well bowled RANA now try and get the 5th wicket and let aamer take the 5th
 
anyone can check my posts in the past, i sed over and over once we bring nazir back in the team they will start winning.
 
76-8 and we havent even used any of our spinners yet, brilliant stuff.

i didn't say that he would be the reason they would win, but just once he was included somehow they would start winning. a bit like razzaq got included in the T20 even though he didn't do awesome neccesairly but the team just start winning it was a bit like that.

I will Zong SL later to find out. Rs 3.99 an hour after midnight. It is an interesting situation as there are Pakistan flags too. Maybe family members

Pak shouldn't relax here just finish them off by being aggressive as they have been so far! Try and give Aamir the chance to get a 5fer as he has 1 over left.

Are these two now going to create a new record of the highest 9th wicket partnership in any ODI?
 
Aamir still has 1 more over to go and Rana has 2 more - 3 overs of your main bowlers who can finish this off between them in that time - This is where Pak has always lacked in they get to the tail rather early and then get relaxed and offer them to bat around for a period of time and they dont look hassled at all!
 
Just get out already yaar, stop delaying the inevitable!
 
What happened here?! 3rd umpire in action - Looks like he's been bowled rather than stumped or something anyways he's out!
 
All the gloss being taken off Pakistan's inevitable win. They've been as charitable as Sri Lank were ruthless when they demolished Pakistan so regularly earlier this series.
 
Aamir should've been thrown the ball to try and get his 1st ODI 5fer but Ajmal is being persisted with - Aamir only has 1 over left YK!
 
The only problem is that Sanga/Ponting get results which in the conext of the game is the best possible game....its all good saying Younus is a gentleman but until he gets results....
 
Pakistan win quite convincingly and Rooney gets a late equaliser ... good stuff this
 
Good to see pakistan win the last 2 games, to show they still in the mix and one of the best in the world, 5-0 would of looked bad, 3-2 looks not to bad considering also playing away to sri lanka and winning the last 2 games convincingly by well over 100+ runs.
 
Sri Lanka will probably blame this on complacency. Their batting, which looked so strong, wilted for the second time in succession. Pakistan have done really well to expose their frailties. But it really mystifies me why Aamer wasn't allowed to bowl his final over.

well done Pakistan if only they played the crucial games with the same conviction could have been a lot sweeter.
 
congrats Pakistan! great performance in crusing SL in last 2 ODIs...I always believed SL is no special but only made good due to PAK spineless show...but once PAK gathers momentum, SL looked hapless and incomptent...

Now the question is why did we play so badly in the test series and first 3 ODI's. Heads should roll, there needs to be some accountability for this performance, we have never lost a series before in Sri lanka ever just like we had not lost a series in England since 1982 in 2006.

We cant let such things be forgiven. And trust me the batting was absolutely horrible on supportive pitches. Our batting only came good in the final 2 ODI's because the pitches in general were supportive for stroke play.

So now Afridi is in charge of the Pak team for the T-20. I wonder how will he conduct himself as captain on and off the field.

The best thing to come out of this series is the return of the ICLers, we now have good backup for every spot other then opening.

With these 2 crushing wins, Pak has warmed up quite nicely for CT 2009 and amanged to find out a decent combination as well....

Infact now the question where do Asif fits in here....?? Rao cannot be dropped after 2 fine performances....

The most sensible thing is not to pick Asif and throe him in the tests instead and not alter the winning combination....
 
Pak perfromed well but it has a lot to do with Colombo track which is flat in day and ball starts swinging at night under the light. I think the team combination was better with Nazir at the top, Umer in the middle and Rana replacing Gul, who for some reason struggled with new ball.

I think Pak weakness again bouncy and seam bowling is still there. Bowling looks strong if we can get Asif and Gul in full form. Remember that Rana did not take wkts with his regular balls and once teams learn how to read his slow ball, he will struggle against good teams.
 
one serious thing yunus lacks as a captian is, he cant handle the team under pressure of winning the tournament, he goes too defensive on the vital occasions, just like dambulla 2nd odi, but i am quiet pleased how he made the team attack both in bowling and fielding today, and hope so he does well as a captain in future.
 
i think, asif has got all opportunity to fix his stand in the team, because, even rao and rana did well in two matches but even then, asif has got more talent, more experience, and if he's in form then no doubt, he welcome in the final XI. also not to forget gul in injured and unfit, didnt prove too much of himseld in one days and test this lanka tour.
