Salam bros,
**Just a disclaimer that if you don't believe in religion etc please contest those views in previous threads, this thread is not to argue about the existence of a higher power, it already assumes it. Please refer to relevant threads for such discussion, shukria.

Been looking into Islamic meditation/mysticism, and tasawwuf which deals with the inner realities and ideals of Muslims. It's a very interesting topic and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it or practices it, I myself have only looked into it very recently and have to say it makes the regular prayer much more rewarding and full of purpose rather than just going through the motions because you have to.
From what I understand you have to take a pledge with an authentic shaykh and from there you are the student and he is the master from whom you learn the practices from.
Meditation by itself is something that I have practiced in the past and think it has made me grounded, but had no idea there was a part of Islam that relates to it as well.
Online sources are kind of scattered so was wondering if folks here have any experience with this.
