Most teams will start to focus on Transfers for 2024/25 season.

3) if you could pick 2 players this summer (realistically attainable) for your club to sign.

1) It's hardly a secret but Mbappe to Real Madrid will be the biggest signing

2) This is difficult to call since if it's a shock then it's unexpected

3) Olise and Ederson

Marseille in advanced talks to buy Mason Greenwood from Manchester United

Mason Greenwood held constructive discussions at Manchester United’s Carrington training centre on Monday morning with the club’s football leadership regarding a move away. Marseille have lodged a bid for the forward and talks are advanced, with United valuing the player at £40m.

The meeting with the football leadership group, which is led by Dan Ashworth, the sporting director, was brief and considered positive, but Greenwood did not take part in training with Erik ten Hag’s squad and is not expected to do so this summer. This follows his exile from the team after he was arrested in January 2022. Subsequent criminal charges were dropped the following year.

Greenwood played on loan at Getafe last season, scoring 10 goals in 36 appearances and making six assists. The 22-year-old has returned to England and is thought to be training in the Manchester area. Before Marseille’s offer, Valencia also made a bid and there is understood to be interest from other clubs in mainland Europe.

In October 2022 Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He denied all the counts and criminal charges were dropped in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew their cooperation from the investigation and new material came to light, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Greenwood last played for United in January 2022 and has a contract to 2025, with the club having the option to extend for a further year.

Manchester United are keen to sell Sweden defender Victor Lindelof, 29, this summer and will also listen to offers for 32-year-old Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen.

£95m spent, six players bought - who are Chelsea's early summer signings?

Chelsea have been busy in the transfer market - yet again - this summer, bringing in five new players so far.

Some were deals you may have missed while all eyes were on the European Championship.

So who have they signed, and how have they managed to do it with the Premier League's finance rules?

Tosin Adarabioyo

Centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo joined Chelsea on a four-year deal after his contract at Fulham ran out.

The 26-year-old, who is eligible to play for England or Nigeria, has been one of Fulham's key players but rejected a new deal there.

The 6ft 5in defender has taken the number four shirt - and will be hoping to replace Thiago Silva team.

"Chelsea is a huge club and this is a full-circle moment for me," said the Manchester City academy product. "I was born three miles away from Stamford Bridge and made my professional debut there."

Omari Kellyman

Chelsea signed Aston Villa and England Under-20 midfielder Omari Kellyman in a deal worth up to £19m.

The 18-year-old only started one game for Villa - making another five substitute appearances - after a £600,000 move from Derby in 2022.

Kellyman, who can also play up front, has signed a six-year deal at Chelsea with the option of a seventh.

"I feel like I will be able to take my opportunity as and when it comes," he said.

"Hopefully, I can become one of the faces on the side of the stadium. I want to become a big player for this club."

Marc Guiu

Chelsea only had to pay £5m to sign striker Marc Guiu - but that is not a reflection of his value.

The 18-year-old had a release clause of only 6m euros, which Barcelona tried to renegotiate with a new deal - but he joined Chelsea instead on a five-year contract.

He scored two goals in seven games for Barca's first team - including one just 23 seconds into his debut against Athletic Bilbao.

It is thought Chelsea see the Spain Under-19 frontman as part of their first-team squad.

"It's an immense joy to sign for Chelsea and I struggled to sleep ahead of the journey here because I was so excited," he said. "Ever since I was small, it was my dream to play in the Premier League."

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Chelsea paid £30m to sign Leicester City's versatile midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 25, on a six-year deal.

He came through the Foxes academy and played 129 times for the club, scoring 17 goals - with 12 of them in last season's Championship promotion campaign.

He also set up 12 league goals last season and was named the club's player of the year.

New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca knows him well from his time at Leicester last season.

"I spoke to Enzo Maresca about adding more goals to my game and thought of methods to do it and I have managed to do that," said Dewsbury-Hall.

"It was nice to get into double figures. That is something I will try to do again this year because I am an attacking player trying to make a difference in the final third of the pitch."

Leicester did not want to lose him, but needed the money to meet the Premier League profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

Renato Veiga

Chelsea have also signed versatile Basel player Renato Veiga for £12m on a seven-year deal.

The 20-year-old can play in central defence, at left-back or in midfield. He joined Basel last summer for about £4m from Sporting Lisbon, having also been wanted by Burnley.

The Portugal Under-21 international had a loan spell at Bundesliga side Augsburg in 2023.

"I'm comfortable on the ball and I would describe myself as a complete player due to my versatility," he said.

Estevao Willian - for next season

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian for an initial £29m - after his 18th birthday.

