Well done Dani boy! Will say it again it's a pity that the "brains trust" didn't pick him for the first two games.
bowling was not our problem in the first two tests. It was battng that let us down. As for Danish, good for him to take 3 wickets (and may be more) in this inning. He knows now that he has to perform or else he will be dropped. Good move by the management to show that his place is not guaranteed,

53.3
Saeed Ajmal to Dilshan, no run, appeal for a catch, goes for his favoured scoop, bowled on a good length on leg stump, goes off the glove and straight into the hands of the short-leg fielder who dives running to his right to pluck a good catch, Ian Gould, though, thought there was no contact with the bat, he was wrong

I don't know how umpires missed that.

Relax guys, bad umpiring is part and parcel of the game. Sometimes it is going to suit us, sometimes it would go in the favor of the opposition.

Having said that, Someone please shoot the *******

However when the skipper opts to bowl his part time stuff, as he has done throughout this series, then it has to be an admission that he has picked the wrong team.

That was an excellent delivery. Top spinner beat him for pace and he was on the backfoot. Reminded me off Shane Warne bowling Ijaz Ahmed in the 1999 World Cup final.

Anyway, it is helping Danish that he has a good ally in Ajmal!
i've always beena big kaneria fan, the problem for kaneria before was the captains didn't utilise his skills propperly, younis khan could be the captain who gets the best out of him, under inzamam he was mainly used as a defensive bowler which he isn't

its not the bowling that killed us
But considering Danish bowlling so well in the 3rd test...he would have been so useful in the first 2 tests with 3rd Pace Option available in Younis Khan.......

Kaneria seems to be bowling well after a spell outside of the team, thats good to see.

That's right Zeenix bhai, sometimes umpiring goes against us, other times it goes for the opposition.

ajmal takes another wicket, nice competition between our spinners

i WONDER WHAT WILL HAPPEN ONCE aFRIDI GETS SELECTED FOR A TEST SIDE?

As the Review is not far from us now....the umpiring blunders are simply out of proportion.....it seems like umpires have closed their eyes...

NO

Sometimes dropping a player makes him come back better..anyone will tell you that danny had become far to comfortable in his position...

CREDIT GOES TO YK!

Ajmal 3 - 3 Kaneria...good stuff!

Oh god we might be batting again soon :S

Pakistan need to get last 2 wickets and then bat solidly in the 2nd inns.

or just perhaps it shows a belief in himself as a bowler???

you really are incredible...'an admission that he has picked the wrong team...' jeez

Srilanka are getting schooled, imagine what the spin twins will do to them on day 4 in the second innings!

Well Well Well, seeing spinners ruling the roost here, i wonder how will our fragile, nascent, brittle batting line up fare against the demons.

Well...with Afridi replacing Malik in the Test Side we can have one of the greatest spin attack in the world (in terms of variety of spin bowlling)
1 traditional leg spinner, 1 traditional off spin Doosra bowller, 1 allrounder in spin itself (guess who....Afridiiiii.)

there is a thing known as "thinking out of the box"
there is an act known as "catch your oponent unaware"

Kaneria was utilised as a strike weapon when Pakistan had the likes of Sami, Rana and Razzaq in the team. Almost an impossible task.

Pak need to get Dilshan here.

yes depends if they have a score to bowl to or not! Whether they are successful depends on how our batsmen do...

Seriously we cant lose this match can we or will lightening strike for the third time!

There's belief and then there's delusion. So he suddenly believes he is the best leg-spinner in Pakistan................?

Sri Lanka 191/8 (57.0 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 108 runs with 2 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

the difference is younis khan is a good captain who knows how to use his bowlers, unlike previous captains kaneria had no confidence in'em

The key is still Akmal's inability to keep against spinners. Until that is resolved all the good work of the spinners may continue to go to waste.

Bowlers have always dominated batsmen in Test format so far. That is good sign of Test format. This kind of pitches should be approached similar in Pakistan in future if possible.

Agreed,

Need a respectable total, hopefully 300+

what on earth are you talking about?

who is the best leg spinner???

yk is bowling medium pace swing...did you even know that?

bring in Aamer he is the one that will get dilshan with his bouncer
he even has an injury wont be able to play properly

Dilshan can score quickly and herath is no mug with the bat so pakistan need to wrap this up quickly!

Pakistan would be in good postion if we can get a lead of 70+ here!

Misbah should be replaced with Afridi

That was sickening stuff from SL batsman grabbing ajmals arm and trying to straighten.Them of all people should be sensitive about things like that. .

60.5

Danish Kaneria to Herath, OUT

Danish Kaneria to Herath, OUT, caught in front! Bowled with a flat trajectory, landed on a good length on the off and spun in to rap Herath in front of middle and leg as he tried to play down the wrong line, looking to defend it on the off side

HMRKB Herath lbw b Danish Kaneria 7 (15b 0x4 0x6) SR: 46.66

timely wicket there, just when that partnership was becoming a strong rearguard from SL.

Sri Lanka 204/9 (61.0 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 95 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

i dont wanna see Pakistan batting........specially with the new ball....y? because i don't like horrible movies that much....

Exactly May be they should Murali's arm first :pissed:

Sri Lanka 212/9 (62.6 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 87 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

Sri Lanka 221/9 (64.0 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 78 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

63.6

Umar Gul to Dilshan, no run, appeal for a catch, hurls a yorker just outside off, Dilshan tries to dig it out towards point, the ball deviates and goes through to the keeper, and the bat hits the ground, the fielders go up. The umpires refer it, and the replays indicate, to my eyes, that the bat hits the ground and then the ball just about makes contact with the outside edge to produce the deviation.

63.5

Umar Gul to Dilshan, SIX, six! Banged in short on middle, Dilshan goes for the hook again, it pays off as he gets a top edge over the fine-leg boundary, important runs these

63.4

Umar Gul to Dilshan, no run, smashed down the ground to a deepish mid-off, overpitched but he can;t find the gap

63.3

Umar Gul to Dilshan, 2 runs, bouncer, goes for the hook, doesn't keep it down but it falls short of fine leg, there's an overthrow towards mid-off and they get the second

63.2

Umar Gul to Dilshan, no run, driven beautifully to deep cover, connected it well, was overpitched but he doesn't want Thushara to take strike

63.1

Umar Gul to Dilshan, no run, driving length outside off, drives it down the ground to long-on but doesn't want the single
