He is 23 years young. He has played only a handful of matches and so far his record looks good.

He played in the domestic T20 tournament now recently and was among the top wicket takers.

So those who have watched him in more than 1 match, is he any good? What about his pace? His control? Swing shwing?

Don't trust bowlers from KPK, they lack skill with the ball and don't understand the art of bowling. At best most of them would end up like Gul and Junaid which is nothing really.

Shinwari is the only one with decent credentials.

I think he has a same bowling action like Shapoor Zardran of Afg if I'm not wrong. He was surely troubling everyone in the event but he still needs to do a lot of work on his bowling..

At least Gul was a very successful bowler in the first few years and was the best T20 fast bowler. Junaid has been all hype so far.

Gul looked better than was become Shoaib was injured most of the time and he was surrounded by mediocre bowlers. No coincidence that as soon as Asif and Amir emerged, he started to look bang average. Had a good run in LOIs though, between 2007-2011.

A decent bowler at best who was never Test class and mentally quite fragile. One phainta meant confidence shattered for the next 6 months and he's still recovering from the Mohali assault courtesy Sehwag.

Who is this guy? He's doing really well this season, also playing in the Gold League.

Very impressive stats:

True. Cricket is our adopted game. We have given the sports of squash and hockey their true legends. Jahangir, Jansher and Brig Hameedi, Rasheed Jr etc.
For us to even produce the likes of gul, yk, jk, shah is a big plus

Hockey and Squash in Pakistam seems like a thing of the past now. When will Pakistan next produce a World Cup Winnig Hockey Team and Squash greats? Cricket is the only sport Pakistan still remains competitive in(and even in cricket we've declined)

When you were in top of the world in hockey and squash, that was the time when you should have developed the system or institutions so that talent had kept on coming. You didnt do that and are dacing the brunt. Ckt isnt far frin meeting the same fate either

If Gul is nothing, all one can conclude is that pretty much all bowlers are useless, barring one or two exceptions.

75 wickets from 48 matches at an average of 25 on flat tracks in the modern game that is batting orientated is hype? I've heard it all

But he had a funny hair style in haier t-20 and was 2nd highest wicket taker in the tournament.

This another great prospect from KPK right now. KPK surely is producing them in bulk ATM.

Junaid
Taj
Shinwari
Irfanullah Shah

Stocks are certainly not that depleted as people make them out to be TBH.

irfanullah and taj are trundlers. but i expect irfanullah to have a long and successful future for Pakistan. that guy looks like the second coming of asif.

all these bowlers need to increase their pace. swing at pace is important

Very impressed. Must be about 135 to 140 in my view. With inswing. He is swinging kookaburra

Taj is certainly not a trundler, not from what I am watching right now. He is clearly bowling around 138-142 at times and that is by no means trundling. The only thing I want him is to develop an out swinger that he bowl to Righties which could become lethal combined with his natural shape inwards towards a Right handed batsman.

Irfanullah Shah I believe is quite tall hence he would have extra bounce on conducive pitches and if he puts some meat on those thin bones then clearly he can become quite effect even with a speed of late 130s

Taj is getting outswing to the right handed batsmen. Not inswing.

dont think taj is bowling at 140 in this match. because juni is looking comfortably quicker and we know juni's pace. at best he is bowling at 132-135 range. this is where speed guns become important. his shape into the right handers is promising but it would only be effective if he is actually bowling at 140+ like u mentioned.

if what u are saying is correct then he can swing it both ways because i myself saw him shaping it into right handers.

Yes, clear difference between the pace of Junaid and others.

Junaid probably hitting 140, others are not more than 135.

Hmm, few balls I watched they were outswingers. Good to know that! :O

Top top bowler.

Get him in now.

Swings ball both ways and hits the seam too.

Natural ball is inswinger.

Same league as other lefties fighting for place behind Junaid.

actually the only bowler who is consistently swinging the kookaburra! both in the air and off the pitch. pace can be improved though!

When Junaid was new to the Pakistan side, he was also bowling in the 130's. Since Taj is bowling in the mid 130's and so not a complete trundler, I feel that if he gets the right support by the PCB, with improved fitness and nutrition, i'm confident he can increase his speed to the 140's range.

True.

He's the only one swinging the ball. Yesterday and today as well.