The Brazilian will spend the next year with Palmerias as he is not allowed to move countries while he is 17.

"Estevao is the best player to have emerged from Brazilian football since Neymar. You watch him and you fall in love," the head of Palmeiras' academy, Joao Paulo Sampaio, told BBC Sport.

How have Chelsea been allowed to sign these players?

BBC senior football reporter Nizaar Kinsella said: "Chelsea have sold £85m worth of talent, which includes Ian Maatsen to Aston Villa, Lewis Hall to Newcastle and Omari Hutchinson to Ipswich, to help fund their latest transfer splurge.

"There was also the controversial sale of two hotels for £76.5m to a sister company that helped balance the last set of books, while Mason Mount's £55m transfer to Manchester United is believed to have been booked on the 2023-24 season accounts.

"They anticipate the banking of a sizeable windfall for participating in the inaugural summer Club World Cup next season."

Which strikers could be on the move this summer?

Plenty of Premier League clubs are on the hunt for a new forward in the summer transfer window, but which players are likely to move?

Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United have been linked with attacking talent.

BBC Sport takes a look at the players who could be playing elsewhere this season.

Jonathan David

Current club:
Lille Age: 24 Interested: Manchester United, Newcastle, Tottenham

Jonathan David is available for about £25m as he has only one year left on his contract, so he could be incredibly shrewd business for a Premier League club.

He is admired by Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham.

He is also seen as an alternative target for Chelsea should other deals fall through (more on those below).

Did you know? This summer David scored Canada's first goal in Copa America history and helped them reach the semi-finals.

Victor Osimhen

Current club:
Napoli Age: 25 Interested: Paris St-Germain

The Napoli striker is struggling to garner much interest since a widely publicised £113m release clause was included in his contract.

Should that price drop, he could find a move to England.

Paris St-Germain and clubs in Saudi Arabia are also believed to have shown an interest.

Did you know? Osimhen has scored 48 goals in 71 games for Napoli in the past two seasons.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Current club:
Everton Age: 27 Interested: Newcastle

Dominic Calvert-Lewin may leave Everton if he doesn’t sign a new deal. The Englishman has an offer on the table from the club but has yet to agree terms, with one year left on his current deal.

Newcastle were most interested this summer but pulled out of negotiations over the near-£40m asking price, and the Toffees are under no pressure to sell any of their big-name players.

Did you know? Calvert-Lewin has scored 54 goals in 213 Premier League appearances since his debut in 2016.

Samu Omorodion

Current club:
Atletico Madrid Age: 20 Interested: Chelsea

Chelsea want a striker and Samu Omorodion appears to be their primary target.

The Blues had a £34m bid rejected last month but Atletico Madrid are keen to hold on to the Spaniard, who was on loan at Alaves last season.

Did you know? Omorodion scored eight goals in 34 La Liga appearances for Alaves last term.

Armando Broja

Current club:
Chelsea Age: 22 Interested: Everton

If Dominic Calvert-Lewin does leave Everton then the Toffees may reignite their long-standing interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

Although Everton said this year that there was no interest in the Albanian because they could not afford to spend £30m on players, the situation could change later in the summer if the takeover from the Friedkin Group goes through.

Did you know? Broja made his Premier League debut against Everton in March 2020, coming on for Olivier Giroud in a 4-0 win for Chelsea.

Who else could be on the move?

Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney frequently appears in BBC Sport's gossip column and reportedly favours a switch to Manchester United.

Chelsea and Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in forward Alexander Isak, who has scored 31 goals in 52 league games for Newcastle since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022 for about £60m.

Crystal Palace and England forward Eberechi Eze has been linked with Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and United.

In April Palace said they would not entertain offers of less than £60m each for Eze and Michael Olise, who joined Bayern Munich for about £50m this month.

European giants Paris St-Germain and Barcelona are reported to be considering moves for United's England forward Marcus Rashford.

Rashford, 26, has scored 131 goals in 402 appearances for United since his debut in 2016.

City are rumoured to be interested in RB Leipzig's Spain forward Dani Olmo, whose £50m release clause has expired.

Liverpool are keen on Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon, with Luis Diaz’s future at Anfield uncertain, while Tottenham are looking at Wolves' Pedro Neto.

BBC

Marseille close in on £17m deal for Tottenham's Hojbjerg

French club Marseille are in advanced talks to sign Tottenham and Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The 28-year-old is believed to be ready to leave north London and is available for about £17m.

Discussions are continuing over payment terms, but both sides expect the deal to go through.

Hojbjerg joined Spurs in 2020 in a £15m deal from Southampton, when Jose Mourinho was in charge.

