How do you know that he got out because he was fasting? Stop trying to show that you are some sort of a genius who knows everything.

Missed the point.

By fasting and playing cricket in this heat and humidity, it is not possible for him to be in peak physical condition. Fasting might not have a direct influence on his dismissal or performance, but he is ensuring that he is not at 100% peak condition due to his religious beliefs, and that is not acceptable when you are on national duty.

However, not surprising that people are okay with it. Sums up the mentality of this nation.

2010 was 5 years ago, so I am not sure what your point is there?
And if your biggest concern is that a debutant has not ousted a 40 averaging middle order batsmen, then I am not sure we have anything to discuss

2010 was our last England tour (if thats all we are preparing for then surely the last tour is relevant). Low 40's average at number 6 whilst playing the vast majority of your tests in Asia is not that special in the modern age. In the same period Younis, Misbah and Azhar have all better numbers despite Azhar practically opening. If you are looking to introduce new blood in the middle order then Shafiq is clearly the weak link. No Cricket analyst in their right mind would be looking to replace Younis (as long as he is performing) until we have a replacement for Shafiq (or Shafiq becomes more consistent) & have found a suitable successor for Misbah. Surely if Haris or Babar or Fawad or whoever you suggest was capable of ousting BOTH Younis & Misbah right now (who have been averaging closer to 50 then 40) then they would have had no problem out performing Shafiq in first class cricket and claiming his spot.

Yah he should have taken break from cricket in the month of ramadan.
