0 A.D. (PC Game)

These past few days, I have been extremely bored and decided to turn on my actual PC (you know the thing with the tower, screen, keyboard and mouse :D).

I was looking for a game to play and I came across this little gem of a game called 0 A.D.

The lot of you who are familiar with Age of empires, Age of mythology or Empire Earth etc. would really love it.

It's 100% free/open source, you can play it on Windows/Linux and any low-end PC, it doesn't require any fancy hardware. The game is continually being developed by independent people and attention to detail has surprised me a lot.

You can play as The Mauryan Empire (ancient Indian empire), recruit elephants and build The Great Stupa of Sanchi and summon Ashoka to wreck some havoc. My favorites are the Carthaginians Empire tho.

It even has a map called Punjab :yk

System requirements:
Version: XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10
Processor: 1 GHz Intel or x86 compatible
Memory: At least 512 MB
Graphics Card: Any supporting OpenGL 1.3 with 3D hardware accelerated drivers and at least 128 MB memory, e.g., Radeon 9000, GeForce 3, or similar
Screen resolution: 1024×768 or above
Download link for Windows:

PS: AI in this game is killer. It's like Aussies of 2000s, it somehow always manages to win :D Start in easy or below.

PTA temporarily suspends 'addictive' online game PUBG, citing health concerns

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) decided on Wednesday to temporarily suspend online game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG).

In a statement, the authority said it had received several complaints about the game being "addictive", a waste of time and its potential negative impact on children's physical and psychological health.

"According to media reports, cases of suicide attributed to the game have also been reported. The Lahore High Court has also directed PTA to look into the issue and decide the matter after hearing the complaints.

"A hearing will be conducted in this regard on July 9," it said.

The PTA also urged the public to provide their feedback on the online game before July 10 by emailing the authority.

On June 23, Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Zulfiqar Hameed had recommended a ban on the online game.

The CCPO had taken up the matter with the higher authorities through a letter referring to the death by suicide of a teenage boy, who was an ardent player of the game.

He wrote to Punjab IGP Shoaib Dastagir seeking his help to move a reference to the authorities concerned for a ban on PUBG.

The action was proposed after a 16-year-old boy died by suicide in Hanjarwal area of Lahore after he failed to accomplish a mission he was assigned in the game within the stipulated time.

The developer of Fortnite has launched a lawsuit against Apple and Google after the tech firms dropped the game from their app stores.

Epic Games said on Thursday it was introducing a direct payment plan, meaning it bypasses Apple and Google, which would usually take a cut of up to 30% from in-app purchases.

Epic's move prompted Apple and Google to drop Fortnite from their app stores and to accuse the developer of breaching guidelines.

Apple said Fortnite had been removed because Epic had launched the payment feature with the "express intent of violating the App Store guidelines".

It added that the guidelines "create a level playing field for all developers and make the store safe for all users".

Google spokesman Dan Jackson said the tech firm would "welcome the opportunity to continue our discussions with Epic and bring Fortnite back to Google Play".

Epic responded to the move by launching an anti-trust lawsuit.

It is not seeking any money but is asking for injunctions that would change the way tech firms run their app stores.

In the lawsuit, Epic Games said: "Apple has become what it once railed against: the behemoth seeking to control markets, block competition, and stifle innovation.

"Apple is bigger, more powerful, more entrenched, and more pernicious than the monopolists of yesteryear.

"Epic is not seeking any monetary relief, but rather only an order enjoining Google from continuing to impose its anti-competitive conduct on the Android ecosystem."

Fortnite is free to play but extras such as skins and weapons are charged for.

The battle video game has been massively popular since its launch in 2017.

In both Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store, Fortnite had about two million downloads last month, according to mobile analytics firm SensorTower.

Alien: Isolation game

Anyone played this? It's a bit old but at last I bought a PC which can drive it. Scariest games I ever played by miles and miles. They have the atmosphere of the first Alien movie down pat. I had to turn the music off, because I was getting creeped out so badly.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Trailer Release Date Set for November 29, Nintendo Direct

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is getting a new trailer tomorrow. In a tweet, Nintendo confirmed that the Chris Pratt-led animated video game adaptation is getting a second exclusive presentation. The event will be live across Nintendo's official YouTube channels on November 30 at 3:30am IST in India/ November 29 at 2pm PT in the US. As part of the announcement, Nintendo also dropped a new The Super Mario Bros. Movie poster featuring Princess Peach's throne, placed before a glass stained window resembling her likeness.

The first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie never featured the royal damsel in distress, voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen's Gambit). We did get a brief glimpse of Peach's castle towering atop a mountain, followed by Pratt's (Guardians of the Galaxy) first voice line as Mario, which lacked the iconic high-pitched Italian accent. Pratt's attachment to this movie raised concerns across the gaming space, even more so, when he told Variety that his take on the voice was “unlike anything you've heard in the Mario world before.” The film also has Charles Martinet in its cast lineup, who originally voiced Mario and Luigi in the video games. You can guess why he isn't playing the role.

Nintendo has also made it clear that the Direct event is devoted solely to The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer, and that new video game updates will be offered. Other additions to the cast include Jack Black (Tropic Thunder) as Bowser, Seth Rogen (Superbad) as Donkey Kong, and Keegan-Michael Key (The Lion King) as Toad.

Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic co-direct The Super Mario Bros. Movie under original game creator Shigeru Miyamoto's supervision, who is attached as a producer. Matthew Fogel, best known for Minions: The Rise of Gru and the The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, serves as the writer.

Earlier this month, John Leguizamo, who played Luigi in the 1993 live-action Super Mario Bros. movie, expressed his disappointment with the casting choices in the upcoming animated adaptation for being non-diverse. “The directors Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton fought really hard for me to be the lead [in the 1993 Super Mario Bros. film] because I was a Latin man, and [the studio] didn't want me to be the lead. They fought really hard, and it was such a breakthrough. For them to go backwards and not cast another [actor of colour] kind of sucks,” he said in a recent interview.

This marks the second time Leguizamo voiced his concerns regarding the “all white” cast. The first was after the first trailer, when he tweeted (via DailyMail) that he was the “only one who knows how to make this movie work script-wise!” Bear in mind, neither Pratt nor Leguizamo are of Italian descent.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is set to release April 7, 2023, in cinemas worldwide.

I have always wanted to play but I am too much of a coward to play scary games usually.

I will give this a go, horror gaming has evolved quiet a bit as of late
