I understand that this is not a popular viewpoint, but I prefer Imad to Shadab.

Shadab is not good enough to bat in the middle-order, and his tuk tuk is of no use down the order. His batting does not have the impact of Imad.

As far as his bowling is concerned, for all the oohs and aahs and the googlies, he doesn’t take enough wickets against good opposition, and his returns are more or less similar to Imad’s.

Imad is the most reliable lower-order hitter we have at the moment. Yes he is no Buttler or Maxwell, but he is relatively better than our other options such as Nawaz, Faheem, of course Shadab and that hack Asif Ali.

Shadab is obviously better at fielding for the cameras though.

Nevertheless, Shadab is one of the blue eyed boys who can do wrong, while Imad is one of the villians who can do no right.

If you need like 40 off last 5 overs, IMAD inspires no confidence at all.
With Asif ali, you know he could get 3 over the rope and win it ( Look back at the six he hit off Bhuvi in the Asia cup, went rows back I think. Like he has the talent to hit even good bowls

Sarfraz is not Malik.... Malik and hafeez are both shrewd enough and should have captained pak for longer terms but unfortunately short lived because of Afridi... The most attacking of them all was MYK who is the most cunning of the captains pak had in the recent past...

that pretty much says it all on pakistani power hitting ability when you have to go back and look at a single six.

there was a time we used to reference an innings but this is a new low, referencing a single six.

hasan ali has done more with the bat than asif ali will ever do.

same with imad, he's done more with the bat than asif or faheem will ever do.

imad isn't a power hitter like afridi but he did get the job done in the last match

Since Asif Ali made his ODI debut no one has scored faster than him in ODIs. Dropping him because he’s “inconsistent” misunderstands his role and doesn't make sense in any case because, given his role, four scores of 30+ in eight innings is hardly inconsistent anyway.

Also, given his role maybe he deserved a chance to prove his worth outside UAE, i.e. on pitches where ball comes on to the bat nicely?

Malik is finishing his main spinners, I think he has planned to use Hafeez against Miller; probably will under bowl Amir & Shinwari. Good choking job with spinners and if they go hard against Hafeez, he is too cunning., might use FZ as well with 2 right handers in.
