It is a good movie not mediocre, I had no expectation after reading critics but after watching the movie, I reckon I have seen different movie than what critics have seen. Tbh I enjoyed it more than civil war but that's just my opinion other can disagree .

Apparently, David Ayer's movie was destroyed by WB in order to compete with Marvel rather than let it be. They made it lighter. Ayer to his credit has not whined about it unlike Josh Trank of Fantastic Four.
Ayer is a solid director. He made Fury, End of Watch and Street Kings. He also wrote Training Day. So, his pedigree is there. But if the big production wants to shred your movie, whatcha gonna do?
I will wait for Ayer's version to hopefully hit DVDs and then watch it.

I dont think Green Lantern qualifies for this discussion it is old and unrelated and I liked man of steel was a good movie also I never said I liked BvS just said batman was very good in it also wonder women...if not for directors addiction with creating moments and slow mo massive scenes it would have been a decent movie it works sometimes like it did for watchmen and it failed with BVS.
Being better than GL is nothing to be proud of.

Nolan had a big say in Man of Steel..hence the over-serious & grim tone which works fine with Batman movies. BvS had it's moments but is overall a big mess.
Marvel have been busy building their cinematic universe while WB/DC were busy churning out crap like Dare Devil & Superman Returns. Now they are trying to play catch-up hence the rushed movies.

I'm not into superheroes at all, but I wonder for how long will the same superheroes be milked?

there is no need to replace superheroes like batman, superman because they are universally loved and are enduring characters.
if any of those major superhero franchises starts feeling tired, they just reboot the whole series again. u forget that superman has had a hugely successful movie run spanning almost 40 years and batman 30 years.

DareDevil, Jessica Jones and Preacher are pretty decent comic book related TV series which are refreshing and worth a look but as far as movies are concerned storylines are recycled based on the same old characters you mentioned. However there's a movie coming up based on the Black Panther, guy who directed Creed is in charge of the project

The names dont mean anything. Dont care who the superhero is as long as they make a good movie! These wannabe Zack snyder type filmmakers dont even hald 1/10th of Nolans brain or ability but still they should make a good movie in stead of trying to fool stupid fans. I don't know why they hire those guys when the movies are heavily edited anyway, b v s and MOS were both mediocre but he did make watchmen and that was pretty good especially the ultimate cut.
Nolan could return to the genre in the future given the ending of TDKR perhaps they could carve out an original story based on Robin John Blake who was portrayed by Gordon-Levitt.
The DC animated movies and TV shows are quality, don't disappoint as much as the movies

They should hire someone willing and capable of making good movies in stead of someone who wants to do everything "for the fans" who are mostly stupid and will get excited the more superheroes and villiains you put into a movie. The director of this movie wrote training day which was good so im surprised.

The Affleck movie had a Director's cut come out a few years later. It was so much better than the original.
It proves how a movie can be destroyed in post production.

Had high hopes from the movie ,but every review seems to think of it as worse than BVS,lucky for these morons DC comics does a good job so the hardcore fans wouldn't leave whereas Marvel has acquired so many new non-comic ones just into their series and movies.

Good to see you around bro! Agree with you, have noticed that generally the DC comics fan have been satisfied with the movies thus far. Can see to an extent why the movies are critically panned but they do seem overly harsh. I was lead to believe MOS would take inspiration from the Nolan series but after being dissapointed with that my expectations are always low going into the DC movies which come out now, think affleck batman should be good though

Watched it...and you know what? I enjoyed it! Pure comic book entertainment. All the characters were well played well & you actually cared for them. The action scenes are high octane. Though, the villain was just OK.
I am not sure why this movie is being slated so much. It is far more entertaining than BvS & MoS.
The Joker was good but he made a cameo of sorts..need to see more of him. Batman's cameo is brooding!

I’d say if Bats v Supes was a marathon, suicide squad was a sprint. It was obvious that the movie was heavily edited but I don’t think that necessarily took away from the movie. It was a good modern action movie with a fast pace, the movie scores were good and strangely fit into the dynamic of suicide squad, also enjoyed the intro/back-story of each member of the suicide squad and thought it was done very well.
It did feel like the movie had its own flavour and I guess that’s not always going to be everyone’s cup of tea, it had that comicy feel to it and critics simply don’t get such movies so their snobbery is misdirected (how many of them even read comic books?). It also doesn't help that such snobs have their head stuck in a place where the sun don't shine when reviewing the movie or doing so with a negative mindset without even having seen the damn thing.
Totally agree with you ! Also felt that the obstacle in the narrative and villain could have been more convincing and perhaps they could have slowed things down a little so that the viewer could get a little more invested emotionally when it came to the story but it was a signature movie in the action genre. Thoroughly enjoyed the Joker character! It’s a shame that after all the hype his screen time was limited to a glorified cameo! Harley Quinn was great and especially Will Smith, don’t understand the hate when he generally nails a variety of roles; a very versatile actor.
All in all think the critics have got it wrong again, the audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes (74%) and Metacritic (6.8/10) are a more objective reflection of the movie quality.
Never read too much into the end credits scene? it seems like Amanda is getting bats to do some of her dirty work but she also does some favours for him. Also, maybe in affleck's batman Deadshot will play a pivotal role given the interaction they had which was so good! and I agree bats was brooding!