All others have bowled gun barrel straight.

Junaid, Sami, Gul, Mir Hamza. They don't have the ability to swing the Kookaburral ball, while this kid Taj does.

Need him in the side. Bullet Drive keeps dissing this talented bowler in the match thread. Maybe Taj Wali is not his customer yet.

You need some lessons in life.

Where have I dissed him? I said he is seaming not swinging. I wrote this about him incase you haven't seen through your bias glasses:

Top top bowler.

Get him in now.

His action is inconsistent and hence under pressure he will wilt. But looked better than some of the others on show, who also looked very average.

And even pace looks similar to Mcleneghan

mclenegan cranked it up to 145-146kph in the last ODI series although it was an effort ball. dont think taj's effort ball is anywhere near that.

Mcleneghan is predominently in 135-140kph bracket, I have even seen sohail tanvir touch 145 on odd occasions but that doesnt change the fact that he is a trundler...

Taj easily looks 135-138 kph, with little bit of work he can bowl around late 130s

got some good swing and bowled really well against a very good batting line up.

Lol.

Bowled better than every other bowler so far.

Sami, Junaid, Hamza, Gul etc.

Gul and Sami are past it and hamza is another hyped up player. Compare him to the internationals bowlers around and you will know he is mediocre.

thing is we badly need a bowler who can swing it. Anwar/Tanvir are mediocre and start serving gun barrel straight pies after 1-2 overs.

Wow. This guy looks very good. Swinging it both ways at a decent pace

Brilliant, bro.

Taj looks good only thing against him is that he is a leftie if he was a right handed bowler with same speed and skills he would have earned selection

Wrong bro, KPK produces the best bowlers. Its one thing that they are stubborn and dont think straight(often called takhtakhay), but they are hard workers/

Punjab produces best bowlers, Even if you consider now best bowlers are Aamer, Asif and Irfan (All from Punjab)

Before them it was shoaib, before them we had 2 W's and before that we had IK, Sarfraz, Fazal and Khan Mohammad all from Punjab

If Gul and Junaid are the established standards, there is no hope for the future.

How many fast bowlers have KPK produced in history? There is something wrong with the attitude of the players here, which is why not many players here make it. Of course we are quick to play the regional bias card but something is clearly wrong with the attitude of the players here.

Anyhow, I won't get my hopes up. I have no faith in our bowling resources anymore. Mir Hamza is the only one I have time for.

Mir Hamza is the only one I have time for.

Dont waste your time he is another trundler who can not swing the ball. Dont go with his domestic videos. Mirror version of Rao Iftikhar at max.

Haha have you followed his performance in the ongoing tournament?

Couldn't move the ball.

On the other hand, Taj Wali is the only one who has been regularly moving it in the air as well as off the pitch. Decent pace too, more than Hamza's.

All others bowling Junaid/Gul type straight, including Hamza with the Kookaburra.

I have, but let's not be judgmental. Maybe he will learn, looks a fantastic prospect to me.

Or maybe he won't learn, time will tell.

When is this kid going to get a chance? At least in A tours?

Brilliant prospect who can actually use the Kookaburra ball and move it at will. Very few in our domestic circle can make the Kookaburra talk.

Was excellent in the Pentangular Cup as well, but now totally ignored?

Impressive talent. Has pace. Swung the Kookaburra ball both ways last year in the Pentangular list A tournament. And his domestic statistics are impressive as well. Averaging under 24 in both First class and list A. What else can one wish for. And always seemed focused when was bowling.

Must have been selected in Pakistan A squad. Ok Sadaf was unfit. But what was the reason for not selecting him? The selector must answer.

Yea i watched him the kid was getting bounce on dead pitches and he is not that tall for that kinda bounce plus swings the ball gud simple action

Will get a go soon hopefully.

He needs to be called up soon. We desperately need swing bowlers. He can swing the kookaburra, fairly accurate and ideal pace.

Another one of those 135kph dibbly dobbly bowlers in the Imran Khan jr-mould

Too many of these now adays

Seems like our fast bowler producing factory needs some work

He can swing the ball.

Yeah i guess.

But he will be carted around in most conditions at that pace

I don't know his exact pace but he was getting the ball through. We're not spoiled for choices, desperately need swing bowlers.
