Sri Lanka v Pakistan | 3rd ODI | Dambulla | 3 Aug 2009 | SL Innings

with malik bowling 4 overs i dont expect afridi to bowl now since has bowled 6 overs
 
SL still have not taken the last batting PowerPlay so they are favourites, but everything can happen in cricket.
 
PPlay does'nt matter now. Pakistan should be attacking anyway. Defending from here on is not going to win them the game.
 
Malik spoiled what looked like a decent over at this stage
 
Pakistan will be pleased, they will have broken two records in this game.
First they broke the record for runs scored on this ground.
Now they are about to break the record for runs conceded on this ground.

as usual the unlucky bowler was aamer, the kid has a history of catches being dropped of his bowling or plumb decisions not being given, very unfortunate.
 
Yeah the lbw looked to be hitting leg stump.

I swear i really hope we dont play the sri lankans for a very very very long time after this tour.
 
After watching Pakistan pile up 288 in the first innings I was confident we could easily defend this total, but the bowling has been poor and Lankans have batted according to the situation. Now Sangakkara and Kanadamby making fool of Abdul Razzaq

because younis khan has been making awful decisions all day. Remember in the 5th or so over he took off the slips for no real reason and tharanga edged it, first slip would have caught that. Imagine the difference that would have made. Then Bowling Malik and Razzaq when there is a new batsman on the crease. Also should have started the bowling with Rana instead of Razzaq.

Rubbish stuff from Younis Khan today, or may i say in this whole tour.
 
Razzaq as a bowler on flat tracks :) well he is poor !
You cant have rana and razzaq in the same team with young aamer.

Amir and Malik were bowling well, until Malik gave that 4

It's just too painful to watch.

Congratulations to Sri Lanka and unlike others i really hope we play them soon in future and THRASH them.
 
This is the worst bowling attack that I can ever remember in Pakistan's entire history. (Prove me wrong if you can - name a worst one)
 
Aamer is the unluckiest bowler on the whole tour but he has still done extremely well.
I am not worried about our batting as we have many options but what other bowlers have we got????
I can't think of too many fast bowling options right now, can't wait till Asif is back :(
 
Razzaq was a HUGE disappointment today and Rana is known to leak runs but even his variety wasn't good enough.

Afridi's bowling was another let down his better bowling could have made a huge difference.
 
He might take 4 wkts in this over....because us k under bhi ejaz ahmed wali khaslaat hai...jab team say nikalney wala ho perform kardayta hai lol
 
Looking at scoreboard after Pakistan's batting, i was really happy but i have to say that Fawad Alam's extremely slow inning on this sort of pitch was very costly.

Malik and Younis could have done better as well.
 
If Sri Lanka lose this, which they wont, Kandamby would be in real ****.

IMO the whole team could have done better than this .

Malik, Ajmal and Aamer are bowling fine, and the rest of bowlers have bowled terrible.

Younus would rather to play Malik than Razzaq or Rana who may easily concede more than 15 runs per overs.

Under Malik captaincy, Rana and Razzaq were gone for good. Thank to Younus captaincy, those Rana and Razzaq are back to prove our bowling attack sound worth.

We have lost Sohail Tanveer. He could have been useful in death overs especially with his expertise of his new ball skill. PCB has to make sure to approach the addition of Asif, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanveer for the Champion Trophy. Younus has lost his mind and PCB better not to listen to him from now on.

Pakistan should just play kenya, namibia, netherlands, ireland, scotland and UAE i am sure they'll learn a lot from these minnows and when they can defeat all of them only then they should be allowed to come in the big 8 circle
hell even BD & Zimbabwe are better than them
Damn sometimes i hate Pakistan Corruptors / corruption is the main cause of every demise Pakistan has faced so far
every one seems to be so greedy

After Pakistan's innings, previously the highest total in Dambulla, you really felt they had a chance but some poor field placing, average fielding and indifferent bowling cost them. Jayawardene and Tharanga flattened Pakistan with a double-century opening stand and though a wobble followed it was not really going to worry Sri Lanka. Sangakkara stayed on to hit the winning runs and he is all smiles as he leaves the field. In his first term as captain he has led Sri Lanka to Test and ODI wins. Good stuff from Sri Lanka. Pakistan looked clueless at times trying to defend 288. They have had a proud record in Sri Lanka over the years but have now been beaten in Tests and ODIs by the home side. Still two matches to go but you can call them meaningless now.
 
As much as certain players should get taken apart for there performances when they go home. Younus needs to get a hiding for his captaincy, its been pathetic, in fact without Amer would have suffered worse defeats..actually what am I saying, Sri lanka beat us for the first time at home, Jayawardene got a fifty, he participated in a record breaking opening stand against us...name a way in which it could have got worse

Oh and just for good measure...Pakistan will probably lose the series 3-2.

First England in England - 2006 - England has won after more than 25 years at home.

Then, India in India - 2007 - India has won after more than 27 years at home.

Finally, Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka - 2009 - Sri Lanka has won after more than 25 years at home.

I sense New Zealand might be next - very eager to earn the first test series victory against Pakistan at home.

I wouldnt give our batting too much credit. This was a flat wicket and we made a below par score.

We were 150 odd for 5 at one stage so its still the top order batting which is letting us down.

Only god knows how Malik and Fawad are getting games ahead of Mohammad Yousuf.
 
Todays contest was more of SL dominance the whole way
Pakistan Team looked out of sorts and the captain clueless
the pickings would haunt him for a long time to come and he could easily escape the embarassment by retiring from ODI's as well
leave it to the youngsters and let them handle the so called team
they need to be a team first and than talk about performances
288 was a good total but again the team factor was unavailable in the fielding , many a times they didnt even bother to run

o ya! by the way, My Avatar would have been the best fielder saving quite some runs and not dropping twice to prove his capabilities

unless u wanna elaborate on My Avatar!