The midfielder made 39 appearances for the club last season but only 10 of those were starts as Ange Postecoglou favoured Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr in central midfield.

The Dane has entered the last year of his contract with Tottenham and will be available on a free transfer in 2025 if fresh terms are not agreed.

Spurs have strengthened their midfield this summer with the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds, while Lucas Bergvall has joined from Swedish club Djurgardens.

Marseille have been on a recruitment drive since appointing former Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi.

Forward Mason Greenwood has joined from Manchester United and midfielder Ismael Kone completed a move from Watford this month, while they are reportedly interested in Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

BBC

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly launched a formal approach for Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Erik ten Hag is keen to add another centre-back having already signed Leny Yoro for £52million from Lille.

And Bild's Christian Falk reports that Old Trafford chiefs have had an initial offer worth £29.5m rejected.

Bayern are reportedly holding out for £42m plus add-ons.

The Bundesliga outfit are believed to need to sell players to fund their own summer spend and talks are continuing between the clubs.

Ten Hag introduced De Ligt to first-team action while they were at Ajax together.

The pair maintain a good relationship and De Ligt fits the profile of ball-playing centre-back United are keen on.

New signing Yoro has got off to a flier since joining United.

Fans took to social media to praise him after a clip of the 18-year-old playing a brilliant pass went viral.

And Yoro was also hailed for a brilliant last-ditch tackle in a 2-0 friendly win over Rangers.

Aston Villa make João Félix a target after agreeing £50m Moussa Diaby sale

  • Félix sent on loans by Atlético Madrid since January 2023
  • Diaby joining Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia after one season

Felix scoring 10 goals in 44 appearances for Barcelona across 2023-24. Chelsea paid €11m (£9.7m) to borrow Félix for the second half of 2022-23 and although it is unclear how viable a deal is, he is a player of interest to Unai Emery. Félix is under contract at Atlético until 2027.

The 24-year-old Portugal forward is an intriguing prospect for Emery, who admires players capable of operating across the front line, such as the January signing Morgan Rogers. Villa admire the Athletic winger Nico Williams, who has a €58m (£49m) release clause, but the Spain forward, one of the stars of Euro 2024, is a priority target for Barcelona.

Diaby is expected to sign a five-year contract

Aston Villa have signed midfielder Amadou Onana from Everton in a £50m deal.

The 22-year-old played every minute of Belgium's Euro 2024 campaign and now has the opportunity to represent Villa in the new season's Champions League.

Onana joined Everton from Lille for £33m in 2022 and made 72 appearances for the Toffees, scoring four goals.

He was linked with a move to Arsenal in 2023, and a host of top clubs were reportedly keen this summer.

Villa boss Unai Emery had been in the market for a new defensive midfielder after the club sold Douglas Luiz to Juventus for £42.35m in June.

Villa, who finished fourth in the Premier League last term, are strengthening for the challenge of Champions League competition in the coming campaign.

They have not featured at that elite level since the 1982-83 season, the campaign after they won the European Cup.

The arrival of Onana has taken Villa's summer spending to about £140m.

Villa have also spent £35m on signing Ian Maatsen from Chelsea, £18.6m on the double signing of Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus, £18m on Jaden Philogene’s return from Hull, £5m on Ross Barkley's move from Luton and £9m on Lewis Dobbin's transfer from Everton.

They will begin their Premier League campaign at West Ham on Saturday 17 August.

The 28-year-old will join the Ligue 1 side on an initial loan, with the agreement including an obligation to buy for £17m.

Everton sign Napoli midfielder Lindstrom on loan

Everton have signed Napoli midfielder Jesper Lindstrom on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old's deal includes an option for the Toffees to permanently buy the Denmark international.

Lindstrom, who has been capped 16 times by his country, played 29 games for Napoli last season after signing from German side Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023.

"It's amazing to represent Everton," he told evertontv. "This is a big club, with a big history, a good stadium and, as I've seen, very good facilities as well. I'm very, very happy to be here and I feel like this is a good fit.

"I've spoken to the manager. It sounds as though he likes the way I play football and I can be a good fit for the team with my speed, so now I want to deliver.

"I know he trusts me and that's another reason I'm here, because I need that trust from the coach and I need trust from my team-mates. I'm ready to show them I can help."

Lindstrom started Eintracht Frankfurt's Europa League final victory over Rangers in 2022, scoring 12 goals in 57 Bundesliga games before his move to Italy.

The versatile midfielder failed to score in his first season for Napoli and struggled for game time at the end of last season.

