What's new

South Africa vs Pakistan | 4th ODI | Johannesburg | Jan 27, 2019 | South Africa innings Thread

I hope Phehlukwayo makes it big in his career. Not as a reaction to what Sarfaraz said, but because I admire him.

Pakistan are well served with having Malik as captain at this stage of the game: wicket taking captain.

It doesn't need to change the fortune of a team - this WC is quite open. Sarfraz is down, so would leave the guy today, but he was costing in triple fold - even his hardcore Bhakts would agree that Rizwan has kept much better today so far.

Rizwan has always done well with the gloves.

Andile is giving me as much grief as watching Sehwag in his early days (I hope people understand I am not comparing their batting) : every innings of his looked flukey.

Why has Amir pace gone down by 5 kmph even this time last year he was hitting regularly 140kmph in Odis

Part of a trend we have changed with our neighbours.

Need to bounce him. Or keep it short. He is good on the drive.

Pandya likish

Pandya is actually quite an athlete. A clean hitter and capable of clocking 90 mph. Sheer ability wise he is much better than Andile. Although i admit it hasn't really yielded anything a whole lot more substantial.

Malik should bring Shadab in fornt of Andile, my be Hafeez as well from other end.

Amir is done now i think. He is even being hit by no-timers like phelulkawye. Over pitching. Can't even bowl yorkers properly. I think he hasn't developed muscles as he should have. May be he should do body building

Those 5 shinwari overs could be very crucial. Malik needs some over from Hafeez to cope with that.

Shoaib Malik to captain in the remaining games. Rizwan included in the T20 squad!

How many near misses is Phehlukwayo going to have?

I think his knees are gone he sat on his back side for 5 years then came back bowled lots of overs without proper conditioning and his knees are gone completely

that is a solid point

I think South Africa is going to wreck Pakistan’s top order today.

Malik is trying to get the last wicket, risking shortage of overs at later stages. If one wicket goes down, gamble should pay off, but if these two puts a partnership till 45th over, might be risky. In any case 275+ is taken out of equation.

this like a slow west indies pitch but with a little bit of bounce

SA seeing out the better bowlers - before feasting on Shinwari and cast in the last 6 or 7. Target 240. Could be enough on this pitch.

Rain made the last match easy for batting, here I have a feeling it will assist the bowlers if it arrives.
