Tensions rise in Bangladesh amid anti-India protests, New Delhi flags security concerns

I think this incident will redefine BD relationship with Ind. IF there ever was a chance of normalized Ind & BD relationship, it is gone for a long time. India succeeded to sow the same seed of hatred in BD which Pak did almost 54 years ago.

Pakistan-BD relation have improved a lot at people level. After Hasina's departure, it also improved at state level.

1971 happened over 50 years ago. Most people have moved on. A few losers from Hasina's party may still feel salty but they are irrelevant currently.

India did 3 blunders in Bangladesh - 1) they tried to interfere in BD's internal matters, 2) they instilled a puppet in the form of Hasina, and 3) they ripped off Bangladesh at every opportunity they got.

If India stayed neutral like China, things could've remained cordial.

India also got hijacked by sanghi extremists. They harm/dehumanize minorities in India and that also played a factor.

Suffice to say BD have entered a new political era. It is heading toward a new status quo.

Let me say it without sugarcoating, despite the ugly game Pak military general played, there was one thing in common between BD and Pak - religion.

I do understand that religion does not mean an automatic forgiveness, but it does have an effect of binding. That binding force never went away between Pak and BD. Of course, generation passed, things evolved, and hence some wounds healed.

Indian (Sanghi) stupidity will not only push BD far away from them, now it will push BD further into China's camp. It will make Chinese job easier to play some sort of a game in the NE of India. Let see how things GRADUALLY unfold.

Bangladesh should strengthen economic and military ties with China. China is the main player in the region. The big dragon.

Other than China, Bangladesh should also keep good relations with Pakistan, USA, and gulf states. :inti

India should be boycotted until India become free from sanghism. Maybe once Rahul Gandhi comes to power, things can be reassessed.

Its ur dream to see Rahul pappu in power, he is lucky mascot for BJP government in every election. Bangladesh jihads should burn down Bangladesh till India hand over sheikh Haseena.....

Yeah. Religion is definitely a very important common factor among all Muslim states.

I can't speak for other Bangladeshis. But, I always put religious identity over national identity. A Nigerian Muslim or a Pakistani Muslim is dearer to me than a Bangladeshi atheist, for example.

As for India, they are getting very isolated due to their shortsightedness and hubris. Their reputation is tanking. They may decline in different metrics in the long run.

China is playing it very intelligently. They do not interfere in internal matters of other countries. They do not try to install puppets. They focus on growth which is commendable.

Dipu Chandra das was a Hindu Dalit man in Bangladesh and he was seen in the picture below begging for his life in a police station. Looks like the police handed him over to the Islamist mob who tied him to a pole and burned him alive.

The usual BD poster @sweep_shot bleeds for crimes in India. But not a single post on the plight of this Bangladeshi Hindu who was burned alive by religious zealots. Such a shame. :mv

Ever since this convert Yunus came to power Bangladesh has been in a total disaster: riots, violence, destruction, I think Pakistan maybe a more stable country in comparison 🫣

He is an impotent grandp that cannot control the unruly Jamaat loonies.

We have been hearing that BD will hold elections for more than a year. It’s still crickets from Yunus. May be he forgot why he was planted in BD by Biden government in the first place.

Anyways. It’s good to see the Jamaat loonies destroying their own country. All we can say is Keep going. 👍

India’s "being the big brother" dream has effectively collapsed. Its regional influence has shrunk to the point where Afghanistan is its only remaining ally, and even Western countries are growing more critical and distant.
Ya all the while stamer Putin and italian pm are making a beeline for Dhaka Islamabad colombo and Kathmandu...heard stamer declined to meet Yunus and our Excellency Sharif had to barge into ally Turkish PM meeting with Putin..did he get the microphone working this time.
