Afridi and Younis then Irfan has no place. You definitely do not want to drop a batsman. We are playing 4 spinners and 2 pacers.

Asad has had an LOI game, he scored a 50 on debut against England in England, if I recall correctly
 
they have four seamers :facepalm: :facepalm: and two spinners and one is faf...

but some people here have more experience of playing cricket at a higher level than the current internationals in Team Pakistan.

Bet no one understands the statement "criticise for the sake of betterment, not for the sake of criticism" :) and the difference between the two sets of criticism.

Yeah but he hasn't done it consistently, his record is poor.

He started off more aggressively, but has gone a lot more defensive as evidenced by his SR, it's under 70.

It just looks he isn't naturally suited for limited overs, nor has he really got comfortable in a specific way to play ODIs. Hasn't really got his game finalised. Doesn't rotate strike well, blocking too much. Don't think he's properly developed his game in LOI yet, seems very limited in this format. He probably will though over time.

But as I said, not really fussed having him in the side, did better than the rest vs SA in the test series so worth a shot. Just not instead of umar, in addition.

Unless there is so much turn that Ajmal destroys them.
 
Not much wrong with SA team. Morkel injured. Steyn rested. Duminy injured. No place for de Kock.

I like the selection!! Maybe Umer over Malik cause Malik will not bowl, so is basically playing as a batsman only.

Screw Irfan. He couldnt take a single new ball wicket in 5 tries and is the worst fielder in the world! I'll take Afridi over him.

C'mon Junaid & Gul ! Early wickets boys!!!
 
If we're playing just two pacers, Hafeez might need to open with the new ball now.
 
Inclusion of afridi has destroyed the teams balance. This is going to be a whitewash. You can't have 2 seamers in south africa
