I am really against the polygamy but its allowed in Islam so many people submit to this even though it's really bizarre. Many people here believe that Pakistani dramas are much better than Indians but how so? One thing which is almost in every Pakistani drama is that the male actor will have an extra-marital affair and end up committing polygamy which is a bad influence on Pakistani audience who really don't accept it but comes under the pressure to accept it. Almost all the Pakistani dramas on-air right now would have the concept of polygamy and still, people somehow enjoy to watch it. There was recently a drama in which the main protagonist married her daughter's best friend and guess what? that guy is shown in good light whereas the poor lover of that young lady is shown in bad light and even that guy's first wife seems to be perfectly fine with her husband cheating on her marriage of probably 25 years in the end by saying that our religion allows it. :facepalm

polygamy requires the first wife to be alerted and her consent being taken.

so what you are just describing is cheating and an extra-martial affair

Mormons usually have many wives as well as part of their faith. It’s not cheating lol... the wives are ok with it and it’s quite excepted. No need to see everything under a microscope...

Don't watch any of these dramas, but I think you'll find most tv dramas operate on this type of premise whether Pakistan or anywhere else.

That drama was the first one in which a man marrying his daughter's best friend is being shown in good light.

I don't really know how you can show that in a good light, but a drams's purpose should be to entertain, I would assume that would be the idea of it. Tv dramas are usually filled with scandal and affairs, it's what keeps people glued to their sets to watch other people's car crash lives unfold. Can't speak with authority on desi dramas though, haven't really got any interest in them.
