He really is... that guys has been holding africa alot. when you have a top notch batsmen and a great pacer in just onbe person. your side ofcourse gets alot better...

Lunch.... good for paksitan ... jamsheed is going great... these guys need to make big.
 
Jimmy should be trying to leave those balls rather than try to play at... Coach should tell him during the break... Morkel gets lot of bounce, you better off ducking it...
 
Pakistan should seriously consider playing :hafeez in middle order in all formats, play him as a specialist bowler.
 
Jamshed has been a treat to watch.

Better start from Pakistan. Jammy playing a gem here I just want him to be careful closing the bat and chasing wide one. Also no easy wickets to Peterson as ball will get older things will become even easier.

Pakistan must continue in positive fashion the pitch has flattened the only problem is uneven bounce so present straight bat to deliveries which are on stump line
 
I don't have my finger on the pulse of Pak cricket like some of the gang here but is it me or is there a distinct lack of "old rejects and leeches" from the team clamouring to play for Pak right now???!!

If this series was in UAE or subcontinent against some second rate opposition - you usually get the tried and tested failures (maliks, akmals etc) whining about how they want to play for Pak - is it me or is it a bit too quiet???
 
I just want our boys to make a good account of themselves, perhaps scare the SA team, sound out their bowlers - get some valuable practice against them - who knows, maybe even win!!!!!!

I don't get your point about selfishness... Cricket is a team sports but one batsman plays at a time... When you score runs and stay on the wicket, why it is sellfish, that is exactly what batsmen should always be doing...

I think investment is Jimmy is good for Pakistan... I like that way he plays fast bowlers (playing late)... One thing he need to work on is showing full face on those fullish length deliveries more, rather than rolling the wrist (which all Pakistani's has problem with)... The other thing in this innings is the leaving those short balls on the body...

Wicket right now is not doing much... Batsmen are more likely to loose wicket because of lapse of concentration, or going after balls which they should leave... That's why concentration, patients and defense is absolutely important...

In test cricket 80% of the time batsmen is defending the ball, that's why it is so important to focus on that, patient, temperament and most important solid defense technique is absolutely vital... It's like life, that's why it is so fascinating...
 
Test cricket battle is played in overs/spells, sessions... Styen and or Vernon is going to be bowling up front after lunch, it's very important to concentrate for these two guys... First 5-6 overs after lunch are important to bring back your rhythm... Let's hope these guys fight it out well...

Its a mindset thing bro, coaches advise batsmen that when you on the pitch and in this kind of situation, dont think about the team or the outcome, just play for your record and getting a century :) and effectively that will also increase pakistan's scoreboard :)

Hope you get the point, if not then you need to speak to one of your local coaches :) and I am sure he will be able to explain it to you :)
 
azhar ali has gone to england series in UAE mode. tire the bowler and show extreme levels of patience. If it worked for Hanif it should work for him.
 
good running there but they shouldn't go for too close singles..can't afford a run out here.
 
It's all good azhar occupying the crease but he needs to up it now slightly.

Getting out now, and all them dot balls will be pretty pointless now

50... strategy is jamsheed scores on first ball and azhar defends 5..... this way cant get out....

Philander to Azhar Ali, no run, that's a peach. Seam movement.No inclination to move it until it pitches on a length just outside off. Then it seams away and bounces away, beating the bat. And it's bowled at only 128kmph
 
Why why why... Azhar are you chasing a delivery that is atleast a foot outside the off stump... Please don't chase those ones...
 
Azhar looks in two minds again..too much Tuk Tuk does that to you.
 
Philander to Azhar Ali, 3 runs, and more seam movement. This time he draws a thick outside edge but it goes wide of gully, and yields three despite the touch from the diving Alviro for his first runs in 23 deliveries
 
Tell Azhar Ali there are other shots in the book then leave, maybe tuk and edge
 
nicely guided for 2 runs this time..much better from Azhar.
 
Vernon I believe cannot bowl too many overs, since he is not 100% fit... We have to keep that in mind.
 
Pakistan are winning this. Lots of time to chase this score, AB should have scored slower.
 
unpredictable bounce is a concern... Let's hope it does not spoil the partnership :)
 
good thing about Jamshed is he has been respecting good balls and putting bad balls away so far..
 
If these two can play out till the close it will be superb for the teams confidience.

Philander doesn't look threatning at all when the ball get's old.