"I've played international football and in the Champions League and Europa League," added Lindstrom. "I feel like I'm ready. I feel like I can help the team and that is what I want to do. I want to show the fans that I'm here.

"This is a season for me to come back on track. I think this is a very good fit for me and I'm ready to show why I should stay here."

West Ham's move for Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui has broken down.

Man United remain interested and talks are ongoing while West Ham are now pursuing other targets.

Brighton's Gross joins boyhood club Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross for an undisclosed fee.

The Germany international spent seven years on the south coast after joining Brighton from German club Ingolstadt in 2017.

The 33-year-old is Brighton's all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 30 goals, and in all competitions he scored 32 times and laid on 52 assists in 261 appearances for the Seagulls.

Brighton wanted to keep Gross but the German had expressed a desire to play for boyhood club Dortmund.

"We are really sorry to lose Pascal, but we fully understood his situation," said Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler.

"It is understandable that he wanted to take the opportunity to join one of the very top clubs in Germany, and he goes with our best wishes for the future."

Hurzeler added he was "disappointed" not to get the chance to work with Gross at the club.

Gross was Brighton's first signing after their promotion to the Premier League in 2017.

He scored the club's first top-flight goal in 34 years during a win against West Brom.

His form for the club earned him a call-up to Germany's squad for the first time at the age of 32 and he played at Euro 2024, when the hosts were knocked out by Spain at the quarter-final stage.

BBC

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has agreed to join Atletico Madrid

The Blues had accepted a £33m offer from the Spanish side last week but there were significant concerns about whether the England international was interested in making the move.

But on Sunday night Gallagher, 24, told Atletico officials he is happy to make the switch.

The England international is now expected to fly and complete his medical and contract signing, which would end his 18-year spell at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had offered a two-year deal with an option for an extra year, but it was deemed unfavourable by Gallagher due to both the length of the contract and the inferior squad role offered.

A natural divide had emerged between Gallagher and Chelsea as he was believed to be a poor fit for new manager Enzo Maresca's possession-based style of play and would not be a regular starter under the Italian.

Gallagher, who played five matches at Euro 2024, has less than one year left on his current Chelsea deal.

Chelsea preferred to sell Gallagher overseas than to an English rival so allowed Atletico to achieve a cut-price deal.

Barcelona have signed Spain playmaker Dani Olmo from German side RB Leipzig

The 26-year-old returns to Barcelona in a deal worth a reported 60m euros (£51m), external after playing for the Spanish club at youth level before joining Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb in 2014.

Olmo has signed a six-year contract with Barcelona that has a release clause of 500m euros (£429m).

He was joint top-scorer at Euro 2024 with three goals as he helped Spain win the tournament for a record fourth time.

"Wherever he plays, Olmo stands out for his individual talent and his ability to link up with his team-mates," Barcelona said in a statement.

"He has a nose for goal as he showed in Euro 2024 and can score from inside and outside the penalty area."

Olmo won two German Cups at RB Leipzig after joining them in 2020.

"A young club, a young player. We grew up, won our first trophies and made history together," he said on X.

"Thank you RB Leipzig, you'll forever be in my heart."

Brighton have signed Germany Under-21 international Brajan Gruda in a £25m deal from Bundesliga side Mainz

Gruda, 20, has agreed a four-year deal with Brighton and manager Fabian Hurzeler says he is looking forward to working with the midfielder.

He broke through with Mainz last season and made 28 appearances as he helped the club retain their top-flight status.

"I saw the big impact he made last season in the Bundesliga and he's a player I admire a lot," said Hurzeler.

Gruda, who trained with Germany's senior team prior to Euro 2024 and was tipped for a call-up before having to pull out through injury, had been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

He has played for Germany at all youth age groups from the age of 15 and has made seven appearances for the under-21s.

Forest sign left-back Moreno on loan from Villa

Nottingham Forest have signed Aston Villa left-back Alex Moreno on loan for the rest of the season, with an option for a permanent deal.

The Spaniard, 31, had fallen behind behind new signing Ian Maatsen and Lucas Digne in the pecking order at Villa Park.

Moreno joined Villa from La Liga side Real Betis in January 2023 in a £13.2m deal and was Unai Emery's first signing, having previously been linked with Forest.

He played in 21 Premier League games last season as Villa finished fourth to qualify for the Champions League.

Brentford sign Liverpool's Van den Berg for £25m

Brentford have signed defender Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool in a deal worth up to £25m.

The 22-year-old Dutchman joins the Bees on a five-year contract after turning down interest from a number of other clubs, including German champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Brentford will pay an initial £20m fee, with an additional £5m in add-ons, while Liverpool have a 17.5% sell-on clause.

