But i m not a Pakistani. I m from Indian occupied Jammu. I could not care less about Pakistan's performance in these irrelevant games.

Given Pakistani athletes don't usually qualify for bigger events, these irrelevant events should be the first thing a Pakistani fan should look forward to. Baby steps to something bigger in future hopefully, and I am glad that the mods in this forum seem very excited about promoting Pakistani athletes doing well. Peace.

BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan's Amna Fayyaz and Faiza Zafar reached the finals of the Women's Doubles Plate squash event in the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Amna and Faiza clashed with Canada's Bunyan Nicole and Naughton Hollie in the semi-final of the event. The two teams fought hard to win the game, but the Pakistan duo came out on top and beat Nicole and Hollie by 10-11 and 8-11.

In the previous game, Amna and Faiza beat Sri Lanka's Kuruppu Yeheni and Sinaly Chanithma by 1-2 in the quarter-finals of the event.

Amna and Faiza will face Australia's Haydon Alex and Turnbull Jess in the grand final at 02:00 PM (PST).

It should be mentioned here that "Plate" category is not similar as the main event and is played between losers of main event.

Considering these are basically a celebration of British Empire and I've no real qualms about that, the level of quality can't be that great and this plate really scrapes the barrell.

Given the investment in sport we have, this a huge ROI!

Sharath Kamal enters men single table tennis final.

Gold medal match tomorrow.

Ten members of crisis-hit Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Games contingent in Birmingham have disappeared in a suspected attempt to remain in Britain, a top sports official from the island nation told AFP on Sunday.

The nine athletes and a manager vanished after completing their events, the official said, requesting anonymity.

Three of them — judoka Chamila Dilani, her manager Asela de Silva, and wrestler Shanith Chathuranga — had disappeared last week.

That prompted a police complaint by the Sri Lankan officials.

“Since then, another seven have vanished,” the official said, without identifying them.

“We suspect they want to remain in the UK, possibly to get employment.”

The 160-strong Sri Lankan contingent’s management possessed the passports of all members to ensure they returned home.

That failed to deter some from leaving.

British police located the first three that disappeared, but as they had not violated local laws and held visas valid for six months, no action was taken, the Sri Lankan official told AFP.

“In fact, the police got us to return the passports that we were holding as a deterrent against defections,” the official said.

“The police have not told us about their whereabouts.” Sri Lankan athletes have been reported missing from international events in the past.

In October last year, Sri Lanka’s wrestling manager abandoned his team and disappeared in Oslo during a world championship tournament.

During the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea, two Sri Lankan athletes made a run for it and were not found.

And in 2004, when Sri Lanka did not even have a national handball team, a 23-member group pretending to represent the country conned their way to a tournament in Germany and disappeared.

Beating oz is always special.
Be it in any sport, any gender or age group
This one looks tough though!

S Kidambi wins 51st medal for India - A Bronze in Men Badminton Single Event.

No Australia are not. They were beaten by India in Tokyo Quarterfinals and this game was also 1-1 before the clock decided to act funny again.

you can argue all you like but Australian team went to the final, nothing you can say or do will change that result.

For some ereason I cant seem to get the stream for the Javelin, howver Anderson Peters who won gold in Atlethics Championship was favorite to win gold here IMO.

Arshad leading as we go into the last round

Arshad Nadeem with the gold here.
That throw was monstrous by Arshad.
First south Asian or maybe asian as well to throw 90 metres

Outstanding performance by Nadeem. Congratulations.

Looking forward to him vs Neeraj at the Asian games.

I hope he keeps improving and get this done in world championship as well and in Olympics obviously.

He also has elbow injury as well. It might have hampered his throw a bit. He would have thrown it even further than this.

Arshad Nadeem you beauty first time throwing 90 metere and to beat Anderson Peters is a big achievement. My predicton was Peters to win gold

Really proud Arshad, was caring an injury too

Congratulations to Nadeem well deserved!

Unfortunate for our Indian team but silver is good too!

A superb achievement from Nadeem. First Pakistani to win commonwealth gold in 60 odd years

England's Delicious Orie fought back from behind to win Commonwealth Games men's super-heavyweight gold and end the boxing event with a victory that left the home crowd ecstatic.

Last day of the games, India has 5 gold medal matches and a bronze one left today.

Let's see how many can they bring home!!

It's time we up the pace in sports like canoe, kayak, surfing, cycling and gymnastics. Not just participating but should Target meals in Asiad and Olympics. In Tokyo we had good qualification numbers but didn't finish at the podium. Cycling - we have now 3 athletes who are good enough at jr level, shuld be trained harder

Congratulations to all medal winners, no medal comes cheap. They come after years of hard work by athletes.

Didn't think we'll reach the medals tally where we are currently. If only shooting & archery were there in these games!

I am interested in seeing if India can overtake New Zealand.

Not too sure.

NZ still have a very strong Gold medal chance in Squash. They will get to at least 20 golds. So India needs at least 2 Golds of the following tomorrow
1. Mens singles badminton
2. Womens singles badminton
3. Mens doubles badminton
4. Mens hockey final
5. Mens singles TT

Essentially, 5 shots and need to win 2. Our hope is to win 2 in badminton. I am not too confident about hockey and Table Tennis.

If we end up at 20 golds, that would be an amazing achievement, especially without shooting. Had there been shooting, we would have been able to challenge Canada for the 3rd.
