David miller and trent buolt only get 100k....there is lot more competition in overseas slots...
 
James Coles getting a big deal makes sense. Very exciting prospect. Meanwhile no PSL franchise was smart enough to pick him.
 
Abrar is a good pick and so is UT. I didn’t think others, barring Farhan, would be in much demand given there are better overseas players to choose from. Recency factor does make a difference too and Pakistan haven’t done any favors to themselves there.

Rauf is a decent pick but not in the marquee category
 
This 1-2 token players chosen is Pakistan cricket's worst nightmare. Now they have sacrificed their right to whine in future without a full quota of players having been chosen.
 
Perfect, the 2 best t20 bowling talent from Pak have been picked. Both mystery spinners valuable in this format. With the rest there is no bias, just better options available. Hope people see there was no discrimination now :)

But there’s something that may help people understand the IPL better.

Abrar’s selection is pure commercial logic based on estimates of the players’ worth and expected return. No favours done, perform for money invested. Ruthless, merit based.

You have value, we invest. Now you perform.

Leave aside that Pakistan doesnt participate, that’s how IPL works.

Knowing the BCCI, do you think that they had these two mystery bowlers picked so their mystery can be unravelled?

This opens up so many opportunities for Abrar. For example Markram was hired by Lucknow Giants. The same conglomerate owns Durban Super Giants and now in hundred with the same owner.

If he impresses, will open so many doors for him and with working for such Indian conglomerates might help with his communication and other attributes. Abrar works for Maran family now 😀. Any DMK supporters here?

London Spirit head coach Andy Flower talking to BBC Sport about Pakistan players being signed: "It is a really good thing that Usman Tariq was signed and then Abrar Ahmed by Sunrisers Leeds. It is a really good thing for the tournament.

"Pakistan players are highly talented and we want a fair and equitable process and this is good evidence of that. I enjoyed watching that process."

Again, I would advice you to order that Webster's Dictionary from Amazon because you don't seem to understand the meaning of the words you are using.

We are not the ones who spent multiple pages on that other thread talking about how no Pakistani would be picked by an Indian-owned franchise.

Yeah Markram has a very good relationship with the owner too
 
Alot of big players like Hasaranga have gone unsold like so it's impressive that someone like Abrar was able to land this deal after a significant bidding war between Sunrisers and Trent Rockets. My guess is Dan Vettori thinks highly of him.
 
After years, maybe I’ve felt some genuine happiness at being a cricket fan.
 
Good stuff with Abrar. Looks like Indian owned franchises in The Hundred will pick PAK players after all.

We can fairly say that Rauf's value has diminished.

The shocker for me is still Tim Seifert not getting picked
