Goa's Prajwal Revanna? Son of BJP Leader Detained In Major Sexual Exploitation Case Involving 30 Minor Girls

Soham Naik, son of a BJP councillor in South Goa, was arrested in a shocking case involving alleged abuse and blackmail of 25-30 minor girls. A probe is underway.

In a case with shocking similarities to the Prajwal Revanna sexual abuse case, authorities in south Goa apprehended 20-year-old Soham Sushant Naik, the son of a prominent BJP municipal councillor from Curchorem, amidst widespread public outrage over a disturbing sex abuse scandal involving approximately 25 to 30 underage girls.

Three Years Of Abuse

Naik, a resident of Madegal-Cacora, was taken into custody early Monday following protests by local residents and political leaders outside Kudchade police station. Investigations have uncovered a troubling pattern of abuse spanning three years, during which Naik allegedly engaged in sexual activities with the minors, recorded the acts, and used the footage to blackmail victims.

Naik Caught After He Flaunted Explicit Videos

The controversy surfaced last week after Naik reportedly flaunted explicit videos during a drinking gathering, sharing them with friends. Rumours quickly circulated, leading to Sunday demonstrations where community members demanded the immediate registration of a suo motu FIR, warning of a shutdown if arrests were not made within two days.

The opposition Congress has called for swift and unbiased investigation, with state party chief Amit Patkar urging authorities to act promptly.
Curchorem Police have registered a case against Soham Sushant Naik in connection with the ongoing sex scandal. He has been booked under Sections 8, 12, and 15(2) of the POCSO Act, along with Section 8(2) of the Goa Children’s Act. The accused has been remanded to four days of police custody

South Goa SP Santosh Desai said, "More sections will be added as and when new evidence emerges. If required, additional cases will be registered. Separate individual cases may also be filed, depending on legal necessity."
He added: "The process of collecting evidence is ongoing, and efforts are being made to strengthen the case. Statements of victims, if any, are also being recorded to build a stronger case. As per the investigation, if more victims are identified, we will proceed while ensuring their privacy is fully protected."

He further stated: "The process is still ongoing. The case was registered yesterday, and once victims are identified, their age will be verified through official documents such as birth certificates. A thorough and foolproof investigation will be carried out. We are ensuring that the accused remains in custody and that the case is made as strong as possible."
Authorities are currently analysing digital evidence to determine the full scope of the case, with forensic experts working to recover and examine the videos used for blackmail.

Prajwal Revanna Sexual Assault Case

The case of Prajwal Revanna - the grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda - sent shockwaves across the country in 2024 after multiple explicit videos allegedly involving the former Hassan MP surfaced. Revanna was arrested after multiple women came forward with allegations of sexual abuse, coercion and exploitation.

The scandal quickly turned into a major political controversy, with accusations that the acts were recorded and used to intimidate victims. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted in Karnataka to probe the matter, as public outrage mounted and questions were raised over accountability, political patronage and delayed action.

Assaulted in Car, Impregnated: Kerala Woman Sexually Assaulted Multiple Times by Congress Councillor

A woman in Kerala has accused Congress councillor Prashob C Valsan of sexually assaulting her, prompting her to file complaints with the Chief Minister and police. The woman, a member of a Scheduled Tribe community, claims Valsan befriended her under false pretenses related to job assistance. Allegations include multiple assaults at her residence, in a car, and at a hotel.

A Kerala woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a Congress councillor in Palakkad, the officials said, adding that she has lodged a complaint with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the police. The complainant, who belongs to a Scheduled Tribe community, has levelled sexual assault charges against Prashob C Valsan, a Congress councillor from the 24th division of Palakkad Municipality, PTI news agency reported.

According to the woman's complaint, she was working as a beautician and staying in shared accommodation.
She alleged that the councillor's father had earlier misbehaved with her when she had gone to his shop for tea.

How Congress Councillor Lured Her Into Friendship?

Following this, Prashob befriended her and later proposed a relationship. As she did not have a stable income, she sought help in securing a full-time job, which he allegedly promised to arrange, the complaint said.

The councillor later allegedly came to her room when her friend was not present and sexually assaulted her, it said. The woman, in her complaint, alleged that such incidents occurred more than once.

Assaulted Inside A

She further alleged that she was also sexually assaulted in a car near the district government hospital and at a hotel, according to a PTI report. According to the complaint, when she informed him that she was pregnant, Prashob allegedly asked her to take pills to terminate the pregnancy.

