Misbah's career strike rate is 38. I can understand that if your new to international cricket and you are trying to establish yourself in the team, but this is Misbah's 15th test match and he's gotta be more confident with himself.

In a match where the opposition isnt hard pressed to win...

His career strike rate is low probably coz of that India tour where he had to bat for hours and hours with M Sami.

Vaas to Shoaib Malik, no run, dropped by Dilshan, got it to leave him and Malik was found fishing for it, got a thick edge but the keeper fails to latch onto it, how costly will that prove?

they are getting a partnership because they are playing for themselves not for the country, especially Misbah. in the last two matches the country needed them and they did not perform well. Misbah has done it (letting the team down from a good position) every so often that he should not be included in the team even if he gets a double hundred (200) in this match.......he has proved that he just plays for himself.

:13:

Malik needs to make best use of the life hes just got now!

so then 17 dot balls played out by these two now....make that 18, 3 maidens in a row plus a dropped catch. good going.

Dilshan also a part of Malik's faction now :O :O :O

Low strike rate isn't really a big issue in test matches, theres nothing wrong with a few maidens as long as you dont lose wickets.

Malik got a chance but he's playing well... come on man, get a big one here!

I thought the pitch has little grass on it. Fine overall several batsmen performance so far.

The new ball has been approached. Will we be expecting the collapse already?

Not sure about the collapse. But expect some dance moves from our batsmen for sure.

everyone should.... i remember in the t20 WC super 8 match against SL it was Misbah who got the Pakistan team under pressure. he almost faced 5 overs and did not score a boundary, he did not even try to.

They might as well play out of the rest of the day. No point becoming overly aggressive now.

Isn't he the one who took Pakistan to the final of previous WC by himself especially in several matches which he had to perform in under pressure?

Sometimes, you can not connect the ball. No one is perfect but he tries his best to get the job done.

So we have to play him, his entire life for that T20 WC performance or the performance against Indian in India?

The ball has swung a lot. Fine shot by Shoaib Malik - FOUR!

How Sri Lankan bowlers manage to bowl swing a lot on new ball.

Is this really Misbah?? :O
He is taking more singles in this innings than he has taken in this entire series.

and in the final match what he did......... and he has not palyed a good innings for a long time. a middle order man is supposed to be a match winner but he is not. he has proved it many times. he gets one get innings after about 10 bad innings. a player should not be that inconsistent.

Like we weren't playing Afridi for the past 12 year because of one fastest century?

Misbah is just on bad form. He will be consistent when he get back on form which won't take much longer. He has proven to be test specialist batsman and fine ODI batsman.

He is playing to get in the side for next couple of years.

Samgha ker yaar ;)

Making a blow out match look like a last ball thriller ?

Ok So you mean Afridi has just hit the fastest century and has not won pakistan any games?

But the thing is: for how long will he live on that peformance??

Are you listening to yourself? Pakistan openers always pressure on the middle order batsmen. Misbah and Malik have done fine job so far.
Remember, Misbah is inexperienced, and he has already proven more valuable to the team as inexperienced batsman.

Pakistan loses because middle order batsmen don't perform. If Pakistan wins and that is because of them. Pakistan openers never perform which is why Pakistan winning ratio hasn't been fair. What if Misbah is on bad form? Then the team is supposed to lose because he is not performing? Why the whole team don't perform? Why on earth are we relying simply on middle order batsmen only?

That exactly is my point for how long we will keep Misbah Sahib in the team and will say he is suffering from a bad patch, loss of form. And then see him perform in dead rubber matches, like he did against Australia in Abu-Dhabi in a dead rubber game.

Really hope Malik can get a hundred here... the boy needs to get himself in form!

Did he? One performance and he is booked for the entire career. Why that doesn't apply to the rest of team?

Sami played 33 tests and 83 ODIs for us despite being utter gash and he still had people defending him

Here are Misbah's scores in the last 10 innings, starting from this innings and going back.

27*, 3, 0, 7, 56, 42, 37, 133*, 6, 161*

Thats too inconsistent for you?

Why are the umpires allowing a ball change with just 15 minutes remaining in day's play? Hope they can bat it out!

pakcricketfan said:

I understand. But he is talented cricketer and at the moment, Pakistan seriously has no fine batsmen. Just be patient and hopefully he will perform like the tour of India - test series.

*** is that Sri Lankan commentator on about "that's plumb!", must be watching a different replay to me

Sweetheart can you tell me how many times Afridi got Dropped from the side and then came back?

How many times that has happene to Misbah?

Lets count, Shall we?

i posted this one intentioanlly on this thread because it seemed more interesting to me rather than seeing Misbah's batting.

Every time SL has been allowed to change the ball, and somehow, everytime they get a ball that suits them and get wickets.

This is utter nonsense... what the BLEEP!!%%$@$?? With 15 minutes left in play the umpires let the Sri Lankans get a new ball... what was the point? Might as well have ended the day's play... this is ridiculous; they had just taken the new ball... what was wrong with it? Poor umpiring decision in my opinion, and one that cost Malik's wicket. How many more wickets will this cost us...

Where were you when Afridi was taking soo many wickets and was the highest wicket taker for Pak??

Poor umpiring has cost Malik twice, first test and this test. Shoaib Malik has been unlucky so far.

he was definately watching the videos of Misbah in 2007 T20 WC :D

not watching the game...was not plumb? please someone describe this one for me..

try again

Man you and Big Mac can be priceless when defending malik, hit in line, swinging in, fernando says its out, the ump says its out, waqar says its out but obviously its malik so it had to be bad luck. cant wait to hear the next one, its because they changed the ball......

He was according to even Waqar. It looked close and I would've probablt given it.

Why are our batsmen getting out in pairs?? :13:

Fawad and YK went together.
Then Manzoor and Yousuf went together.
Now Malik and Misbah went together!!

:)))

The Most Talented Misbah has failed again.

:)))

Please, Please, Please give him another chance in the series against Australia and get whitewashed there as well.

:))) :)))