Every idiot out there expects all these comic book movies to be an imitation of Nolan's Batman series which I don't even classify in the super-hero genre, more of a a crime/drama/thriller with an environment which paid homage to the modern world rather then the DC Universe.
It could work with batman given the nature of his character and his abilities but not every super-hero movie has to be depicted like Nolan's series but most seem to expect that. Super-hero movies should be judged individually and they are signature entries in the action/adventure genre, there will always have a comicy feel to it with more style then substance; they revolve around just that more then a compelling narrative but that's not to say it shouldn't be half decent.

Meh most people just want a good entertaining movie. Neither Superman vs Batman nor Suicide Squad are particularly entertaining. Man of Steel and Superman vs Batman bored me at lot of places. Compare with DeadPool which has much more comic book feeling but people loved.
So you are just making excuses for some movies which are being poorly made

It is about Nolan to, most people who say x,y,z is really bad are quick to big up his batman series which was in a league of its own by the way! Snyder also made watchmen, that is arguably better then deadpool especially the ultimate cut but was ahead of it's time and the R Rating hindered how it was received from the critics unlike with deadpool which would not have received overwhelmingly positive reviews 7-8 years ago.
However, in this era WB heavily edit these movies which affect their overall quality. They could certainly be better but are not as bad to warrant these 1 and 2's out of 10.
Am a comic book fan so I guess I find them a little more enjoyable then others so I gave Bat v Supes 7/10, if I wasn't I'd have given it a 6/10. With Suicide Squad as a comic book fan a 6.5/10, if I wasn't about 6/10.

Ben Affleck's Batman is going to be the best DC movie in about 4-5 years, even though B v S poor reviews were incredibly exaggerated they did play a big role in ensuring the movie did not touch the $1 billion mark despite the brilliant start. That could be a blessing in disguise when it comes to future DC movies which will be made with a better and more consistent narrative hopefully. Although I expect the Justice League to be quiet similar to BvS.

Good to see people with some kind of film sense bash this movie while the annoying fans will keep denying how bad it is. Some idiots don't care how good or bad a movie is. They just wanna see superheroes/villains. There people are a reason why movies are in a decline.

Thought Bats v Supes was better imo. And with suicide squad I think I've tried to judge it a little too positively given how the reviews are overwhelmingly negative and you get narrow minded snobs who will crap all over the movies regardless.
But at best I'd give Suicide Squad a 5 or 5.5 out of 10 now that I have had a little bit of time to reflect, the userscore on metacritic for the movie is 6.7. B v S was about a 6.5/10 for me..

What are people's thoughts about this trash now? Was I right or was I right? People are hyping up the next justice league movie. I swear we live in the worst time for movies since the 50s. Clueless people hype up this kind of garbage so they will get this garbage. And then these idiots hate on movie critics as if they themselves know Jack about what makes a good movie. You still see people saying "I don't care what the critics say, suicide squad was a good movie" Bunch of idiots. Critics are often wrong but usually the majority are right

Most people gave this a 5 or 5.5 out of 10 outside a minority, and it's not hard to predict it was going to be rubbish and there's actually a backlash against Justice League not as many people are excited for it and their trailers have been negatively received. The DC movies have been trash in general including WonderWoman, Man of Steel had a lot more hype then any of these
The hype was basically because the source material was way too good ! MCU's best movies were actually made
about some of their lower tier (read less popular) stars and even their best properties (Barring X-Men and Spiderman) didn't have the same ,mass appeal as many DC heroes . So DC actually had an easier job than marvel, they just needed to translate the ALREADY hugely popular roster to screen, which they failed actually .

Aliasad doesn't read books or graphic novels like us, he just watches movies and judges them so won't get the prior hype. But the best way to explain it would be when it was decided they would make movies out of the Lord of the Rings series and Harry Potter or more recently the TV Show Game of Thrones, when the source material is so good folk are naturally going to be hyped but as we've seen with many adaptations in the past not all do the source material justice and often the literature is always a lot more compelling.

I tried to watch Suicide Squad when it came out on Sky Cinema, but had to give up halfway through and delete it. Absolute trash film. Never watched any Justice League movie either, and for the same reason you gave. The critics don't always agree, but if there's a movie worth watching, you can guarantee it will have had decent reviews for the most part. Never heard anything about JL so can assume it's not that good.

I think every sane movie critic saw it coming, superhero movies are absolute dross, marvel, avengers, etc, its just all big explosions and the same cliched story of good vs bad.
It's been ages since we've seen a complex film like Dark Knight, the Joker was so complex, dark and outstanding.