The woman also alleged that the accused is an influential person with close links to MLAs and MPs, and expressed apprehension about her safety.
Police said a preliminary probe has been initiated based on the complaint and that a case will be registered. They added that the accused could not be reached for comment.
The development comes at a time when the Congress is already facing criticism from opposition parties over multiple sexual assault cases registered against sitting MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, which have been raised during the Assembly poll campaign.

Andhra Pradesh Girl Escapes Stepfather's Abuse, Sexually Assaulted by Strangers in Odisha

A 17-year-old fleeing her stepfather's abuse in Andhra Pradesh was allegedly drugged and gang-raped in Odisha. Police arrested two men and detained a minor under the POCSO Act.

Bhubaneswar: A 17-year-old girl who fled her home in Andhra Pradesh to escape sexual abuse by her stepfather was allegedly drugged and raped by two men in Odisha. The incident occurred in Berhampur on March 29, and police rescued the teenager after receiving tips from local residents. Berhampur Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek M confirmed that three individuals were taken into custody. Two adults, aged 23 and 19, have been arrested, while a 15-year-old boy was sent to a juvenile home. Authorities have registered a gang rape case under several laws, including the POCSO Act, which protects minors from sexual offences. Additionally, the police filed a separate case against the girl’s stepfather in Andhra Pradesh, as his alleged abuse is what originally forced her to run away from home.

During the investigation, police found out that the girl, a native of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, had fled her home and reached Berhampur railway station aboard Prashanti Express on March 24 to escape sexual abuse by her stepfather.

Spent Time at Railway Station, Found Work at Tea Stall

She told the police that her mother had remarried after the death of her father, and the stepfather used to sexually abuse her. After arriving at Berhampur, she spent some time at a platform and later found work at a nearby tea stall. There, she befriended a local boy, who took her to meet his friends on March 29.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the girl was offered a drink spiked with sedatives following which she lost consciousness. The two adults allegedly raped her while the minor boy assisted them. Later, she was found by local people, who informed the police. The survivor was produced before the District Child Welfare Committee and her medical examination was conducted. She was lodged in a child care home as per the directions of the CWC, police said.

The incident came to the fore a day after Bhubaneswar Police arrested two ambulance drivers on the charge of raping a 21-year-old woman from neighbouring West Bengal. Opposition BJD, meanwhile, came down heavily on the state's BJP government and expressed concern over the rising incidents of rape in the state.

Addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar, BJD general secretary Sumitra Jena alleged that women in Odisha have become extremely unsafe after the BJP assumed power in the state. Quoting a recent reply of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the assembly, the BJD leader said that 48,798 cases of crimes against women were registered in the state in just 18 months (from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025).

Of these, 4,292 rape cases were registered. At present, Odisha under the BJP ranks first in the country in cases of crimes against women, while Maharashtra stands second, Jena added.

'Brutality Akin to Manipur': Opposition Slams BJP-JDU After Woman Groped, Dragged On Street In Bihar's Nalanda

Two individuals have been detained in Bihar’s Nalanda district for allegedly assaulting a woman in public, an incident captured in a viral video. The victim reported the crime on March 26, leading to the arrests of Ashok Yadav and Matlu Mahto.

Two persons have been arrested for groping a woman and dragging her on a street in full public view in Bihar’s Nalanda district, police said on Tuesday, after a purported video of the incident went viral on social media.
The incident took place a few days ago in the Noor Sarai area and came to light after the video began circulating widely. Police said the woman filed a complaint on March 26, following which two accused — Ashok Yadav and Matlu Mahto, residents of Ajaypur village, were arrested. Efforts are underway to nab others seen in the video.

According to the complaint and details emerging from the video, the woman was allegedly assaulted, her clothes were torn, and she was dragged and paraded on the street. The accused also allegedly filmed the incident and later circulated the video to intimidate her after she filed an FIR.

Political Row Erupts

The incident triggered a sharp political backlash in Bihar, with opposition parties targeting the ruling alliance over law and order. Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav condemned the incident, calling it a “shameful incident in the home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar”.

"It was a gang rape attempt. Those who misbehaved with the woman tore off her clothes. The incident presents a scary picture of the collapsed law and order in Bihar," he said.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal also criticised the government on social media, posting, "Nitish Kumar's so-called ‘good governance’ is at its peak!"

Opposition compares with Manipur

The Indian National Congress intensified its attack, drawing parallels with the Manipur women parading incident, where two women were paraded naked by a mob.

"Even before becoming the chief minister of BJP, the beginning of brutality akin to Manipur has occurred from Nitish Kumar's home district in Bihar!" the party said.

