The team is too settled now with more than enough bowling options available. It would be much better to just keep Broad fit for and accustomed to tests rather than play him in limited overs in my opinion given the amount of options available.
SOuth africa will be dangerous and competitive side in odis.england should rethink about squad that plays against pakistan.
TOPLEY and David willey are not experienced.they will struggle against attacking batting of africa .Finn and Broad is must for England against africa in odis
Broad is being conserved for tests just like Anderson was. England don't particularly care about ODIs. Anyway if the need arises I'm sure Broad will play the next WC in England.
Broad already said he wants to be a part of 2019 World Cup in his home. I'm sure he'll be integrated into the team somewhere down the line.
The key here is England pay their test cricketers enough to hold them from cash rich leagues which is the reason he bowled most numbed of overs in tests in the last 5-6 years long with Andersen.
England don't need him in the shorter formats. I doubt he wants to play ODIs anymore either, he's getting older and has already lost pace.
They do now, not only because of the World Cup debacle, but the Champions Trophy and next World Cup is to be hosted by England - it'd be embarrassing for the ECB for the home nation to stink the joint out like 1999. Director of cricket Andrew Strauss has also talked about a greater limited overs emphasis - they've even talked about Buttler heading off to the IPL and missing part of the home season.

Its very hard to take the ECB seriously when it comes to their LOI setup. I remember a hue and a cry when England lost to Ireland in the 2011 WC. But then by the time of the time of the 2015 WC, once again they were the worst of the top 8 teams - worse than WI,BAN and SL . They may have beaten Pakistan in an ODI series but that's just an anomaly. England have somehow always had wood over Pakistan in bilateral ODI's while struggling against just about everybody else.
Beat NZ in the summer and run Australia very close for their money as well whilst also now being unbeaten in T20 for 1.5 years. Assume that's all an anomaly as well.
Useless bilaterals. England don't stand a chance either at the T20 WC for starters.
Is that what you tell yourself to keep faith every-time you lose a series?
What does this have to do with India?England are quite average in LOIs and theres no harm in pointing it out. Being knocked out in the first round of last years WC was embarrassing especially when teams like WI managed to qualify for the quarters.