Bees boss Thomas Frank said the defender was a "great signing" for the club.

"Sepp is a centre-back with a good level and he has the potential to develop even further," he added.

"He fits our culture and the way we want to play - he is quick, he reads the game well and is composed on the ball in the build-up and in the decisive defending actions.

"Sepp is a great character, and I am convinced that he will fit in well with the group and help us to push forward."

Leicester sign Palace forward Ayew for £5m

Leicester have signed Ghana forward Jordan Ayew on a two-year contract from Crystal Palace in a deal worth an initial £5m.

Ayew, who has spent the past six years at Palace since initially joining on loan in 2018, will boost the Foxes' attacking options.

He made 212 appearances for Palace, scoring 23 goals, and was a second-half substitute in their 2-1 defeat by Brentford on Sunday.

The 32-year-old - whose fee could rise to £8m including add-ons - joins Oliver Skipp as a new signing at the King Power Stadium, with the midfielder arriving from Tottenham for £20m earlier this week.

Leicester boss Steve Cooper had made it clear he was looking to add more forward options to his squad.

"I'm very happy to be here and I'm proud. I want to thank the club as they fought hard to bring me here - it happened quickly and I'm so happy to be here," Ayew said.

"As a player, when you hear that the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve.

"Even though I'm 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I'm here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets."

Promoted Leicester drew 1-1 with Spurs in their first game of the Premier League season on Monday, with Jamie Vardy scoring the equaliser.

The Foxes travel to Fulham for their next league match on Saturday (15:00 BST).

Southampton agree £25m deal for Arsenal keeper Ramsdale

Southampton have agreed a fee with Arsenal to sign England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in a deal worth up to £25m.

Ramsdale, 26, is expected to make the move before Friday's transfer deadline, with Saints paying £18m upfront with the potential of £7m in add-ons.

Speaking to BBC Radio Solent after Southampton’s 5-3 Carabao Cup second round win at Cardiff, Saints boss Russell Martin said: "If it happens it’s very, very exciting.

"But we'll have to wait and see. I’m sure we’ll talk about it at some point if and when it happens."

Wolverhampton Wanderers had been in talks with Arsenal about signing the keeper, who is back-up to David Raya at Emirates Stadium.

However, they pulled out because of the deal being too expensive.

Ramsdale played every minute of every league game as Arsenal finished second behind Manchester City in 2022-23.

However, he lost his place to Raya, who joined on loan from Brentford last season.

Ramsdale made just six league appearances while Arsenal have since turned Raya's loan into a permanent signing.

In total he made 78 Premier League appearances for Arsenal after joining from Sheffield United in 2021 for £24m.

The ex-Bournemouth keeper joins a Southampton side that has lost both games since winning promotion back to the Premier League.

Goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, 34, started the games against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, both of which ended in 1-0 defeats.

Ramsdale has five England caps, the most recent coming against Iceland in June in England's farewell game before the European Championship in Germany.

Leicester sign Genk midfielder El Khannouss for £21m

Leicester have signed attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss from Genk for a fee in the region of £21m.

The 20-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Premier League side.

He won the Belgian Pro League's Young Player of the Season award in 2023-24 and was also part of the Morocco squad who won bronze at the Olympic Games in Paris earlier this month.

He also featured for his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as they reached the semi-finals.

The Belgium-born player started his career at Anderlecht before moving to Genk, for whom he made 51 appearances in all competitions last season.

"I’m very happy," he said. "Leicester City is a big club in England and it’s always a dream for a young guy like me to play in the Premier League so I’m very excited and I hope to achieve big things here.

"I talked with the manager, and I immediately had a good feeling with the club."

Reports in Belgium suggested El Khannouss had not trained since Monday in order to force a move to King Power Stadium.

"With a bit more experience, he might have handled it a bit differently in the past few days," said Genk coach Thorsten Fink at a news conference in Belgium on Thursday.

Leicester host Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday after collecting one point from their opening two games.

Marseille sign Everton striker Maupay

French club Marseille have signed Everton forward Neal Maupay on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy the forward in 2025.

The 28-year-old joined Everton in 2022 from Brighton and scored once in 32 appearances for the Toffees.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at former club Brentford, where he scored eight times in 31 games.

Maupay was entering the final year of his deal at Goodison Park and had not featured in either of Everton's first two Premier League matches this season.

The move sees Maupay join former Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi in France.

The club have also signed Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.

Everton have signed Jake O'Brien, Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam in this summer transfer window.

The Toffees are hopeful of completing a loan deal for Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala, 26, before the window closes.