The Congress party also slammed the state government of not maintaining the law and order, stating that the "In Nalanda, a woman was subjected to an extremely disgusting act of mistreatment. The thugs publicly tore the woman's clothes and made a video of it, which they viralized."

"This incident is a stain on society. Those who did this should receive the harshest of harsh punishments. This incident shows that 'jungle raj' prevails entirely in Bihar and women are not safe. The BJP-JDU government has been providing protection to criminals, and now those same criminals are openly roaming the streets and committing such atrocities, " it added.

Police said further investigation is underway, and teams are working to identify and arrest the remaining accused seen in the viral video.

Amravati Horror: 'Playboy's Breakup Confession And 'Bet' That Blew It Up

A 19-year-old Amravati accused allegedly lured women via social media, sexually exploited them and filmed the acts in a widening blackmail case that has led to multiple arrests.

A 19-year-old accused, Ayaan Ahmed, who is at the centre of the Amravati sexual abuse and blackmail case, allegedly told investigators he “became a playboy” after his first breakup, offering a chilling glimpse into the mindset behind the crimes. The teen was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault case. According to reports, he used to lure girls, many of them minors, into relationships, take them to a rented room, sexually exploit them, and record videos. At least 100 such videos were allegedly made and later circulated. Police have arrested four individuals in the case so far.

Police say the case reflects a pattern of manipulation driven by lifestyle choices rather than psychological disorder. “This appears to be a case of a certain teenage mindset and lifestyle choice rather than a mental health issue,” a senior officer told TOI.

However, according to reports, Ayan was not acting alone. 18 months back, he began luring girls and taking them to a rented accommodation; his childhood friend Uzer Khan was there filming for him.

Till that point, the alleged material had not been openly shared on social media, though a few images had already appeared on 19-year-old Mohammad Ayaz’s Instagram and Snapchat accounts. The situation took a dramatic turn after a financial dispute between Ayaz and his close friend, Ujer Khan, began to escalate. Sources as quoted by TOI report, say Ahmed and Uzer had a "bet" on who would be able to win over more girls, which later developed into a voyeuristic fetish.

According to sources as quoted by NDTV, an enraged Uzer, 20, allegedly uploaded the videos to his own social media handles and circulated them among his acquaintances, reportedly with the intention of publicly defaming Ayaz. This act is said to have widened the exposure of the alleged crimes beyond the earlier limited circulation.
As the videos spread further, local residents became aware of the content and raised concerns, demanding a thorough investigation and strict action against those involved. The growing public pressure ultimately pushed authorities to step in and examine the matter in detail.

Lured Through Social Media, Abuse Filmed At Multiple Locations

According to investigators, Ayaan Ahmed used his strong social media presence and growing popularity to target women. He had around 18,000 followers on Instagram and also earned money through paid promotions and a mobile phone business. Despite this, he frequently borrowed money from friends and family to sustain what police described as a “promiscuous lifestyle”.
Police said Ayaan would approach women online, build trust over four to five months, and then allegedly coerce them into sexual activity. He is accused of recording these acts and circulating the videos.

Amravati rural SP Vishal Anand said, "A flat in Amravati city was the epicentre of the crime. The victims were also taken to a hill station resort in Chikhaldara, and to cafes in different towns."

SIT Expands Probe As Arrests Rise

A 47-member special investigation team has been formed, and four more suspects were arrested on Thursday, taking the total number of accused in custody to eight. Police said while Ayaan lured and filmed the victims, others were involved in possessing and circulating the videos.
“All electronic devices have been sent to the forensic science laboratory, where data extraction will happen,” said Anand.

Police have identified eight survivors so far, though their ages at the time of the alleged crimes are yet to be confirmed. “We need to confirm their age at the time of crime. Despite police reaching out to them through women officers, none of the survivors or their family members has yet filed a formal complaint,” Anand said.
Rejecting claims of a larger cover-up, Anand added, "There is no attempt to suppress the number of victims or help the accused. That's why I am addressing the media every day to ensure transparency."
Separately, reports indicated that Ayaz had earlier served as an office-bearer of the AIMIM. However, the party has strongly distanced itself from him. AIMIM District President Sayyed Mujeeb clarified that “Mohammed Ayaz has no affiliation with the party.”

I take personal responsibility for this," he said.

Meanwhile, AIMIM leader Waris Pathan said strict action should be taken against those involved. "We have no connection with him (accused)...Strict action should be taken against those involved in the incident; they should be put behind bars...The BJP leaders should not spoil the atmosphere and let the police do the investigation...,"he said

Police said the investigation has been intensified, and further action will be taken against those found involved in the case.
